Thank You very much I think I have watched most of Your Awesome Videos. I have really learned a lot and appreciate your work doing them. I am in my 80’s love Photography. My mobility is limited and I am putting together a small Studio in my Lana. Your videos have been very helpful to me. I wanted you to know how much I appreciate You so I can continue to enjoy my hobby. Your work is awesome.
..... and unless you are using a leaf shutter Always manual, don't rely on a camera to know what you want the image to look like, cause it doesn't. Excellent video, totally agree Thanks for sharing
Long time photographer, beginner in Portraiture. I have always underestimated a speedlight. Now I absolutely love them. I own a Flashpoint evolv 200 pocket strobe which is a beefed up speedlight basically, but a normal speedlight comes in handy more times than the strobe. Thanks for this video!
Thanks Ed for another excellent video! Your videos are my go-to learning source for flash photography. I have one question: when using flash as a fill light, can I set my shutter speed and aperture with auto ISO, then use exposure compensation to bring down the ambient to say, -0.7 stop? or I have to set ISO manually to achieve a slightly darker background?
Beginner question here: do you have to use manual flash mode with manual camera mode, or can you (would you) use manual flash mode with say aperature priority?
You can use TTL for flash with the camera in manual mode. And I’m sure you could use manual flash with aperture priority, but you’d really have to watch your shutter speed and avoid auto ISO. Aperture priority with manual flash puts you on the brink of full manual, so why not go all the way? 👍🏽

Great question. I would set ISO manually so as not to fight with the camera for control.
@@edverosky many thanks for your prompt reply.
