    Hi Dean, what I would have done to have this 20 years ago when I first started out. Joined your school in the final year or so of my Knowledge journey back in 2002 and it was revolutionary then! Great to see Wizann going strength to strength.

    Wizann wasn't around when I did KOL in 94. I went to Knowledge point and any other school I could get to. However if I did the KOL again today I would definitely be doing it the Wizann way. Makes sense and is extremely logical. 👌🏾

      Hi Clarence I think that makes you a 55 badge or there abouts. Thank you for taking the time to say this it is really very kind. Also from experience I think the 90's was the hardest period to have done the knowledge in. Back in the 80s questions were similar to bluebook runs. Where as in the 90s it was literally anything to anything anywhere. Things have changed a lot even since then

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Год назад

      Hi Liya, The knowledge in its basic essence is actually straight forward and easy. There are several reasons some people take 5 years. The most common is that they quite simply do it wrong. Another is they have a full time job and do not quite get enough time to focus on the knowledge. It does require focus, effort and time daily. The knowledge should be done in around 2 to 2,5 years by anyone who approaches it correctly and does the right amount of work each day. Set good targets for your self. The first target is to learn and complete 80 runs in 5 weeks. The second is to learn and complete 320 runs in 20 weeks. Do that and everything will go good from there. Best Wishes Dean

    Just watching the video and already confused. Where these people getting time and money to do the practitioning If you still have to work elsewhere to be able to pay the bills and especially in London? To live in London, (NOT SURVIVING ON FOOD BANKS) but to live, you have to acually earn at least 6 figures otherwise theres no chance to afford living there and still do the cours, preparation, learning and practising the Taxi stuff for couple of years?
    It seems that I still missing something or I just couldn"t get it.
    Big respect to those who doing this, also working elswere and still are able to actually succseed and obtain the license, but TBPH I still couldn"t get it and I trully believe that, driving a cab in London you must be really some kind of a wealthy person to be able to actually afford it. I'm Scandinavian and prices up here are high enouhg, but In London properties prices went just crazy. Rent 2 bed app. 10 miles away from city centre over 3k plus council tax, electricity, gas, water etc.and you already on nearly 5k, no need to mention comuting to work, and back, fuel, food and other stuff you actually need and thats anothjer like 1k on top of that. Unreal seriously, so no wonder why so many people actualy leaving London.

    That allegory about building a wall and painting it is one way of looking at it. I could say, is it easier to lay brick and mortar together to build a wall or is it easier to lay down bricks and then put mortar between them? ;-) (it's just a joke by the way, not a serious thought)

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Год назад +1

      You are not wrong though. So to expand on the idea, it was a given that the mortar was part of the wall and is also the thing that holds the wall together (I have never laid a brick in my life) and gives it its strength. and in this instance it will represent revision of the runs. Calling over. without which the whole thing comes tumbling down. And points are still the paint.
      So lay a brick and put the mortar = do a run and revise.
      There is always a danger with metaphors and allegories that an alternative spin can be implied.
      In future, thanks to you I will add the new context.
      Best Wishes Dean

    Great Video, just wondering how you might apply the techniques of learning the knowledge to a city that dose not have the history/blue books/runs already set up? An example would be my own. Ex Pat now living in Auckland New Zealand and work as a Firefighter, in 6 months I will be driving and wanted to learn my patch (area we cover) and then start to learn other patches. What techniques could be applied to learning or creating runs in another city?
    Keep up the good work,
    Matt

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  2 года назад

      Hi Matt I have always wanted to learn another city and I imagine Auckland would be quite easy. The shape and amount of water is interesting. Because the shape is elongated you should start by long lines from the south to the north of the city. Find a start and end location for each of those lines and then write a journey. Then include a via on the same journey that takes you into the nooks and crannies before continuing to the bridge. You might need only a few east to west routes. Also in town centres things get more complicated with access issues. So here we would look for puzzles or complex routes and solve and write those. It takes 30 minutes to revise 80 routes once learnt. And i expect 80 routes is all you will need to give you everything. Best Wishes Dean

    Hi Amazing video, really helpful. massive thank you. I have a question; after finish learning Blue book 1, can you book and seat an exam for it 'singularly'? what i am asking in a nutshell is; are the exams sate per book or one will need to study all four books before seating an exam?

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  4 месяца назад

      After finishing book 1 you must book for a Mock exam (Compulsory but no pas or fail), You then carry on to finish books 2,3 and 4. Once all four books are completed you will take another written exam, same style as the first but this time you can pass and fail. If you pass you will start Oral appearances a few weeks later

    When you say I can do 4 runs a day, should I literally only run 1 run and then recite it until I’ve got a good understanding of it and then move onto the next one or should I go back to the beginning and run it again if I haven’t quite understood it. Also if I don’t live in London (I’m from suffolk) how do you suggest drawing a line to the first run from my house or should I just pick any location and go from there?

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Год назад +2

      Hi Tom, As a beginner it is not about understanding the route it is all about being able to repeat it without looking at the words. Imagine reciting a telephone number once successfully without looking. If you then recite it several times you will almost have it. If you then make sure you repeat that number once a day you will get it. The only difference is you are doing the same exercise with 320 phone numbers of varying lengths and nearly every single number is unique (3500). So do not try to understand anything just achieve your goal of being able to say the route without reading it, several times successfully. Driving the route again is not necessary as all will be re ridden in due course. Seeing the route in your mind is not necessary. Your only aim is to be able to say the route. Repeat this 319 more times and on average we can all manage 4 routes a day. Not sure what you mean about drawing a line. Just find your way to the start of the run by any means possible. Best Wishes Dean

    • @WizAnn320
      @WizAnn320  Год назад +1

      Hi Giff Gaff do you think that would be true? When the people saying it are Knowledge point themselves, you would think they should be saying their students get through quicker because they are better. Maam Ayres, Mark Gunning, Jay Patel, John Harvey and John Wilkin all studied at WizAnn or used WizAnn materials. Do you really think its possible that the examiners would be doing such a thing? This is what is known as a Ad hominem attack, rather than show why you are better you try to say the other group are bad or disliked. 26 years they have been trying this one. I am quiet happy for anyone to go to KP because i am confident they are going to find the techniques taught harder and take longer to achieve their goals so i suppose they must rely on the examiner like them.

      It can be unnecessary and cause extra stress. You DO need to call runs but calling for one hour a day is all that’s needed and hopefully in that time between 60 to 80 runs called. By calling throughout the day you extend the chore and will cause mental fatigue. Mental fatigue is the biggest mistake you can make on the knowledge. Call 80 runs a day first thing in the morning and you will never deteriorate in standard. Good Luck Dean

      Hi Jawid
      Firstly it is absolutely worth it (But then I would say that wouldn't I) My latest student to pass out started work this Monday. He took £180 Monday and £190 Tuesday. This is during quiet days and a pandemic by a novice.
      When I first started doing this 26 years ago people asked exactly the same question you are asking now. Nothing has changed regarding that question. If you want the easy route then be a mini cab driver. There have always been mini cabs.
      If you want to work truly for yourself and have freedom then become a black cab driver. Will things change? Of course. They are changing all the time. I you think you have better options you must go for those, but for me I do not see a much better option than being a London cab driver for a great deal of people.
      Best Wishes Dean

    Is it true that by the time you get a badge you ll know every road within 6 m radius?

      The answer is absolutely NO!
      This is one of the myths that cab drivers and the media like to buy into to make what we do look even more extraordinary than it already is.
      There are 28000 roads in London and you will often here people say that’s how many roads you will learn but there are only 3500 roads in the bluebook and this is the largest batch of roads you we learn at once. If you doubled that amount by the time you finish the knowledge then I would say that would be an exaggerated guess as to how many roads you will learn. Around 4000 to 7000.
      The same myth applies to points you are going to learn around 6000 points, which is plenty to pass the knowledge. The longer you are doing the knowledge the more points you will need to learn. Best Wishes Dean
