Will the videos of how you did the curly, black woman be available? When i did the OWP i was following your steps with her and i loved those videos a LOT so i was kinda hoping to see them again
I noticed you used about 35 layers. Do you eventually merge the layers? I am a complete beginner to digital. My drawing and painting on actual paper is good but I really struggle with the digital but love the end results and it seems to me the secret is in the layering.
Yes, you can see at 3:53 that I end up with layers for each stage: sketching, colors, rendering, and details. This works when you have a simpler piece, like a portrait. With more complex pieces it's a good idea to keep parts of the illustration on a separate layer. Like the character from the background and the foreground.
