This is the English summer where Imran presented himself to the world as a truly great all round cricketer. He was also as fast as any of the West Indians.
Thanks very much for uploading this! I remember watching it when it was first on but I'm pretty sure I've not seen it since! I don't suppose you have any county cricket matches in your collection? I am planning to start uploading some matches on here in the very near future from this time period. Perhaps we could exchange some if you didn't want to upload any yourself?
Brilliant Upload and can you please upload javed miandad,s 280 runs vs India in Hyderabad from 1982 series and Pak Vs Zimbabwe and Pak Vs Sri Lanka from 1992 world cup
@@ajs41I thought you were referring to the match .Yes that's Richie Benaud in 1992 but he is presenting to you a match from 1982 during a rain interval.
Even in the 1990s most English batsmen used to wear caps if they were facing slow or medium-paced bowling. And a lot of batsmen, like Graham Gooch and Robin Smith, wore helmets without a grill.
Yeah, I reckon this was recorded during the first two days of 1st 1992 test between England and Pakistan. No play at all on day 1 and Pakistan 3/0 after two overs only on day 2, so BBC have a lot of dead air to fill and so put on a lot of old cricket, including this match. This is the card of the 1992 game. www.espncricinfo.com/series/16486/scorecard/63575/england-vs-pakistan-1st-test-pakistan-tour-of-england-1992
@@jonguiry5999 Yes, that was the first test match I ever went to watch, at Edgbaston, since I live near Birmingham in England. My family and I were there on, I think, the Sunday, although it may have been the Saturday, I'll have to check. I remember Robin Smith was facing some pretty tough bowling from Waqar Younis. I was 12 years old at the time. The second day was very controversial because the crowd received no refunds at all despite there only being 2 or 3 balls bowled that day. As a result of the outcry, they changed the rules after that, so you got some money back if less than 20 or 30 overs were bowled. It was the second international match we went to watch, because we went to see England v West Indies at Edgbaston in March 1991. That was a one day international which actually went into a second day, and England won by just one wicket. Bad light stopped play on the first day, and about 30 minutes later there was bright sunshine which annoyed a lot of people including us.
My dear friend no issues can you please upload these requests if you have (1) Javed Miandad 280 vs india at Hyderabad from India tour of Pakistan 1982 (2) Imran Khan,s 117 vs india at Faisalabad from 1982 India tour of Pakistan (3) Imran khan,s only only century in one day matches vs Sri Lanka from 1983 world cup (4) Ejaz Ahmad 122 vs Australia at MCG from Pak tour of Australia 1990 (5) Javed Miandad 129 vs Australia at Perth from Pak tour of Australia 1979 ...... I be really thankful to you if you can upload these
Thanks for uploading. Muddasar took Gower wicket 9 times in his career.

No coloured clothing, no powerplays, no scoops, ramps, reverse hits, switch hits etc etc- welcome to ODI cricket 1982 style
I think this was a Test Match so they wouldn't be wearing coloured clothing day, although I take your general point. It's 1992 not 1982.
@@ajs41 No, it must be 1982. Arkle (Derek Randall) last played for England in 1984.
It's 1982 not 1992 because imran retired after 1992,s world cup
Andy JS No,it was an ODI in July 1982-I was there!Botham was brilliant,49 off 28 balls...😁
U have any or Imran spells from the tests ? Pls post

@@jahno7154 It's 1992 because Richie Benaud looks far too old for it to be 1982 in my opinion.

1987 was a wet summer in the UK; this is an interlude in that year's Eng v Pak series - look over Richie's shoulder... very black sky
Hemmings is running on the wicket during his follow through
Even though helmets were worn in 1982 if the bowlers were not quick or the pitch was slow lot of batsmen ditched the helmet.

Richie Benaud at the start is not in 1982, it's more like 1992.

In those days Pak fielding looking so awkward
Many teams were the same: India, Sri Lanka, England, New Zealand. Only Australia and West Indies were good at fielding at this time.

Abdul qadir should have played in place of iqbal qasim....
