Awesome video! My mouth was watering from all that delicious looking food.....I just want to move to Japan and it myself in to a yummy food coma, LOL! This place looked right up my alley, beer, good food, and a good atmosphere, what's not to love! Thank you for providing the information to this place, I'm adding it to my list!
This is a very fascinating video. I go to an Izakaya a friend of mine from Nagoya opened in San Diego, so I am familiar, but the menus mixed with my lack of Japanese (though I am learning) has kept me from trying these places out on previous visits because I let myself get intimidated. I hope next time I visit Japan I get to go!
Wow! Everything looked so good! I love Izakaya's! The sashimi platter looked amazing! Satoshi.....brother, I love the way that you ate the sashimi, by not dissolving the wasabi in the shoyu--which is what I'm guilty of. I'm going to try it your way next time. Memories again.....Kabu was always my mom's favorite. She loved turnips, and my dad always had ochazuke at home. Always! OMG! I love yaki onigiri too! 😋Our local Trader Joe's market used to have them in the frozen section. Not sure if they still do, but they were quite good. Thanks for sharing this video brothers! ❤️
It's difficult to say what the best dish to order is at izakaya restaurant. There are so many choices. I love going to izakaya with a group of people. You get to try many different dishes with friends. It so fun and so delicious!
I haven't commented in some time, and that's my fault. But I just wanted to tell you, how much I enjoy your content. Keep doing this wonderful, wonderful work. Be well.
would love a similar video from you guys but at an old school izakaya specifically, I would like to learn the names of the different kinds of grilled things you can get on a stick :)
Oh, that izakaya looks really great! And I'm with you, Japanese pickled vegetables are the best. All the fish dishes looked really fab too. Thanks for sharing with us!
Everything looked so good! I really appreciate the way Satoshi adds the wasabi to the fish, rather than mixing it with the soy sauce. I think that is a very good way to eat sashimi. I wish I could eat the yaki onigiri! It looked especially delicious to me. Thanks for the great video!
This place is a chain right? I've been here and love it! I stumbled across this place the first time i went to japan and have been to its various branches everytime i go back to japan!
My favorite place was a tiny upstairs place in Osaka that had an enoki mushroom with lemon that was sooo goood!! I’ve still have never been able to find similar recipe. Now I’m hungry and homesick.
My family lives on edamame. My 7 year old has been eating it since he was 2. They are the only beans he will eat (green, yellow, brown or otherwise), and one of the only green things (he also likes broccoli and spinach, but won't touch things like green beans or peas) he will eat. He also will only eat rice if it is in sushi :P.
Planning a trip to Japan in March, I have been binge watching your videos, you guys are great, so joyful to watch. I am staying near Roppongi, is there an isakaya you recommend in that area or near?
I was expecting you to mention basashi or eihire! I tried both when I was there on vacation, they were nothing to really write home about but it was a fun experience.
Things were more expensive than i thought they would be. Isnt izakaha meant to be an affordable after work restaurant for everyday people of japan? Is the one you guys went to a bit more high end?
hi hi^^ what kind of tea is used in chazuke? will you make a recipe video on chazuke? watching you eating that rice soaked in tea is making me curious.. thx!
The yakitori looked so good. My husband and I always get agedashi mochi at our izakaya. Also I don't remember the name of our other favorite but it is sauted pork with a thin omelette wrapped over, then drizzled with mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes. I'm still trying to find an eel chazuke in LA, they only sell the salmon kind. Dessert is always a mille crepe cake slice.
Beer is a must!! :D :D We usually go to places that says nomihoudai (all you can drink) Every time I went to an izakaya with my Japanese friends, I feel like we get to know each other better.
I guess my Izakaya tastes are very different but other than edamame I've never had any of these at an Izakaya except yakitori, although some of them I have had in other settings. But then again I often try some more unusual things like aged miso tofu (better than you'd think) and thinly sliced oxtongue (excellent) and then mostly things I don't remember exactly as I had progressed further down the Sake menu trying each ':-D. To me Izakaya are for a bit of adventure so I often pick stuff I don't know and then wait to see what it is they actually bring lol. Only thing is it's fairly expensive ($100pp) but if you can swing that, you'll have a great evening.
yeay finally izakayaaa, next more traditional japan resto again please you guys makes me hungry, i guess i like the way you guys filming, calm and high quality not like some disg****g mukbang /sorry anyway, keep the high quality video, good job guys
Hey guys, thanks for the amazing video! I'll be visiting Japan at the end of the month for 20 days. I would like to go to an izakaya, but I am worried about the smoke inside. My eyes are super sensitive and they just start watering like mad when there is cigarette smoke. What is your experience regarding this?

I Gotta Say That I really Love The Name Of This Interesting Restaurant the name in which that you guys refer to as izakaya please let me know you guys if I'm saying that right too in the comments down below right there.
there's a place i used to go a few towns over that did the spicy cucumbers as a starter, and man, i could probably eat like four bowls of them, they were so good. sadly, the place is currently closed, but is coming back with a remodel...Eventually.
This seems more like a restaurant? I think of an Izakaya as a kind of bar where you sit at counter and talk to the master or the mama-san while drinking and eating appetizers. Are you familiar with Rui Yoshida (吉田類) the bar-poet? The kind of establishments he visits are what I think of when I hear the word "Izakaya" please correct me if I'm wrong.
John Doe different kinds of Izakaya, don't think people will like it to be filmed a whole evening long while Shinichi and Satoshi sit there and make this video for us, so they choosed this style of Izakaya to not disturb someone :)
I don't drink any alcohol and you showed us some non alcohol things. But i can't read any japanese, what should i do? Or can the stuff explain me the menu?
The two of you are such a joy to watch and I must say Satoshi just warms my heart! Keep up the great work guys
As always your videos are so good. I went back to watch the grape picking. It was delightful!

Satochi makes me smile with his beer! So funny!
It's difficult to say what the best dish to order is at izakaya restaurant. There are so many choices. I love going to izakaya with a group of people. You get to try many different dishes with friends. It so fun and so delicious!
but i think an universal dish @ any izakaya is karaage
William Ng Yes karaage is very popular... one of my favorite is shishamo!
Yum! The food and drink look great and the presentation is so nice! I would love to visit here with friends.
I never want your video to stop, everything looks so good :) Thumbs up!
I haven't commented in some time, and that's my fault. But I just wanted to tell you, how much I enjoy your content. Keep doing this wonderful, wonderful work. Be well.
your personalities seem lovely and you always try such lovely food (:
I'm going to be in Tokyo for my wedding, thanks for all the great tips at the Izakaya!
would love a similar video from you guys but at an old school izakaya
specifically, I would like to learn the names of the different kinds of grilled things you can get on a stick :)

Satoshi looks so happy
The rice ball with miso grilled look so delicious, all the items looked so good as well. Give it try in Izakaya! Thanks. :)
This was a fun video...really loved it. Loved all the food, loved the custom lesson. Really great video
Good drinks and good eats, you cannot go wrong with that.

I love a good Shimahokke, I could eat an entire pot of rice with just one of those. Ochazuke is becoming my favorite thing to order as well.
Very interesting and informative vlog. Great stuff the crispy chicken looked delicious
Loved the simple grilled fish and yakitori. When my wife and I go to Japan in March an Izakaya would be on our bucket list.
love izakaya....went to a few in osaka, deep fried cheese was my fav!!! nice vid guys as usual 😀
So amazing. Our pub food in Australia is simply too underwhelming.
the shima hokke looks really good. I will definitely give it a try when i'm there next week. Thank you for sharing this Shinichi-san and Satoshi-san
I love you guys. Cuz of you my 6 year old daughter likes natto. She enjoys watching
This place is a chain right? I've been here and love it! I stumbled across this place the first time i went to japan and have been to its various branches everytime i go back to japan!
Everything is SO mouth-wateringly good!!! When you go to izakaya, can it substitute dinner basically? The food is so amazing. Thanks for sharing this.
+Le Genou de Claire yes. Most people just make it their meal.
Love your videos.
My favorite place was a tiny upstairs place in Osaka that had an enoki mushroom with lemon that was sooo goood!! I’ve still have never been able to find similar recipe. Now I’m hungry and homesick.

paranoiaprincess I'm a bit older than your son but I can relate to his food preferences! 😂
Could you show a video of how to pickle vegetables the japanese way?
Thanks for another great video! 😘
Planning a trip to Japan in March, I have been binge watching your videos, you guys are great, so joyful to watch. I am staying near Roppongi, is there an isakaya you recommend in that area or near?
We did a video on a place we like in roppongi. ruclips.net/video/W-9vtTUQubQ/видео.html
TabiEats thank you! You are awesome
I was expecting you to mention basashi or eihire! I tried both when I was there on vacation, they were nothing to really write home about but it was a fun experience.
Great video :) I need to visit an izakaya!
Wow, I really wish we had a place like that in my city. It would be such a success here.
Nice. I was at first afraid to go to an Izakaya because I feared not beeing understood. But thanks to you I lost some of that fear.
Enjoy!
Shinichi: "We got some yakitori"
Random person in the background: "UEH?"
priceless
Yep, Satoshi 1st things 1st. Bring the beer! & that's how I eat my sashimi too. 👍
This looks amazing!
Please do more izakaya videos! Can you do regional ones? And maybe your local izakayas’s specially items?
thank you so much! im writing something set in an izakaya and i wanted to make sure i got all the facts right
1:26 - I love the random Japanese chatter in the background lol
Great food great drinks = great night!!!!!
I had Edamame for the first time last week! I really liked it and now I want more!
Love your videos! Thank you!
That fish looked great too.
That yuzu honey sour sounds wonderful 😀 If there was a non-alcohol version that would jive well with me!
Things were more expensive than i thought they would be. Isnt izakaha meant to be an affordable after work restaurant for everyday people of japan? Is the one you guys went to a bit more high end?
Thank you for such an informative video! If this becomes a new series on 'must try food' in Japan that would be great! 😊
I eat Sashimi the same way as Satoshi! This izakaya looks great
hi hi^^ what kind of tea is used in chazuke? will you make a recipe video on chazuke? watching you eating that rice soaked in tea is making me curious.. thx!
Ooh I made it here early. I'd have to have a nice Japanese Suntory whisky (neat), and those deep fried chicken skins look divine!
I was hoping you order deep fried chicken skin!!! I suspect it will go well with BEER or Sake!!!! haha
Yogurt cocktails!? That's new to me! I'm super curious how that tastes now. And yeah, you can never go wrong with edamame.
All the food you ordered looks soooooo goooooood :D
The yakitori looked so good. My husband and I always get agedashi mochi at our izakaya. Also I don't remember the name of our other favorite but it is sauted pork with a thin omelette wrapped over, then drizzled with mayonnaise, okonomiyaki sauce and bonito flakes. All I order is agedashi tofu and karaage (SO MUCH FRIED CHICKEN) when I go to the one near me. Now I gotta order more :)
That’s how I use wasabi too! It’s amazing! I’ve always wanted to go to Japan. Are places like this east to go to if you only know English though?
hello YT video watching people
Beer is a must!! :D :D
We usually go to places that says nomihoudai (all you can drink)
Every time I went to an izakaya with my Japanese friends, I feel like we get to know each other better.
I once ordered chicken cartilage in an izakaya and loved it!
Satoshi-san looks so happy :D
I need to try everything!!!
Looks like you had a wonderful meal.
This video made me so hungry! Also, I'm w/ Satoshi on the way he eats his sashimi. I NEVER mix my wasabi in my soy sauce!!
I like the background music.
I guess my Izakaya tastes are very different but other than edamame I've never had any of these at an Izakaya except yakitori, although some of them I have had in other settings. +Pamela Batchelor it’s actually dashing broth. At home my mother uses green tea.
