    Massive help a year latter been havin audio issues since upgrading to the zv1 for my channel. Issue is i do car rebuilds and work in a garage setting so audio is very variable! But this has helped alot. Thanks 🙏🏾

    Thank you for such a useful video! Are you able to hear the sound while you’re adjusting the levels? Or you’re looking at the db levels alone to figure that it doesn’t sound good anymore?

    Can you do a comparison video comparing the two top RODE Wireless mics, i.e. GO II vs Pro? If it's not too much trouble, you can even add the ME mic as well.

    hey man, i need help. When i check the audio chanels, one is geting more sound than the other. On the computer i can listen more on the left side than the right. On your video both ch1 and ch2 get the same amount of sound. on mine only ch1 gets more sound, ch2 is geting low sound. I tested with lapela and without and both is the same results. do you know how to fix?

    I love my rode wireless go! I use it all the time! I just found out about the new splitter that lets you pair it up with a second mic. So I’m going to try that out too.

    Great video, what a time saver, i wish i had watched this earlier, i would've saved myself a lot of time and avoided certain frustrations. I use ZV-1 with Rode Wireless Go 2 and this is a nice compact setup.

    Super usual, just bought the ZV-1 and already used the Wireless Go with my DJI Osmo Action.
    Weird that the highest level on the Wireless Go is almost unusable.

    Have you done any testing with this microphone adding a lav mic. Because I get mad crazy static when adding a lav mic and cannot seem to figure out how to fix it. I have tried turning camera volume to 0,1,2 I tried 12 and it so staticky and has ruined lots of shots. Any advice?

      Sounds like it's a mic issue. Some mics have 2 bands at the end of the tip, and some have 3 (which is for use with smartphones). The mic I use is the Rode Lav GO, and it works PERFECTLY. Hope this helps!

      @@SidneyDiongzon that is the mic I have. I seem to be picking up a radio station or music in the background trying to film at home. But out in the forest I just got a ton of feedback. This is both with and without the lav

      @@AliceFordAdventures Hmmm...that is strange. Has this always been the case? If anything, Rode can always send you a replacement set thanks to their warranty.

    I'm struggling here. So I put the settings for a Sony a7iii (at 5) and Rode Wireless GO II (medium) but my sound is so low. What I'm I doing wrong?

      Audio settings in the camera should be between 10-15.

    Strange on my a7iii recording levels on camera at 5 and rode go on middle level go no higher than -20 db. Any idea what I am doing wrong? I have to set the level to 18 to get to a consistent -12.

    Thanks!! for the safe side..does the rode wireless go change it settings everytime you turned the device off? reason why im asking that is when you forget to attach your wireless go on your camera then you left your camera audio level at the lowest level then it’s too late for you realized when in post the you got bad audio on your footages..it’s for run n gun shooting..sometimes i forget to check my settings.. does the wireless go catches the sounds of your mic scratching your body when walking?

    How do you get rid of all the white noise? Adjusting the camera input doesn’t really solve it. Do you have to plug into a preamp?

    This is PERFECT - PERFECT - PERFECT. Very useful video as this is what I plan to use a lot on my ZV1. But am I not a big boy as I have the white version? It was the only one in stock for a while...that's my excuse...

    I would love to see these tests but with the Wireless Go attached to the Rode Videomic NTG (as that has its own gain). Have been using that combo to get a wireless boomed mic, but I am still a bit confused about what levels to set. I assume the NTG would have a better gain than the Wireless Go itself, but if I turn down the Wireless go to the lowest setting, the camera (a7iii and a7siii) to the lowest setting and only control the gain on the NTG itself, the Wireless Go indicates that it clips, and the sound is a bit distorted when monitoring through the camera even though the levels look good in the camera. Would love to know the science behind it and the correct way to set this up! Great video Sid! :)

    I'm a little confused. Does the Sony ZV1's mic input receive line levels? If I want to use a cheaper wireless alternative to the Rode Wireless Go, say the MOVO WMX-1 which puts out line level, will I be okay with lower input settings on the ZV1?

    have you tried it with a cheap lav? I got two of the amazon popular $40 lav and both add a squealing noise/interference. My internal mic is now also broken on my a7iii but the mic still squeals with the cheap lavalieres on my bmpcc and into my zoom.

      Their cable most likley is not shielded very well. The Rode Wireless lav is, but also doesn't sound better than the build-in mic.

    Hey thanks for the video. I just got rode wireless go ii and both a7c and a7m4 i'm getting really heave hissing/white noise. I tried messing around on gain levels on both rode and camera but still the same. Any ideas?

      @@SidneyDiongzon so for studio stuff or sit down interviews I really like using the comica cvm-200 wireless. I turn my a6400 down to 1 and it sounds great. If I am outside vlogging then I use my rode wireless go. The wireless go is so small and easier to pack.

    If the combination of two settings on the mic and the camera produce similar -12db levels audio, which one is better to choose? The higher setting on rode or the camera?

    Hi i have the same exact setup but for some reason the audio channels are unequal when the Wireless Go 2 is plugged in. I hence get the audio coming out from the left earphone and only a bit from the right. Do you know what I'm doing wrong? Help 🥺

      It’s because audio is one channel. You’ll have to set the balance in post (Fill Left for Right or Fill Right for Left)

    I’m a novice. I’ve never used an external mic. When you say you’re testing the levels on the camera vs. the levels on the mic, I can’t tell what you’re doing differently. How do you adjust the levels on the mic?

      Some external mics have an audio level that you can adjust, and all cameras have audio levels that you can adjust. If you don't see a dial or button on your mic that change the audio levels, then don't worry about it! In that case, just change the audio levels on on your camera. Hope that helps!

    Hi I connected my rose mic and it says it’s receiving audio and so does my camera but when I review post it’s as if the mic did nothing and to put it in perspective when I walk away from my camera as I record it’s as if I have no receiver....any idea what I am doing wrong?

    Hey man im having a problem dont know if you can help me out i have the same camera and mic when ever i plug in the mic the right channel dims and the left audio channel is louder. i have the settings on merge mode and dont know whats wrong. when i unplug the mic the channel levels are fine and equal but when i plug it in the channels are different.

    Why are you afraid of higher audio levels? As long as it's not clipping, you get more signal to work with.
