    I tried this routine today with my friend and I did 8x8 , it was brutal .
    Edit: Came back to this routine after a long time , I was not in shape last month , so I decided to try this routine again , now I'm doing 10x10 easily and with clean form , I can rep out 20 pull ups for sets now , thanks Zef and thanks to you for making this routine popular.

  • @tonyjfit
    @tonyjfit 4 года назад +26

    I get the routine. The first half you go till you break. Whether if it’s 1 or 20. Once you break, that’s the number you stick with. So for instance if you break at 12, you do 12 sets of pull ups and push ups.

    • @slee6129
      @slee6129 4 года назад +2

      TheWolfpaxFitness no you stick with the highest number of pulls you did in the pyramid. Irvin broke at 2 reps, but he did 7 reps for 7 sets. Because 7 was the highest number of pull ups he did in the pyramid

    OK so I tried it today. Did 1x2x3x4x5x5/fail.
    I rested about a 30-60 secs between sets.
    Tried to do all my reps as if Zef was watching. LOL
    My last rep was passonnate but fugly, so I broke at the very end and had to do another rep.
    Look forward to starting at 5 and going up on Friday.
    FACTS: I am so far from being a Barbarian, I am 61 years young, training calisthenics for 3 months.

I had a clarifying question though, you said if Bam went back the next day and did the routine again he would start at the number 7 and go up. I think the testing at the beginning could be done on a different day just to get your number
    Then do the actual workout on another day were you can really maximise the effort put into the workout.
    If you do it straight after the testing you have pre exhausted yourself so much that it will hamper the actual real workout.
    Shorter rest periods are good for isolated moves but a pull up taxes the CNS more so don't be shy about going 90s rest or more to make sure you get as much out of each set as possible to forces the adaptations needed to build strength endurance.
    You can also lower the rest time as a way to progress it to.
    It's a cool idea for measuring things 👍

    he uses the muscle up technique to help him in his pullup am very good at calculation cause basically when doing a muscleup the explosion of it can always help you when your pullups are getting slower or eving lacking the strength to meet the bar and also watch his wrist turn on his pullups as if he attempting to do a muscle up

      ur wrong ? the wrist shuould be turning if you activate your scapula correctly . in other words he uses proper technique. MOst people just hanging. ZEf is using correct technique. Also the upward motion is explosive . notrhing to do with muscleup as you can do slow muscleups also using no motion or no explisive movements at all. thats just the way he does his pullups an d its brilliant to watch
