Thanks Bud, question: why did you not use auger anchors instead? I am getting ready to out up my garage and it comes with 4 anchors (30 inch deep) and manual says to use them at all legs, so need to get even more, but before I do, I wonder why you used stakes instead. Anchors are not super expensive.

I bought one less than 30 days ago and it came covered in rust (from the factory)! I returned it and all theirs in stock at a near store that stocks this brand and all their stock was covered in rust. Very disappointing. I still need a Rototiller. BTW, it came with all the oil needed.

I have the Champion tiller that is the same thing as this. Belt adjustment is important and cables stretch especially when new so you might need to adjust it a couple of times. But i only paid $160 for mine new and it works great.

I have a 1991 Crosscut that I bought new for $450. At the time I believe Schwinn offered the Criss Cross, Crosscut and top of the line was the Crossfit. These were all called "hybrid" bikes at the time. Today, somewhat similar bikes are called Gravel bikes. I recently added a 1994 Criss Cross I picked up for less than $25. These steel frames and aluminum wheels can last for many years with a little maintenance. When compared to what bicycle manufacturers are asking for gravel bikes, your $2 investment is money in your pocket. You can put some money into a new waxed chain, new tires, pedals and tubes and some other things and that bike may last another 30 years. Many new aluminum and carbon fiber bikes will not last that long. Given you posted this 6 months ago, I assume you already have the bike running well.

It sounds like it was still squeaking when he was using it. I bought the champion one. It’s squeaking washer than that and it won’t back up.

I just bought TWO of these on a "special buy".... $149 each ... normally $599 or 699 each. Also bought 2 208CC front tine tillers for $149 each... can't beat those prices, and I can sell one of each and more than make my $$$ back for ALL costs. I hope they work well!

Note this is also works alot better on already loose dirt, it you have an established garden makes it a breeze, rocks and roots will wear out the unit but it does what it can for the power and quality of the unit. With that in mind 7/10 for me. My experience is knowing its a cultivating tool used to mix soil, and not a tiller which i ment to break up soil. Ive seen many reviews where people would try to use this on hardened soil and it makes me giggle

Your wheels are on backwards. The tiller will pull better if you turn your wheels around.

my dad gave me his bike (a schwinn crossfit) when mine got stolen. Don't know much about them but i know they're good!

RTT's are very hard to operate when taking deep cuts, they drift in the direction they want to go and the only way to steer (because it's so long and anchored by the tines) is to stop, pick up the HEAVY tines, reverse and change direction.....do that over and over and see how you feel at the end of the job.

just put mine together. They had them on sale for something like $549... with my discount it was under $500. I love the new system regarding the military discount... I registered all my info with HD so it's right in the account. Anything I buy I get that 10%. I tell you what.. that recognition they give makes them the 1st place I look. I also really like it now; you don't have to call undue attention to yourself.. or have to call a manager or w/e to approve the discount. Anyway.. this tiller def looks like a beast.

It squeals because its a cheap Chinese piece of junk. My champion tiller from tractor supply is the same unit just different color. I knew nothing about how to repair a tiller prior to buying mine, and I didn't want to know but now I'm a pro at it thanks to that piece of junk. The transmission is the box you see between the engine and tines. Its components are thin and don't stand up to the pressure of the drive shaft turning so the bend inside the transmission linkage. This will lead to the belts burning through or the belts jumping the pullys and jamming up in the tensioner sprocket. Or the best one, the belt shreds into spaghetti. Not a good design. I did buy another one, the Legend with the manual transmission. Hopefully it don't suck.

All this tiller worth nothing just cheap China metal go and buy a used Troy bilt horse tiller and do some work on it ul have a tank off a tiller that will stay with u for years and years

Man thats a quick tiller. I have a troybilt and it walks so slow. Im thinking about upgrading the engine may e it will move faster
