You helped me fix my buzzing noise on my a6600! I was getting worried I was gonna have to buy more accessories to use this mic... THANK GOD & THANK YOU.
Hello I speak very loud in my videos, it would be better set the microphone at -27? and one more question, have I to do specific things if plug the mic to my iphone? if I make a video with other people I should rec in stereo or in mono? which one is better thank you tho!
In the end check the levels on your camera to see if it’s really that loud. So if -27 is perfect, then you’ll see it on your screen to see if the levels are too high or too low. I haven’t tried plugging into my phone before but you nay need an adapter if you dont have a 3.5mm port. With other people I would record in stereo just in case levels different too much. And then edit in later in post.
@@MikeBSalazar Thank you for everything! about iphone i use a Rode USB c - lightning cable and it works great! about the camera, if I film in automatic mode the rec level still at 1? thank you again, I subscribed to your channel :)
Dude,, this was super helpful. No bs, please keep making your videos like this, simple and easy to understand for dummies like me! I'm trying to use the rode for my sony a6000 but no audio jack! I think I need an adapter. Thanks for the video!
@@Qbands8 Yes! I just did. The jack is "kinda hidden", it's on the same side as where you connect the camera to the computer, but just a little up and to the left.
I’m getting the Rode Go for my 360 camera set up, Do I really need to get the Go 1 or Go 2? Since I just attach the transmitter to the camera to capture natural audio it to my 360 and film party recap events but I’m not doing interviews and need 2 transmitters, so which option would you recommend?
Hey! Thank you so much for this. 2 quick questions. There is some 'noise' when recording quiet voices. Is there any way of getting rid of this? And if I am doing an interview with someone, we just wear one mic each and all is good? Would you recommend a levalier? Thanks again!
That hissing noise is a pain for sure. You can try using the hum or noise removal in the audio tab of final cut pro if you use that. Voice isolation may help sometimes. Wearing a mic each should be sufficient. Wearing a lavalier is better if you want to have a cleaner look to your video without showing the mic, or at least showing less of it depending on what you’re shooting and what you’re going for.
thanks for the tutorial:) do you know if the mic can work as a non wireless setup too? E.g putting the transmitter on the top of camera and use it without the receiver? I want to just mount the mic onto the camera sometimes without having to use both transmitter and receiver / just have the mic mounted onto the top rather than the receiver if that makes sense?
You could do it this way, but you would have to sync the audio in your video editor software. I recommend that you use a shotgun microphone instead of this wireless system if thats the setup u prefer.
hi! i just bought these for my sony a7siii and i also have a sony ECM-B1M shotgun mic...i'm confused as to whether or not i should be finding a way to use both the sony shotgun mic and the rode mics. do you have any advice?
Hey Mike! 4:23 you say there is no number there, but the number 1 is there still. What do you mean by no number? I clicked both buttons and now all numbers disappeared and there is no recording at all. How to get it back?
Great video, new to the rode wireless mic set up. Quick question. If the volume is to low do you first boost the receiver mic gain first OR gain on the transmitter? Thanks mate. Much love from Spain 🇪🇸
This is SO helpful. Thank you! One question about stereo audio. Does the person being recorded need to wear both mics, then? Or does pressing and holding both buttons on the receiver and linking 1 and 2 do the trick?
is there a splitter or anything to set up 2 recivers to your sony camera so you could get 4 mics? Trying to figure out how to get 4 mics for when I'm on sites to film and get audio with 4 rode wireless go II's. I have a Sony a7IV camera.
Hey I just had a question, I’m trying to record audio from inside an engine bay and I connected the mic to my camera and set the audio record level to 1 in camera and -30db in the mic, but it’s still resulting in blown out audio, I was wondering do you have any solutions to fix this?
Hi Thanks a lot this is really really well explained and very useful. Also if you could please suggest / help how can I do settings in my camera for a Sony Model AC UB-10D if I connect a RODE Reciever to it
I have the canon eos mark ii which has the flip up screen. Because if the flip up screen, I can’t connect my receiver to the top of my camera. Can you any suggest any mount that will help me connect the receiver to the side of the camera?
is this a 6D or a EOS M50? There isn't too many accessories for this unless you look for a camera cage specific to this model that will have a cold shoe for you to place it.
I’m recording on a Panasonic GH4 and that AUX cable creates some pretty bad high-pitch buzzing for me that comes across in the audio recording. If I touch the cable it goes away a little. I replaced it with my original RODE Go wireless cable and it goes away. Ugh! What gives?
Dumb question. Should I merge them like you showed at the end and only talk into 1 mic if I only Intend on filming talking head videos? First time I filmed I did it as is out of box and it was only in 1 ear, but I was able to fix in post. Second time I recorded I merged the audio and it sounds kind of iffy (only have turned 1 of the 2 mics on). Any input helps!
If its just a single person talking, I would just merge the audio to save time and post. But if you’re going to use two different microphone sources, like clip one on your shirt and plug one into a overhead boom mic, then sure use to separate channels (1+2) for each mic. If things are still “iffy” play around with your audio gain on the receiver if you think you need a lower gain.
My fx30 will be delivered this week! I have a rode wireless ii mic but I'm wondering if it will work flawlessly on my camerw despite not having the XLR top handle... Have any of you guys ran into any issues or is it okay?
I would use the microphones plugged into my camera, and have my camera connected to my laptop. Then when live streaming using the audio and video from my camera.
hey bro I'm having trouble merging it into STEREO , I have press and hold the two Botton on the receiver but it won't merge ? is there any other way I could merge them together ?

You may be recording left or right audio. You can change this in your editing software and just change the audio to mono so it comes out on both sides.
@@MikeBSalazarthat’s mean if I chose mono I can use just one mic to records and I’ll hear everything in both aside if I use headphone? So I just have to press and hold both buttons and wait to see only one bar on the receiver?
