On this video we take you on a drive to Annaka City in Gunma prefecture. We're going to get Oginoya's famous Touge no Kamameshi, a popular Ekiben (train station bento) sold in this area. We also visit some amazing "off-the-beaten-path" spots around the area.

Satoshi always finds great places!
Fall is my favorite season, I love when the trees change color. This area was gorgeous! And thanks for going in the tunnel, I love tunnels. And I'm proud of you Shinichi for going in, I know you don't like bugs.😆
Ekiban and an historic bridge , this is what tourist want to experience and see in Japan. This series really give a a reason to come visit , simply gorgeous this time of the year.
Shinichi running and hollering “Bugs, bugs!” was the frosting and sprinkles on top of this video x3 thank you for including that 😄
Glad you enjoyed my dear of bugs!
@@TabiEats it’s so sweet that you braved the tunnel through the bugs with Satoshi and for the video :)
I just want to say real quick you guys make the highest quality/most interesting food videos on RUclips your vids really are on a different level, and so are your personalities and dedication 😌
LOVE the style of the POT!!!
Yummy ingredients Too!!!! 🍱👅
Eating the delicious Touge no Kamameshi bento where it originated must have been very special. Satoshi's fascination for trains is wonderful--I love his interest and knowledge in so many areas. His glee at sharing Meganibashi bridge and tunnel with you (and us), Shinichi, made me smile from ear-to-ear. You are a great sport, Shinichi, and a loving partner. You make Satoshi so happy by sharing things that matter to him. Love to you both! 🧡🧡
Japan is such a beautiful country, I certainly hope to visit there someday...
Come on down, you'll have a great time!
I love Ekiben videos! Please feature more of these!
What a fun video, loved it. The sights were just amazing, and the payoff was ice cream, lol. Love those roadside areas, so quaint.
This really reminds me of North Shore Minnesota in the fall where I live....so beautiful❤🧡💛💚💙🤎
I love your brown tie-dye hoodie.
You two look good and healthy
Blessings to both ✌🏽🙏🏽🙇🏽♀️
I always get so hungry when I watch your food reviews. Everything looks so good!
I love watching your videos!
I finally figured out what Satoshi was trying to say. He meant to say the bento flavor was very comforting, not comfortable. And listening to the stream was also comforting, not comfortable. Just happy that I know what he's trying to say.
Keep up with the great videos!
It must've been so fun there! Loved the beautiful autumn tree colours!!
f these!

fun there! Loved the beautiful autumn tree colours!!
The rice bowl at Oginoya looks so beautiful and such a great price. I love Umeboshi so I'm sure it's love the drink. It all looks so good, and such beautiful countryside. So nice.
I love the cooking pots, the lids are so rustic. Just add so much to the experience of eating. I'd love to get one for my home or a few, one for a planter, one to cook in, and one to put a homemade candle in with a wood wick. Such nice pots, love it love it love it.
The rail tunnels were perfectly lit, amazing views of the bridge from below and above, wonderful filming of all the autumnal treats. This video really put me in the mood for walking in the fallen leaves and drinking milk hot chocolate while putting up the Christmas decorations. Thank you both for sharing such a beautiful experience with us, I almost felt like I was there myself.
Those beautiful fall colors were so nostalgic, I grew up in the northeastern US which is heavily forested but I moved to the desert southwest 25+ years ago so I don't get to see fall leaves anymore. Really enjoyed this one.
beautiful places and good food I'm making ORIGIRI rice balls Tomorrow with avocado cucumber and imitation crab
HELLO 2 U BOTH 💘 💘 💘 these VIDEOS CAN'T WAIT 2 👀 where Ur TRAVEL\ADVENTURE takes Us again! SATOCHI I watched Ur AMAZING 📷 & TALK WALK in the MOUNTAIN!!! ❤
Seasons greetings Tabi Eats, I thought Christmas wasn't celebrated in Japan, yet thank you for this autumn tour of nature.
you guys always make me hungry!!!
I found one of those ekiben bowls on Etsy after viewing a video about how they are made for the railroad station. It's perfect for rice.
Gunma Prefecture has gained a lot of fame from the anime/manga series Initial D. The drink Satoshi drank has a blue "Sileighty" on the label, from the racing team Impact Blue from the series. The 121 is referencing a particular turn on the mountain touge that Impact Blue drives on.
Yay! You went to Gunma! It’s where I live! Hope you can do an onsen video at Ikaho or Shima or Shiriyaki (which is my fave)!
Wow! I love that kind of bento. Honto oishii so na. Really looks so deliciouse.
By the way I'm one of your subscribers. I'm always watching your videos.
I love you both keep making me smile
Beautiful. Thank you for sharing.
The colors are amazing!
OMG, I remember that video, that bento looked so good and it still does, it's nice to see some things stay the same, even though so much has changed in those 5 years. Yes, it was over 5 years since that video😳and 7 since I started watching your videos ☺. Have a wonderful day! 🤗
Bad idea to start this when I'm already really hungry! I'll have to grab a snack now.. 😂
Mahalo nui for this episode. I think it's my favorite so far! I'm hapa. Oka san is Japanese, grew up in Japan and now live on Kauai and Love to eat and cook! You 2 are da best!
I love your positive and happy energy! These videos make me so happy
That bridge reminded me of one in Kyoto at Nanzenji. Loved the tunnel too.
Lovely place to visit. Looks like you two had the perfect day. Hello from Oregon USA
Such a beautiful video
OMG I kept thinking what is burdock then you said gobo and then I knew what it was lol… we have always called it gobo.
峠の釜めしはいつも買いそびれました。長蛇の列でした。小さいころ(60年くらい前)に汽車の中で食べたという記憶があります。
The tunnel and bridge were amazing...and the ekiben.
I love your videos. They are so entertaining and pure fun. Thanks
I really enjoyed this video! Seeing how happy you guys were made me smile the whole time. The bento looked so good! I love the ceramic pot that you get to keep. I would buy it even just for that. The gelato looked yummy! Love all the interesting flavors these places come up with. I did go to Via Gelato after watching your video on it, and I got two vegan flavors which were delicious! This series is so fun to watch and I hope there are many more! 😊🤗🍱🍨
So beautiful and food looks so Ono aloha Shinichi and Satoshi it's always nice to see you both have blessed day 😊
This was an engaging video. Actually, I wanted to post because I remember someone claimed that Satoshi is actually from California. I very much doubt this, unless he is a very good actor. His English pronunciation is too perfectly Japanese. But what convinces me is I have seen him walking about in new places and he invariably reads the signs correctly, without any pause. Place names (and people's names) are challenging even for native Japanese, and in the world of food, there seems of be a fashion of using non-standard characters of which there are many to describe food. Like, how would you guess the characters for river and pig mean fugu? He is too fluent in reading these things for me to believe he grew up in California
Actually, he grew up in Hawaii.
I really liked this one I have always liked trains and Gelatto so this one was perfect.
Lovely scenery!
Lovely video. Thank you.
I remember seeing the ekiben video. Never tried it myself, but it looks delicious! Also love to try the ume juice! I thought the apricot was a big ume plum hahaha
Thanks!
Thank you!
I want to find that Kamameshi when i go back. Looks so good
I knew this looked familiar! I remember watching a video of you trying this ekiben before :)
That looks so good I would buy one for myself and not share. haha every item in this bento looks so tasty, then you have a great bowl to keep and reuse. I wonder if it is microwaveable? You guys have a great time I look forward to seeing all your videos both old and new.😁😋
Terrific video love it Aloha from Arizona
Awesome
You are like two adventurous little boys going exploring in this one. This must be your most adorable one yet💞
the train tunnel looked so scary and dark but looked like it would have been fun to walk thru. that was a neat walking path. we have in kansas where took old raílway beds and made bike/walking trails, they r long distance between towns. some people hike them and camp overnight
I have serious food envy right now... 😛😀
We really do miss your Sunday streams
I remember watching the first time you both visited the station, train museum, and a part of the walking trail. Dancing along as you were walking looking happy made me want to visit the area. I wonder if the Tokyo station bento shop sells that bento?
Probably not, as ekiben generally are very regional.
I clicked on this video by mistake, I felt too guilty to click off because this man is so polite. 😭
💛...ah, takahashi... high bridge...
I've eaten that kamameshi before in Nagano. It's delicious.
I want to draw the bridge! i think i will do that next!
Nice one! I love your "delicious" videos!
Also, I like Satoshi-san's backpack, could you share the brand name please?
Guys, thanks for another nice video!! I notice lately you guys have been driving more in your videos, vs taking the train. For visitors, do you recommend driving vs the train for tourists?
Many of the places we’ve been traveling to is quicker to get to by car. However every place we visit is also accessible by public transportation.
Between driving and taking a train for tourists I think either way is fine. As long as one is used to driving in Japan, driving is a great option. However taking the train can be very relaxing.
@@TabiEats I have a friends in the USA that has asked me about driving in Japan. One of my friends is bringing his family (around 7 people) to Okinawa. As you know, we don't have a train system here, and the city bus system is hit and miss. I think driving in Okinawa is easy and renting a van is the best option. my friends just have to remember to drive on the left side of the road!
Nice car.
So Shittashi is the chauffeur and leads during the walks, it seems like Shinoshi is the follower, I've got this relationship backwards in my thoughts.
Those redbrick bridges (viaducts) are very common where I live in the UK. It's quite odd seeing one in Japan!
That style of bridge was introduced during the time period when British firms built Japan's first railways.
It looks a lot like in earthenware bi bim bap (korean vegetable mix rice dish)
Is the first meal considered "clay pot rice"? Strictly Dumpling Mike Chen has featured that a few times and it looks similar.
It definitely is claypot rice.
Do you get to keep the Ekiben bowl?
Yes, it is the customer's to keep. It is popular as a souvenir.
Where were the rails on the bridge? No trace of them there.
hi shinichi and satoshi, is it okay if i ask for english subtitles? sometimes i can't understand some of the words spoken in the videos. thank you!
In the video's settings menu, you can enable the CC (Closed Captioning) for subtitles.
You speak vry good english, both of you. Love your vlogs.
First!
You’re awesome!!!
Perhaps it is better to eat it when it is sizzling hot 😋😋😋😋
Is kamameshi n bento the same?
>> Shineechi ! - - PLEASE stop saying MMmmmm so dang much ! !! - - -Every bite you say this....annoying ...\ ...Shinoshi says more....describes more...he does it right !
Yummo
