On the crown guards, let me give you this information: if you hate this guards, just turn around the watch and look at them again. The crown guards and crown represent the logo of Longines while the guards are the wings you see on the logo. So with given this information, maybe you will like the guards again. I do.
Just bought this exact model, should be delivered tomorrow. It was a tossup between this and an Aquaracer, the automatic movement is a must have for me. I think it looks fabulous, even the crown guards which represent the Longines emblem. Roll on Thurs, the 26th Oct 23 👍
I was in the same boat. Turning down the used Aquaracer Quartz for this spec beast, amazing watch for watch nerds. lol. Both are the same priced used $1000 CDN. But the Tag was way more beat up. Plus the Tag didn’t excite me like this Longines
Bought a Tissot Seamaster 2000 two days ago, watched your video yesterday, returned Tissot today, ordered this one :) great videos, great channel, keep on the great work. Greetings
This was a really good review, not many Longines reviews out there thanks! I bought one in mid 2021, really happy with it except from the bezel getting stiff.
Nice review… but I’d like your take in how to measure the lug width. In the video, you measured the point roughly mid crown to the lug. Lug width is essentially the width of the bracelet at the lugs. Lug length is distance from lug to lug across the dial from 12 o’clock to 6 o’clock.
I’m getting the aluminum / steel bezel just because I found a great deal. Kind of prefer ceramic but also the busier face on the metal bezel makes it more complete. I’m torn
Nice review. What is the anti-magnetic rating for this watch? I hope it has one since I tried to get one for the Britling Superocean and the company refused.
It doesn't. You need a faraday cage or majority none magnetic components for that and you just aren't going to get it as standard in divers regardless of pricepoint or brand. It isn't a normal thing to have... Not sure why you would think it is. Longines does do a variant of the L888 (the l888.4) movement with a silicone hairspring, but they don't use it in the hydroconquests and even if they did, the hairspring alone being antimagnetic isn't enough for the whole watch to have an antimagnetic rating. Anti-magnetic protection in watches aren't standard and you are only going to see it in specialised watches like the Rolex Milgauss or the Omega "gauss" aqua terra that are specifically designed to be anti-magnetic. Aside from going for a "gauss" watch you can also find anti-magnetic protection in the majority of watches where hardened steel is involved. Most hardening processes leave the steel sufficiently magnetised to affect the movements, so they have to ensure that their movements are protected. Sinn and Damasko do this for the majority of their watches. Bremont also does it for their hardened steel watches.
No, Divers don't need a big crown to wind or set the time on their watches because of their "wetsuits", you don't ever set a watch or wind it (it's an automatic anyway) in the water, or with your gloves on. Ever. And that is a very odd way to measure lug width. Never seen that one before.
A great watch from a new brand aside from popular brands with diver watches. Its really worth the money as the overall feature of this watch is amazing. Thanks for a great review 👏👌

That did it for me as well
Good call

I was sitting with this same battle for quite some time. And ended up with the Longines as well. Pulled the trigger this morning

Thank you, that means alot!
Any reason why you would choose the hydro conquest over an iso 600m certified divers watch ?? I’m stuck between the two
Good call. Tissot isn’t even in the same division as Longines!

Thank you. Appreciate that.
Like others have said, the crown guards paired w the crown make the logo when held sideways
If they would have continued the 39mm version from the gen 1 it would be one of the best elegant divers.
Would also instabuy if it was 39mm, they should really offer different sizes.
I think after Rolex went 41 on the sub, everyone follows. They have a 41 hydro
39mm ceramic just got released
@@727coolstuff really? Can not find it.
Just bought this watch in black! I can’t wait for it to come in! 💪🏽💪🏽
I believe for £1300 you don’t get the ceramic Basel but the stainless steel one. I’m I right?

Thank you. Thought I was losing my mind
Just bought this watch.... and 100% it's the right choice for me. I wanted the Aquaracer, but... that has quartz movement. The Longines is a bargain!
I’m getting the aluminum / steel bezel just because I found a great deal. Kind of prefer ceramic but also the busier face on the metal bezel makes it more complete. I’m torn
It is also available in 41mm worldwide. Great review though!
Gray dial on the gray strap looks like a winner to me ;)
My wife and I love blue too! Thank you!
Im actually considering this watch but i dont really feel the need to get an automatic. What are reasons that might oersuade me?
Is the numbers on the bezel engraved or not ;
Blue or Black dial???
Nothing wrong with the crown guards. Distinctive. Date window is good. Needed.
I wish that they kept the red marker on the second hand

I forgot Ball, they are a brand with an engineering theme so they have a lot of antimagnetic watches as well.
Can you do a review of the Longines conquest 39mm please.
I certainly can!
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial I second that!
Beautiful watch. Well worth the purchase
Agreed. The green is stunning aswell!
Longines-Fanboy here 🙋♂️ what a about a HydroConquest Chronograph Review? Would be interesting what your opinion is 🤔💪🏼
Good shout! That or the Conquest...?
@@ChisholmHunterOfficial the HYDRO conquest one… just googled it and found out that there is also a Conquest Version 😅
PLEASE MAKE A VIDEO CONQUEST VS HYDROCONQUEST
Really want to love this watch, but the crown is a deal breaker-and maybe the date window.
Luke the watxh and great review..you sound like Tim Roth in Rob Roy..cheers
Thank you. I checked and no way!
great video!
Thanks!
Love it 2nd. to Tissot seastar 1000 🙂 Thank you!
This watch looks so much like the Tissot seastar 1000
one of the best diver...
Agreed!
you forgot to show the back side
Change the weird crown guards, make it less shiny, and add more lume and it'll be so much better.
You need a rolex
The crown guards represent the logo! I like it and it makes the design much unique!!!
Druze to je logo longinesa ,malo pogledas i shvatis da je tako ,ne znam sta ti je tu cudno.

would love a G I A N T 3
That would look cool!
Bracelet needs a taper on it
Sublime watch.

Longines are one of the oldest brands
Thank you!
A new brand 😁
Where have you been bro? Longines’ probably one of the oldest swiss watch brands in history
would be killer in titanium
One thing I don't like about this version is that the hour indices are so far out that the hour hand doesn't reach them.
Longines: lose the date window, add an applied numeral and I'm all yours.
69th like. There ya go.
It is OH-MER-GAR....not Oh_MEE_GAR. Come on please. It is not COSC certified. But it is really cheap for the quality you get.
