good luck should come out real nice, just make sure to use passthrough if you already dithered the image outside of lightburn.

Very cool! I just got the Mecpow X3 Pro and am still very new to laser engraving. What settings would anyone recommend for my 10 watt laser on 3mm plywood?

Hello good, for the works that you do with the 3D laser that look great my cool, it is necessary to have the ImagR program, and another question with diode laser, could it be done or not? thank you I hope your answer a greeting Pedro Luque

great work and a great teacher, I thank you1
question, as I'm a little confused with all the different files and how it effects me . fyi I use light burn exclusively and if needed image -r, green as there with image -r when I'm looking for files to 3d engrave I look for STL files in greyscale ! right or wrong? I also see theres png files that give an illusion of 3d ? and what really through me is you save from image-r as a bmt file ,I think . now when on light burn doesn't just doing it in greyscale make it a 3d even if its a png file ? so why dont you save the image-r as a png rather than a bmt? also most light burn files are sag?? whats your reasoning please
    pat

I save as a .BMP and use PASSTHROUGH in lightburn as it is already dithered, The bitmap file format also contains resolution information which indicates how many dots fit within a given linear distance. hope that helps

@@carphotography but I thought that 3 d pictures had to be in greyscale only for the 3 d effect? Thanks for your response

That's a JPG image you imported there, not a STL image. STLs are 3D objects, not images.

yes lightburn dont accept STL's, this is a Jpeg of an STL the STL greyscale shading works nice for the laser.

Not an STL, you're using image of STL done by someone else !!!!

yeah that jumped out at me too. I clicked thinking the fact that its an STL/3D file would be used in some way in the process. Turns out to just be slapping in a JPG that looks 3d because its someone's render of their 3D model
