This is very intriguing and impressive in terms of design, user interface, sonic possibilities, range of features and overall flexibility. Since buying it, I can't stop experimenting with it. It produces an amazing variety of sounds.
Peter V is making some of the most inspiring and innovative new instruments. Abyss was awesome and this looks amazing.

This is absolutely amazing. There are some pieces of kit -for me Reaktor, Falcon, one or two others - which turn everything upside down and leave me speechless. Novum is one of them -outstanding work, thank you!
This is full of awesome features, but the sound trumps them all. Crystal-clear throughout its range and full of weight when you go down to the lower notes. Super impressive. Thanks for making this.

Yes, I am. Absolutely love the idea of a standard thats not owned by one company, and as an MPE enthusiast I'd love to integrate polyphonic modulators!!
Just knowing what it can do I'm already a huge fan. I like being able to morph sounds together in unique ways.

Just wondering if/how to control the master volume - especially with a midi learn?
That trombone patch is probably one of the most convincing recreations of a sound using granular synth that I’ve ever heard. Is anyone able to break down the settings in Novum that make this happen? I see some of the sliders but any insight on what’s not visible, would be tremendous. Thanks in advance!!

Any plans to add modulation macros? You can do it currently but you have to use modwheel and CC11 so you are stuck with only two possible modulation macros. Would be great if there was a few extra exposed parameters that could be used for modulation from external sources.

Please download the new version (1.02). Add as many CC modulators as you want. On the modulator tab click on the default "CC11" and choose any CC modulation source.

Can Novum mix three or four different samples into one hybrid instrument?
Yes, you can import individual samples for each layer, so in total you can use up to 6 samples in one patch.
Any update on Syntify vst? 😊 Novum is spectacular. Just bought it this week. I’ll have to check out all your stuff now!

This is a monster ambient sound creation tool. You should consider adding CLAP plugin format support so that you can do real MPE with hosts that support it. Also suggest TRAKTION add CLAP format to their daw.
Man I have spent two evenings fiddling with the demo and I think I need to buy it. You did something cool, amazing, I have never seen another synth like this before.
I would love it if this synth could have a multi-segment modulator of arbitrarily complex and long sample offset modulation.

Superb synth! It only took me a few days of the generous 90 day trial to make my purchase. I've noticed that the padlocks on the envelopes and colour palette stay on when you init a patch, is this intentional? Congratulations on some more sonic innovation.
what are these Q4/Q8/Q16 switches in the ENV Page in the manual?

The user guide is a series of very short mini-tutorials. I guess in less than two hours you will be able to master all the functionality. But I hope it will take you years to explore the possibilities. At least I am still learning something new with it every day.

sure, you can! Just drag and drop sample to the main waveform.

Quanta is also good
One instance of NOVUM maxes out my [ late 2018 i7(6cores+6virtual) +64Gb ram ] mac mini. Sample libraries are not the worst for loading the system down anymore, its these crazy new plugins... Instead of loading thousands of tracks, just see how many instances of NOVUM, or other high demand plugins, can load in the system to max it out. Someone pls do a comparison between the m1 and the new m2 mini with the m2pro soc...

Does this plug in work with the new M1 for Protools AAX?
Sounds amazing, would love to use it.
It supports Apple silicon natively. It is currently available as VST3 and AU for Win and Mac.
Linux compatible in the future?
It is on my roadmap, but can't promise a concrete date yet.
Can these Tracktion instruments be used in other daws?
Any DAW that supports VSTs, of course

No yet, but there is something that achieves a similar goal: import a sample, lock it with the two lock symbols and then skip through presets. This keeps your sample, but takes anything else from the preset. In this way you get a fresh variation from every preset.

I wonder how it works
It is inspired by the "Phase Distortion Synthesis" of the Casio CZ synths from the 80s. I developed some math that allows to to this on all kind of audio material!

Steinberg no longer grants the legal rights to new developers to publish VST2 plugins - sorry!
The addresses praising this plug-in are fake. The software doesn't really allow you to use wave files very well at all. I was well disappointed - I would buy it if it worked like it says but it doesn't.
From the plugin dev: the behaviour that you describe is not normal, and Novum can handle wav files very well. If I am allowed to make a guess: you open Novum, it shows the welcome preset called "The Novum". This preset uses heavy comb filtering. If now you drag and drop a wav-file you only exchange the source, but not the rest of the preset - so youz will still hear all the heavy comb filtering. Please first click "INIT" and then afterwards drop the wav file. This should work! If not please reach out via the dawesome website or the tracktion support and I am more than happy to get this solved! Many thanks, Peter
