Me too. I feel like some people miss the point. C'mon, this comment is not as serious as some of you seem to think. It's just that it wasn't crystal clear, based on the way Joe was talking about Kazakhstan in the video, as to whether he knows that the country is real or doesn't. Maybe he knows, maybe not. At least he knows that whether KZ exists or not - it's nothing like what the Borat movies portray it as. That's a good thing.
Im seeing a trend where these sequel to old comedy movies keep focusing on father daughter relationships... first it was the Jay and silent bob reboot, then the new Bill and Ted movie and now this apparently.
The Dumb and Dumber sequel was disappointing too even though it wasn’t about a daughter but yeah....if we wait almost 20 years to see more of our favorite characters then the focus should surely be on the characters we love. I’m looking at you Disney Star Wars!
I always thought it was the influence of the original creators greeting older and having their own families or seeing friends start families. Whether intentional or subconscious their art is a reflection of their reality. I could also be overthinking it way too hard but it’s still interesting

Its hard to do a movie like this again... Borat was something new and shocking and weird when it came out. t would have been suprised if they managed to capture that again.
The accent just isn't the same as the first one. In the first one SBC lived as the Borat character for the whole filming of the movie. For example he once got super drunk on wine filming and passed out in a bathroom. When he woke up he stayed in the Borat character. I don't think he put in the same effort for this film.
It was never going to live up to the original, as you say lightning doesn't strike twice but it was actually a lot better than I thought it was going to be and I really really enjoyed it! It relied more on the scripted story elements than the original did but I think that was definitely the right choice as the interviews with unsuspecting citizens was never going to hit as hard this time round and so I'm glad they didn't lean too heavily into that and so managed to make a great film with a decent story that still had tons of laughs throughout.

Borat 2 should have been done in a different country like New Zealand, Ireland, etc. If it had to be in America, they should have had Borat with a different suit, hair, and beard (kinda like how Borat was different looking when he was in prison).
The whole point of borat is exposing the underbelly issues in america by playing a foreigner whos weakness is not understanding american culture and social construct. So filming this in another nation wont happen
Why though? America is an important country though. You do realize that America doesn't exist in a vacuum, and that it literally has real world affects on other countries around the world? New Zealand quite frankly does not matter as much as America in terms of exposing the society of the most powerful nation in the world.
@@aysaqchaudhry6054 yes america is not in a vacuum. But borat is a character tied to america. He is the ultimate foreign character not touched by western values, morals, and traditions. Thats why the movies focuses on showing how he learns from the americans while making fun of them. America also has the worst political and social climate as opinions differ. All other countries are touched by western values but they arent america. Borat would not be borat if it wasnt in america. Thats the point.
In your final verdict, instead of Angry Joe just being his view, you should average out the rating of everyone e.g (5/10 + 6/10 + 6/10) / 3 or somethin like dat

Gonna disagree. I think Borat 2 is almost as funny as the original but far more politically poignant. Not to mention the fact that it's actually more of a movie. There's a plot and a character arc to this one. While it could never have been as funny as the original by virtue of not being as fresh, the other aspects work enough to make it on par with the original.

@@TrippingDaizy WTF are you talking about did the DEMOCRATS do a peaceful transition when spying on the Trump campaign and creating a Russia hoax with no evidence 🤦🤣 dude please educate yourself
Gotta disagree with this one Joe! I think this movie at the very least an 8/10! I think the daughter character is a great addition to the film for it's social commentary and a funny sidekick to Borat. Her gags were hilarious and it allowed for particular scenes to happen that you couldn't really do if he was just doing the same thing he did in 2006. I like how every scene perfectly leads into the next without the whole movie feeling like stuff is happening randomly. You always have a clear idea of where they have been and why they are doing what they're doing, which makes the movie funnier because the context behind plot makes the scenes funnier. My only gripe, oddly enough, is that the movie is a little too short, I think a little more time spent with different kinds of people would have been very interesting. I would have liked to see Borat interact with some Antifa people or other people on the left. His character comes from a pretty backwards country which would make for very funny and awkward comedy. Besides that though, the movie is very good. Laughed a lot. I haven't laughed this hard in a while to be perfectly honest. I loved the Dictator and Who is America, the first Borat was pretty good, Ali G was funny as well, I haven't seen Bruno but from what I've heard its definitely worth checking out. Big fan. Peace.
As a conservative, thanks Joe and guys for the way you addressed the political aspects of the movie. Everyone has friends on both sides of the aisle, and it's nice you guys are cool about it.
Yeah, obviously Borat's stage performance was prearranged. What I don't think you get is that the movie isn't trying to convince you it wasn't. Borat bumbling his way on stage is obviously just there to serve the narrative. The joke is the audience reaction and the two guys. Meanwhile you people think you're the geniuses who discovered plutonium.

I think a 3rd Borat film could be released, but I don't see it coming out anytime soon. It's a crazy time we're living through and this movie could not have be released at a better time. However, because the first film is so cultural prominent in the states, Borat's ability to trick people this time around is definitely a lot harder. Who knows, maybe he'll come up with a new character to mess with everyone.
Borat back when it came out was almost a revolutionary movie. It came out before RUclips, Amazon, Google, etc were big, or before they were even really commonplace. The fact that everyone in my school (back then), was going "niiiice", "I LIEK" and "How much!?", showed how much of a reach that movie had, hence why at the beginning of Borat 2, everyone knows who he is. However, Sasha Baren Cohen's movies have been pretty mediocre since Borat. As OJ says near the end of the video, Borat 2 is better than Bruno, which was utter trash, The Dictator was funny, but ultimately meh, then you have this one, which is ok. Borat: 8-9/10 Bruno: 4-5/10 The Dictator: 5-6/10 Borat 2: 5-6/10. I just don't think he's able to rekindle what made the original Borat special at this point.

Boogie: I hope you survive the judges roasting tonight Joe, if you do, you win $500.
Joe: When it comes to being roasted, I am as professional as I can be Boogie!
Boogie: Very well, I will now read Joe Vargas's affidavit, listen along judges.
I, Joe Vargas launched my Professional RUclips Channel The Angry Joe Show in October 2008 with the video "Shit that Pisses Me Off - Madden 2009 Hardcore Gamers" on 4 October. The show features my character "Angry Joe" reviewing a video game on a scale of 1-10 using sketch comedy. The channel was well received by the RUclips community.
By 2015, I was high on the prospects of professionalism. I had been invited to several trade shows, conventions, and even received access to the highly prestigious E3 Expo.
My main outlet to show my videos had become Channel Awesome. I was one of many Channel Awesome content creators who strived to live a professional life in the independent entertainment field. It was going okay until Noah Antwiller, better known as Spoony ruined everything in front of me by being an unprofessional jackass at E3. But I was a screw-up since day one. I only caught on because I was being straight to the point and was pro-consumer. My best showing of "professionalism" would be the time Geoff Keighley roasted me on my own livestream twice.
Signed, Angry Joe Vargas.
Boogie: And that last blurb about Geoff is the reason he is here on our panel of judges.
Geoff: Thank you Boogie.
Boogie: Your welcome Geoff, would you like to start your first question and/or statement?
Geoff: Yes, Joe, why are you still trying? The incident between you and me happened years before Gamergate. And as you said, you were a fuckup since day one.
Boogie: Thank you Geoff, we will now go to LordKaT
LordKaT: Thank you Boogie. Joe, you and that other idiot Spoony, do you have any clue what kind of jackass you are? We were invited to E3, E3 Joe! Only professional media workers can even so much as get in. And Spoony acted like a JACKASS at E3, and you were there endorsing him. And guess what, guess what Joe, that little incident ruined my future! I had a chance to interview the Five Nights at Freddy's creator, I had a fucking chance, but they shot it down, because they thought THAT I was the one endorsing Spoony's behavior, you fucking Jackass Joe! I rest my case.
Boogie: Thank you for that seething rant LordKaT, I'm sure you're gonna bring us tons of ratings for this.
I found some parts of the movie genuinely funny but I have a problem with Sasha focusing the lens on the ridiculousness groups within conservatives/republicans but basically doing nothing of the sort to show the bad side of democrats. Then having that message to vote after having a clearly pro-democratic slant made me sad. I wish it mocked both sides.
I mean, you have to remember that the person making the movie isn’t here to make a neutral statement. The person making the movie despises the American right wing and always has
That store is 8 miles from my house and is in Lakewood Washington. Crazy how close borat was to me 😂
Where was the Tenet review, I thought it was coming?
It's really simple, Larry Charles directed the first one, look him up seriously, total legend. Who directed the second? Some guy.
You know what's more cringey than Borat. It's Joe interrupting his co-host mid sentence with no regards whatsoever 😣 geez Joe
Good thing you missed the era of the soundboard during their News videos.
I’m with the “Separatists” from “Star Wars” political party. Lol
Borat: 8-9/10
Bruno: 4-5/10
The Dictator: 5-6/10
Borat 2: 5-6/10.
I just don't think he's able to rekindle what made the original Borat special at this point.
Its surprising with this score seeing as this entire review they literally didn't have much negative to say.
Because it simply doesn't hold up to the first. So presumably they were taking that into account
Thank you dear youtube for notifying me of the upload 4 days after I already watched the video.
