I thought it was not needed for this comparison as it was pretty obvious which was the G4 looking out for people who have letters that bloom on lcd monitors or TVs.

Did not think tvs could look better.
QUANTAM TV IS SHOWING C1 IS BETTER THAN G4. That guy just lives in world of his own.
Are the scenes starting at 7:42 (both Forza and Spider-Man) with HGiG or DTM on? If that is the actual difference in HGiG I am 100% buying the G4 even though my G1 is still running well. That will go into the living room then… 😁

top right- brighter, but still greenish yellow on the left side, yellow in the middle not as pure as in the picture in the top left corner -which I associate with the s95d

Idk both look incredible to me. The one on the right looked brighter overall. But this is watching it over the camera which never represents 100% what eyes see.

I would love to buy the LG G3 instead of the LG C4, but here in Brazil, LG doesn't want to make the G3 available for retail, they only sell it in their online store which is very limited in coverage, they don't deliver to where I live.
It even seems that LG here wants to hand over all market share in OLED TVs to Samsung, the LG C3 is available in retail, but it is more expensive than the S90C, to make matters worse, Samsung has much better coverage in its online store and even gave a 43" entry-level TV as a gift when purchasing the S90C last year, even though it was already cheaper than the LG C3.
This year, I'm very inclined to buy the S90D, with no option to buy the G3, the G4 should follow the same path, and everyone is talking bad about the C4, even in your comparison, 4:45, the C4 managing to be better than the S90D in some scenes, Dynamic Tone Mapping is probably turned on, I've seen in another video, a comparison that makes the C4 at the same level or even better than the S90D with this function turned on, but many people disregard this function, I don't know why sure why.

It's true! I was in the store with the C4 and the G4 side by side and the difference is not at all like comparing water with wine! The C4 already delivers incredible brightness and color quality! Paying an extra 2,000 euros to upgrade from a C4 to a G4 is completely insane compared to the little you'll gain! With that price difference you can buy almost two C4!

I have the LG G3 yes the LG G4 is better but it is a lot more money the G3 is still great value honestly if you are looking to save money and better value than the C4

Just started looking for a new TV. I appreciate the work that goes into making these videos. But this is the 2nd video within my first hour of research that purposely withholds information about which TV is which. Like that is so fun and increases engagement. Stop doing that. It's not fun and I'm not tuning in to the livestream to find out the answer.

Such a crying shame about that HDMI input issue- the G4 was going to be the best candidate for my application until I found out about that and then I had to nix the purchase.
All LG had to do to get my customer dollars is to respond favorably to that whole situation - they utterly failed

Why are these tv's not calibrated
Ive seen online somewhere that the G4 has an issue with HDMI 2 (eARC) not working. Does anyone else experience this too? I do mostly gaming and watching youtube and I'm on a journey to find the perfect gaming tv for myself. I've been using a Samsung series 7 (4K LED) for the last 4 years now. I always connect my TV to bluetooth earbuds because it allows me to focus more on the tv while also drowning out all noise around me.
At first I was going to get an LG C3, but the Samsung S90c looked better in comparison, but the LG G3 has been said to have a lot more depth than the S90c. I'm having a dilemma, lol.

right now i can buy a 65" C4, for 1499€. A 65"G4 for 2199€. I saw the two side by side and i dont see 700€ benefit in the G4 vs C4. considering value for money the C4 is the best
Hi KG hope all's well. My AI pic pro on the 77 C2 does'nt appear to do anything but after a couple/three weeks I get a flash up on the screen saying AI upscaling has been updated, it does smooth and balance out the picture, I've definately seen a difference after each pop up. Hey 1 more thing, wtf is that fool Quantum bashing you for? I think he's one arrogant arsehole, "I'm the best calibrator,nobody can ever beat my settings" He charges 5 dollars to tell you to put everything in BT2020. Plus he doesn't update his TVs so people are paying for settings that can be months if not years out of date. TOTAL WANKER lol. Anyhoo Ty as always for the vid my friend.
That 5 year Panel warranty is great but LG gotta do a much better job in the QC department I have a A2 OLED and got the panel replaced because of dead pixels for free no charge still under warranty no problem but I’m on my 3rd panel cause I keep getting a lot of dead pixels every panel replacement has had a lot of dead pixels right out the box I’m not sure what’s going with LG but they have todo better
The C4 with 42" is better for Gaming then than G4, cause the 42" can be used with a normal Office Desktop. The G4 ist to tall.
The G4 is so bright it makes the C4 look like it’s sdr vs hdr when they are both HDR. Like I’m sure the C4 is an excellent tv but just knowing the G4 is so much better really makes the C4 look worse than it is. The S90d looks very dim in comparison to the S95d as well but for some reason it doesn’t look as outdated as the C4. I think the aside from the brightness difference the C4 being Woled having those colder blueish tones compared to the Qd-Oled having warmer reder tones is not doing any favors to the C4. Besides its price I really don’t see the point in people getting C4 anyone when the G4 is so much brighter.
The G4 is great if you can use a 55" screen. I've used a LG C Series as combo streaming machine & pc gaming monitor which it excels at, but 55" is too big. The pixel density at 55" is very noticeable unless you're sitting a living room away. I wish I could get a 42" or 48" with an MLA panel, but I expect the pixel density will not allow for MLA that small. It would be nice to see the MLA tech in smaller form factor.
What do you mean? Size relative to resolution is what matters in terms of pixel density, no? A 55" @4k would yield the same pixel density despite different panels
false, had c4 42 at 90cm distance and my cx 55 looks miles better at 1.5m distance, c4 42 looks blurry, cx 55 crystal clear

Problem is that the last years G3 in 83" does not support that broghtness booster. So if you want 83", last years models are no option.

Why nobody is comparing g4 vs g3 , is it worth paying full prize for g4 instead of discounted g3. Can you do this?
As far as I know overal brightness between G3 vs G4 is the same. Just when looking at the 3% window size LG G4 can get at 3000 nits, vs 2000 nits for LG G3. I would say buy LG G3 over any other TV at a discount.

Upper left is probably the S95D because it's bright and has more color whereas the upper right is the G4 which has more brightness and better clarity, but color is not as good. Bottom two are the dimmer C4 and S90D.

My least favorite is the C4 and my most favorite is the G4 - but I couldn’t get a G4 because of the HDMI port issues all over AVS forums- the G4 is just defective… what a shame

Where everybody is claiming that the G4 is better than the C4. I would say that they are different, not better or worse.
The G4 has more brightness but the C4 has deeper colors/more color. The G3 also had more color than the G4.
(But then if you compare the G4 with the S90D, then the G4 has deeper colors than the S90D, due to the colors on the S90D being more vibrant, shining like a lamp thanks to the quantum dots.)
The picture looks more defined on a C4 compared to the slightly fuzzier picture on the G4 because of the MLA, which is corrected in many scenes by slightly better processing though.
The MLA technology means more brightness and better highlights but the trade off is less color and a slightly fuzzier picture due to the MLA dispersing the light more, brightening out details)
Due to the lack of MLA, the C4 also has the full cyan and deeper blue colors.

For PC use, mostly productivity and a bit of gaming, would the G4 provide me extended durabitlity against burn-in? The logic being that with MLA, I wouldn't need to push the pixels as hard as I would with the C4, so they would last longer before showing signs of burn-in. Also, given my PC room is dimly lit, would the G4 still show an obvious image quality difference over the C4 even at low brightness settings? Thanks!
LG gives 5 yr warranty for any burn-in issues on the G4
C series no extra warranty g has 5 years and probably due to tech difference: mla heatsink etc

4:03 The PQ EOTF tracking of these models is pretty much identical so it's not a matter of different processing. It's probably because the higher brightness on the G4 increases the perceived contrast (or color volume I believe it's called in technical terms)

I also bought a C4 77" (for 2.049 euros) for movies and gaming, and i´m very happy with it! I don´t think the higher price of the G4 just for a little extra brightness justifys the change!

It seems the G4 has a way better factory calibration. The white point on the C4 seems off and looks way better on the G4 (2:39 shows this).... this is another huge reason opting for the G4!!

Looking at the 4 comparisons - the one on the top left looks the worse - hoping thats NOT the G4 - its over bright looking in the video - the bottom left seems to be the C4 since it looks dimmest?
I believe in color science, each manufacturer has its own way of processing colors, and observing the Samsung logo in different scenarios, it is possible to notice a greater difference in tone occurring with screens 1 and 3, leading us to understand that they are the same panel, just as screens 2 and 4 appear to be the same type of panel, only the brightness changing between them.
Due to the inconsistency in brightness between screens 3 and 4, I believe that the C4 has Dynamic Tone Mapping turned on, this function helps the C4's screen to be even brighter than the S90D in several HDR scenes. It could be that the G4 is using this function too, and is therefore terribly bright, but that's what the function does, it pushes the brightness of the screens to the limit.

In dark areas, the C4 is more than enough, and the brightness of the G4 would be too much to bother the eyes.

Hey KG, I understand the G4 is a big step up to last years C3 but I’m trying to get the 83” C3 on sale since it will be out of stock soon, just wondering, are the brightness advantages of the G4 irrelevant in a pitch black home theather environment? Definitely understand the reason for wanting 83”. To answer your question no it’s not just an advantage for bright room viewing, even in a dark room I appreciate the more capable TV for HDR because those TVs will not have to dim a scene down and tone map as aggressively as a lesser TV, so you have better highlights in HDR leading to overall better HDR impact.

MLA is awesome. I was looking at getting last gen's G3 potentially at some point in the near future, because my 65" B7 has relatively bad burn-in. But when Target had the C3 65" on clearance for $1,000, it was too good of a deal to pass up.
When i enable 144hz in game optimizer the colors get extremely washed out is that normal?
Yes
If you're using it with a Ps5 or Xbox series X, which only support 120hz, activating 144hz makes the colors look washed out. 144hz only works if the TV is connected to a PC.

Well ... thats a bummer. Had some hopes that LG would fix gaming on the C4 this year, but it seems like there are still problems. Wonder what some of the problems are on the S90D compared to the C4, as KG eluded. The C3 prices have come down, which would make a great buy, but gaming wise, its worse than C4. S90C is still an option. Or perhaps the S90D. Probably the best way to go is to wait for BF in November and get a nice deal with the G4. Prices should have come down by then for the G4 🤔
I use my C4 77" in gaming, and I notice almost no difference between standard mode and gaming mode, even in gaming mode my C4 has more than enough brightness!

i saw a G4 in the shops, a 65 inch one. boy the heat coming out of the panel is kind of alarming and the c465 next to it wasn't creating that much heat. my c242 and c355 ain't giving out that much heat.
