I’m more worried about Jim Carey. He seems to have had a break down and quit movies for the moment to make paintings.
I hope he recovers and finds a second wind for making good comedy.

They started filming holmes and Watson over two years ago. And it's just coming out now. Production of the film was a trainwreck. They tried to sell the movie to Netflix and even they turned them down. So everyone involved knew it wasn't going to be good

There is a scene where it seems they did and its f-in hilarious.
I was thinking the exact same thing at that point. It wouldve been an unexpected turn to the movie that would make it better. Also if they dropped the accents half way through the movie almost to acknowledge the joke of the bad movie up until that point.
When I saw the trailer I just thought how disrespectful it was to Arthur Conan Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.
Really sucks to see Ferrell go down this path. He is a legitimately talented and hilarious actor. I get that this is mainly a cash grab, but it’s just sad to see. Really hope he makes a rebound at some point

Peter Heiskell that movie works because Marl Wahlberg and Will Ferrel’s characters’ interaction work really well because they’re such polar opposites. In this movie they’re two goofballs.

If you just reskinned the other guys to make it Sherlock and Watson while changing the characters a bit it would have been much better.. to try and make Watson a goofball in a Sherlock movie is just so dumb. I've always found that movie to be overrated as fuck, watched it 3 times because I was trying to see if I had missed anything, but no. Really couldn't get into it. Mostly due to Will Ferrell being an unfunny cunt most of the time.
The only funny part of the movie is when you see Will has a smoking hot wife that a guy like him should never ever be with, and Whalbergs reaction to it.
And also Anchorman, Anchorman 2, and Talladega Nights.

The movie reviews have become a pretty big part of the channel. And I'm okay with that. I actually like this content. They're far from professional opinions, but that's kinda what I like. The videos feel like causal banter between friends to some beers. Haha I guess I like how relatable it is.
I love that they tend to have completely different opinions than the other video review people I follow. It gives me a chance to find out about movies that might not be great for professional movie reviewers but is fun and worth seeing for those of us just looking for a few hours of brainless entertainment.

Joe, being a fan of RedLetterMedia, they're trying to copy that kind of format they're doing which is an in-depth, casual, movie review, and I am fine with that. Even though they aren't as professional as Mike and Jay, they still do a great job, and this is (and Critikal) my audience's point of view review, and they're doing a great job of this. I honestly would want more these movie reviews.
But oh boy have they been very wrong in the past.

I just got back from that movie and I honestly feel asleep through most of the movie, not because I was tired but because I was bored. I didn’t want to leave because I paid money for it so basically this was a $15 dollar nap.

I am gonna say it.. Will Farell is not funny to me at all. The "Man Child" that he plays in every movie is so forced and annoying it is hard for me to watch. It almost reminds me of a Pauly Shore type character and for the life of me I can not get into it at all.
Which is strange because I absolutely adore Rowan Atkinson in all of his comedic roles where oddly enough he does play a bit of a bumbling man child in Mr. Bean. But I would rather watch 8 hours of that than one hour of a Will Farell bit. I guess it just adds up to taste but that is my opinion.

Why would anyone fall for this film? Will Ferrell does what he usually does and makes a Lowest Common Denominator 'comedy' that focuses purely on fart humour. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's characters are the latest of classic Western literature he intends to make a mockery of. Whats the point?

I blame the director. It makes such a HUGE difference. If Adam McKay directed this, it would have been as good as Anchorman. But instead they went with a first time director, and because of that, you get this.

I watched this review after seeing the movie.....I "watched" the first ten to fifteen minutes and then pretended that my stomach was upset to get out of seeing the rest of it.

At least some of the jokes we're OK, it got a little bit better at the end with watson, I think the movie was so bad it made it a little good like sharknado. But It's so sad my brother came over for Christmas and I was hoping to go see Spider-Man with him but it's not out yet until January 1 so out of all of the movie, I thought this was going to be ok as its up our alley, which it kinda did for us, we all laughed at some of the jokes and we felt at the end it was entertaining but I think that was partly because we we're together and haven't hanged out in a very long while. But it was a ok movie, I think it's a more a Netflix movie myself.

People who didn't like this movie probably also didn't like Step Brothers. Ferrell and Reilly have an amazing comic chemistry and it was here in this movie. Granted, it's a bit like seeing a couple of old goofy friends do some comedy routines so I guess if you never liked them in their previous stuff you won't like this one either. My wife and I are fans and we laughed our asses off.
