Never used paint stripper seemed easy but it’s always nice to watch a demo to make sure what I was going to do was correct. I enjoyed the video
Good to hear.

Cool video, I like how friendly you seem even though you're a gruff Australian dude. I think I learned how to strip the paint off of the coffee table I need to do so thank you so much

“Do this plenty of times, I’m pretty careful”
> Proceeds to get it dripping everywhere 😂
I'm not flicking the brush everywhere and taking care not to splash it everywhere, it's another story when it drips from the brush and that's what drop sheets are for.

Thank-you for this video! I have to do an entire house with a lot of paint that is flaking off of the outside trim, the back patio stone trellis, etc.
Sounds like you have lots of work in front of you.

"I'm really good at this and careful"...stripper dripping off the board
That's what happens when you are trying to put on a thick layer of paint stripper, just take care not to drip too much.

Good video. Never used paint stripper before so this video has helped. Is it necessary to sand the area first before applying paint stripper??
No need to sand before applying paint stripper but if for some reason it wasn't working then scratching the surface so it could penetrate would help but I have never come across that situation.

Thanks for the video.
If you don’t mind me saying though, it’s better to lead by example. “Do as I say and not as I do” doesn’t send a good message. I’d be particularly using eye protection.
Unfortunately I do have to agree with what you are saying. I was brought up in a time where people took responsibility for there own actions.

@@howtopaintinfo thanks
i live in australia. does anybody know where to get one of these paint scrapers from? i've never seen them before but they are so logical and look far better to use than a flat paint scraper. never seen them in bunnings or at the paint shop. thanks for any replies in advance
Most paints shops should have them or try a Dulux trade centre.

Like your videos but I would still recommend on wearing gloves and goggles at all times no matter how good a person is. Friendly tip! The gooseneck guy! Cheers!
Good point, I did forget to mention goggles.

@@howtopaintinfo Please wear Protective mask as the gas fume are very toxic! Please redo the video telling people to weak face mask as that is what the companies recommend.
how to clean residue off project? do you clean paint brush, or are they simply ruined?
Most times it will destroy the brush as in it will soften the bristles but can be washed out and reused in paint stripper again.

I like your channel thanks for you tips (but for me I would use eyes protection and gloves because you always have micro projection of the chemical and well I am very cautious ;-) ).
Yes eye protection should be used.

What was that board painted with...clear paint?
Yes, it was a water based natural clear that has a slight colour to it.

What was the brand & name of the stripper? ( purple can)
It was accent paint striper, most have the same ingrediencies.

Can you actually just let it sit say overnight and start to dry out and then remove it the next day ?
I think in most cases the stripper would dry out and the paint would be hard to remove.

People advise I can get away with scraping the flaked peeling paint off the window sill and paint over the bare timber and remaining paint but the result is an uneven surface that is ugly. Better after a few beers thought, like people.
After scraping back you will need to sand it to remove all the rough edges then it wont look so bad when you paint it.
