He is very handsome. Shame there's no exchange program with Japanese zoos otherwise one of those handsome bachelors could make good partner for Komomo and Momoka the beautiful ladies of uno zoo.❤
@@ninawest8- Not so. It’s to do with space to create and care for a new group, which would have to be formed and catered for. It would be a massive and costly project.
Yea, and in Japan space is at such a premium, and I would be so nervous for any gorilla that had to be shipped so far away for 14-20 hours on a plane. I do wish there was a way to incorporate internationally with the SSP for gorillas.
Charlie looks very serious, handsome but serious. I'm presuming that as he's the biggest that he's the Alpha? I haven't seen him before, but his habitat looks nice and spacious and he appeared relaxed and content. I look forward to learning more about Charlie, Stadi and Kekla in the future. Thank you for sharing this video. 💖💖🦍
Well, technically yes, but the relationship in the bachelor group is that 2 of them get along very well, but one of those 2 doesn't get along with the 3rd one. I believe Stadi and Charlie are brothers and Kek;a doesn't get alomg as well with stadi. They all tolerate each other, and never have real fights or anything, just show off a lot
Charlie is one good-looking gorilla! All the Zoo Atlanta habitats look great - lots of interesting natural features and plenty of space for the gorillas to enjoy some ‘alone time’. It sounds like the bachelors get along with one another. Are they all permanent bachelors or is there a chance that they may get to have families one day?
I recently asked about the bachelors, its hard to say if they will have a chance, I do know that some of the fe,ales at the Zoo in Taz's group will eventually leave for a breeding program elsewhere. Most of them are too closely related to the silverbacks at the zoo, so matching them wouldn't help.
I used to volunteer at Zoo Atlanta and got to ask a similar question. Basically, because of the limited gene pool (most of the gorillas there are all related through Willie B.’s line) it’s not possible for none of the bachelor males to be put into family groups of their own at Zoo Atlanta, the only exception was Willie B. Jr who was also in a bachelor group with only one other male and then got the chance to get some new unrelated females brought in. The best way it was told to me was that these boys (Charlie, Stadi and Kekla) would be kept back together like this as “spare silverbacks” unless another zoo in the AZA reached out looking for a new silverback and the keepers would decide which one of the 3 boys would be the best fit. So while the chance is small, there is still a chance that maybe one day, one of these boys will be able to be sent off and get a chance to be the silverback and head of their own family group (low-key hope that ends up being Charlie since he’s such a beauty of a male😍).
So much strength and beauty ❤
Whoa he's absolutely magnificent 😎😎
HE IS MAGNIFICENT 😊😮
He's very very handsome ❤
He is stunningly handsome
An impressive male
It’s cool having his full brother Mbeli at our zoo as head silverback
Hi handsome 👋❤🦍🤩

Momoka can only go where I can still see her 😂. I love that girl
That would be ideal. Japan would rather keep them for the revenue than care about making the gorillas happy.
