      Can I ask why you went Southwark bridge instead of waterloo bridge (Pages Walk to St Martins Theatre)?

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  2 года назад +1

      For a version of Waterloo Bridge would you still use Southwark Bridge Road? (Or did you choose a lower line) the other issue is hit point, you are going to hit Kingsway on this run regardless, (So string to here not Saint Martin’s Theatre (If I could post an image in the comments it would help) So if you string from the Junction of Southwark Street/Southwark Bridge Road to Kingsway/Aldwych, I would have used Blackfriars Bridge if the left on to embankment were possible. Also when stringing from Pages walk, take you string from the very top of pages walk and take it to Kingsway/Aldwych (Hit Point).
      Finally, it is not a real serious issue choosing either, distance is the overall factual winner (100 metres difference in favour of Waterloo, When distance looks close I never measure I just go on preferred) followed by a reality choice of feeling what is best. So in this instance it was purely preference as distance is negligible.

    • @Aaron-ws6sx
      @Aaron-ws6sx 2 года назад

      @@WizAnn320 Thanks Dean, was just wondering as Southwark bridge seemed to take you away from the initial line quite a bit, I'm not at a point where I naturally think of the moving line/string yet. Wil have a practice with that.

    Even though all this knowledge is really very admirable it is totally obsolete, google maps have deemed it so. As a customer I really don’t care if the person taking me from point A to point B knows every road, street, or alley in London or even if the person even speaks English just take me where I need to go as cheap and fast as possible.

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Месяц назад

      There is an option for that and its PHV. The difference between PHV and a taxi is that not anyone can be a taxi driver. and as such there needs to be a system to give badges to people that is based on competition between applicants. Otherwise you replace it with the American system of "who has the most money to buy a badge". So although google maps currently doesn't beat a Taxi Drivers knowledge it is sufficient for a lot of people but it will never resolve the problem of who gets a badge.

    Hi. I'm fascinated by London and The Knowledge. I found your channel after watching a number of Tom Hutley's RUclips videos and wanted to know more about the systematic process of learning. It's very impressive, informative and actually entertaining for me. Thanks. Doug.

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Год назад +1

      Hi Doug, It is very surprising how much a person can learn when necessity dictates. There is often an exaggeration regarding the amount of information we learn but it is around 7000 roads and 6000 places. This is in fact the easy part. The hard part is the practise and deduction of short journeys, known as "Point to Point". This takes around 3 to 5 hours per day testing your self on 50 to 80 questions each time. around 3 to 400 questions per. Best Wishes Dean

    Hi I've not long just finished the blue book runs which I done knowledge point way but without the points. I've been thinking of doing my pointing with your wizann app and going to your school but would it matter that I done my runs knowledge point way, would this make things confusing. And because I done the runs knowledge point way would that stop me coming to your school?

      Hi, It will not affect you at all. The runs are diffrent but it will not affect you to any real extent. Bit of a random comment here. But I bought the blue book about 7 years ago. Never bothered with the knowledge. Bit of a weird thing here. I had a dream about the knowledge this morning 😂. And been watching videos about doing it. And black cabbies. I wish I’d of studied it back then. Even if I studied it half hearted. I’m pretty sure I would of passed by now. Or I would of known a lot. But I really am considering doing it. I think the freedom of it is great. Quick question. Do you think it’s possible to make like £400 a day profit ?

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  2 года назад +2

      Hi Craig, The link runs are not necessary but can have some small benifit. The real quetion would be - Are you doing as many Blue book runs a day as you could be or are the WizLinks preventing you from doing them? Your main aim should be to complete the Bluebook runs themselves as fast as you can. By all means drive the links but with a much lower focus. Allow whatever is rememebred from the link drive to be a natural thing rather than using effort. Keep all your effort on the Bluebook Runs.

    • @WizAnn320

      The more fluent and with ease you can call the run the more you can place images with ease as ad when the time comes. Calling the run and trying to visualise the streets is a very bad idea. Visualising the map is better but when calling your absolute concern is fluency and ease of recital. If you ever get someone telling you you must visualise the routes when calling then they would be wrong.

      Hi if you think you can learn points and runs as fast as you can learn just runs then go ahead, but you are only half way through the runs. Will you complete the second half faster or slower if you do points as well? And what points will you find. Cab drivers have been driving cabs for years but will not be able to pass the knowledge again as it is more to do with language than it is to do with direction.
