- So this is just about annoying. Apparently if I have sliced files for both my anycubic and my Saturn, the Saturn wont read any of the files at all. Odd. Thanks for watching and have a great day!
It's pretty much accepted at this point that the USB sticks that come with resin printers are expected to last about as long as the gloves.
I know absolutely nothing when it comes to 3-D printing, but that chain mail detail looked amazing!
With my Anycubic Photon Mono 4k came with a thumb drive that stopped working that day. I have also found that the thumbs drive I use is a second gen USB but the printer is only a USB 1. Which mean nothing really but what that means on mine supporting sliced .pwma file can only show 6 files for what ever reason. I to thought I could just put all my print files on a big stick. You seem to have better results and luck than I have had over all but I've only been printing a since Halloween when I got the printer on sale. Thanks for the video and yes it may just have been variant file type that the printer's USB can't handle. Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist
You’re already proving you know way more than I do about tech stuff, Thomas! I may be wrong but I think most folks that print, pick one brand and stick with it, so this kinda stuff rarely comes up. At least I can’t find any videos about it. Thanks for watching and giving some great insight!
@@NosterRex Well I have a bit of Computer experience and your right about folks not mixing. As for me price at that moment and some friend recommendations is why I went for the Anycubic. When I'm ready to go for the next one I will look at a broader selection. Thank you once again having someone in the hobby in the State is very cool.
I am having the exact same problem with my Saturn 8k (Not the Saturn 2 8k) not reading my USB stick. I'm going out tomorrow to buy a new stick and see if that works. I've had the machine for about a month and have only been able to print the sample rook with success It's so frustrating to see that the files are there on my stick but the machine won't read them. Thank you soooo much for this video. It gives me hope that I can figure this out and be able to finally print my own things. Great to see you work it out without having a ton of tech knowledge because I am not tech savvy at all!
I went and bought a gen 3.1 usb stick and that solved all my problems. Originally I bought a 256 gig stick but that’s too big and the machine won’t read more than 10 to 20 gig (I think). Maybe more. I originally put a bunch of sliced files on there but it wouldn’t read them all. So just fyi. Thanks for the view and the kind comment. Glad I could help, even though I have no clue what I’m doing, lol.
@@NosterRex You know more than I do! Thanks for the extra info about the memory stick storage size!
Nice! Can't wait to see this in person when I invade your space in a month!
Looking forward to it!
I got 2 Saturn 2's and both of the supplied USB's died within the 1st week. I have had the best luck with the Sandisk 16gb Cruzer Force. been going strong last couple months
I have had the same problem after Two years of using the sd stick I have found out that you can use a 8Gb sd card instead of a memory stick
You just need to format the drive to fat 32 format and allocate 4096 and full formate not fast formate hope this helps you I found this out today follow the links to how to use a sd card instead of a memory stick.
You cannot use flash drives that did not come with the printer. The elegoo flash drive has chitubox built into it. You may have to put chitu onto the flash drive before using it as one to print from. Every single time I have tried other flash drives, I have had the same result. The printer cannot read it because it doesn't have the proper firmware on it.
I purchased two 3.1 256gb flash drives and haven’t had an issue since. Although I did find out that these are way over sized for what the que on the printer will show. I havnt tested this but I think a 10gb flash drive would be sufficient.
This is inaccurate...
I am only telling my experience. Every single time I try to use a drive that is not the one that came with the printer, it will not work with my printer. It was the exact same with my creality LD00R. JUST SAYING.
Don't have so many files on the drive
Big Data need USB 3.0 and higher Sticks. Elegoo USB Sticks run at USB 2.0. You must invest in faster USB Sticks.
