I just bought one of these last week and noticed the belt squealing as well. Theres belt tension adjusters right where the cable goes into the levels above the handles. Adjust the nut out about a half an inch and see how that works for you. That fixed it for me otherwise it was getting annoying. The other thing Im dealing with is the excessive gas leak from the carb which Im working to have replaced currently 🙄
So that POS barely works on soft loamy soil. I guess my hard compacted ground would think I was ticking its balls if I used that on it. Thanks for posting and saving the time of purchasing what appears to be a worthless machine. Cheers.
His is not assembled properly.. His belt is too loose, and his tines are on backwards.. Some company made this tiller and sold them to a bunch of different companies.. I have a champion that's exactly like this one only it's yellow and says champion.. The thing is a straight up beast.. I have hard packed soil that's loaded with clay.. It cuts thru it like butter.. I'm very happy with my purchase.. Mine doesn't squek squel or stall at all.. It started on the second pull out of the box and it ran for 3 hours without missing a beat.. They are on sale right now at HD for 519.. I don't think you can find a better tiller for the money..
@@MarkLada I just ordered the yellow champion model Model 100380 from homedepot currently on special discount. Yea mate I agree from the videos I've seen that champion looks like a beast.
@hippo potamus Mine just got delivered today.. I had an old troy bilt horse that was my grandpa's.. I finally retired it at the end of last season.. I wanted to buy another troy bilt, but the new ones are garbage.. They wanted $900 for a 14" bronco with no reverse.. I went and looked at one and it just felt cheap and flimsy.. It didn't even have a brush guard or bumper on the front of it.. I tilled up a new 40'x60' plot today and retilled the 40'x60' plot I already had.. It took me about 3 hours total and the tiller didn't miss a beat.. It cuts the ground just as well as my old tb horse but it's actually easier to handle and maneuver.. Hopefully it holds up ok.. Everything seems solid and well built.. It doesn't feel cheap or flimsy at all.. I know you will love it.. Good luck with your garden this year.. I hope you get a huge harvest..
@@MarkLada Are you sure this is the same OEM model as the yellow Champion? The yellow Champions appear to be out of stock right now at Home Depot. I'm thinking of buying this Legend Force one but it seems that the Champion has better reviews. How certain are you that this one and the champion are identical? I too have really tough soil and I need something that can go deep and get all these grass roots out.
@Riblet Roblet You caught me at just the right time lol.. I just looked at this tiller on the HD site again.. It looks like the same engine and frame, but the gearbox and transmission are different for sure..
It squeals because its a cheap Chinese piece of junk. My champion tiller from tractor supply is the same unit just different color. I knew nothing about how to repair a tiller prior to buying mine, and I didn't want to know but now I'm a pro at it thanks to that piece of junk. The transmission is the box you see between the engine and tines. Its components are thin and don't stand up to the pressure of the drive shaft turning so the bend inside the transmission linkage. This will lead to the belts burning through or the belts jumping the pullys and jamming up in the tensioner sprocket. Or the best one, the belt shreds into spaghetti. Not a good design. I did buy another one, the Legend with the manual transmission. Hopefully it don't suck.
All this tiller worth nothing just cheap China metal go and buy a used Troy bilt horse tiller and do some work on it ul have a tank off a tiller that will stay with u for years and years
Great video thanks for the info. I just grabbed one at HD for $200.

Thank you for that tip, I appreciate that
Looks like it should be gear down some to take the pressure off the belts!!
Man thats a quick tiller. I have a troybilt and it walks so slow. Im thinking about upgrading the engine may e it will move faster
You need to adjust your machine! NO it is not suppose to squeal!
That squeal is the belts slipping the tension idler needs adjusting tighter.
How is it holding up after a year? I just bought one. Home Depot had them on clearance for $199
Tighten your drive belt squeal anymore
Mine doesn't squeal , you need to adjust it
Your belt is slipping a very good way to wear it out they need to go back to chains
It’s not supposed to stall like that either
no oil?? damn that sounds annoying to hear hahaha

Yeah I just bought one, It's still in the Box. I guess it's the one that has the cast iron transmission, We'll see what happens.
