New Tiller from Home Depot

  • Powermate tiller, sold by Home Depot. Our older 1990 craftsman has a horrid grinding noise in the gearbox, and parts were costly. So, we got this. This shows assembly out of the box, and then we take it for a test run. I like it.

    If any tiller has bolts and nuts for the wheels;;; replace them with lock pins like you see here. TSC carries them. Bolts will break too easy.

    I just bought this I have a hard time it want move I dont know if I had it to low the level but it was hard to till the ground

      I have to put the handles down WAY low to till. It works though!

    Leaves mounds out the sides and doesn't level the dirt off. Have to struggle to get it to move forward.

      I do agree with this. My older tiller had sides to contain the tilled earth

    Did you check/add any TILLER TRANSMISSION GREASE to your unit?

      It came pre-filled.

    What kind of gasoline? To use

      I would use premium unleaded, to keep it from gumming up.

      Third season here, started right up. Doesn't use oil. Perfect for our garden.
