hey Jordan, thanks for the rig. I actually in the process of learning rig on harmony and found your rig and kind of interested on how clean you rig and doesn't really showing the chaos of fx nodes on node view is amazing. Is there any tip or maybe tutorial how to do that? Thank you
Hey! So I normally keep my rigs clean with groups! So if i make a bundle of Nodes to do something specific then I'll group it, give it a name, then reuse that group. The second way in this rig specifically, is separating the Peg, Deformer and Drawing Nodes into a upper group, and leaving all the networking in a bottom group. That way animation only have to work with the clean upper group. This has its drawbacks the more advanced you get at animation mainly because they like to rip rigs apart and add in their own stuff. So having stuff separated into groups can be a bit annoying to modify the rig. Some studios solve this by having a Composite for each Drawing with the same name so you know what you're working with in the bottom group. But that can get very heavy 😁 Oh thirdly what I like to do now is use the invite space of the node view to your advantage and really give room to your Nodes and its wiring. You should be able to see what I mean in my Raf rig demo!
Hello! I found this rig in gumroad and I really liked it. I definitely would like to learn and expand my animation skills using this rig. Is it ok if I include this in my demo reel?
Jordan, how were the Hand_Line_Cut and the Hand_Line_Solid colors set in the Color palette to function like that for drawing new hands that the line is being cut?
Hi! The hand drawing goes down into two [Colour-Selector]s. One with each colour. The Hand_Line_Cut gets cut by the Lower_Arms [Auto-Patch], and the Hand_Line doesn't. TBH, it's a more complex way to do it. It's easier to just have an [Overlay-Art], [Line-Art], and [Colour-Art] attached instead. Where the [Line-Art] is being cut by the Arms [Auto-Patch]. So if you want a line to appear over the wrist, you can just draw it on the hands [Overlay]. Hope this makes sense!
Great rig. One question: how do you create switch for handles? I can't find any tutorial on how to make one. The switch that turns on or off handles. Thanks.
Hello there! I am an animator at the beginning of my career. I was wondering if this rig works with any version of Toon Boom, or if you need the premium pack?
Not even 10 seconds in and I already can't figure it out. How do you get the display dropdown to even show up? EDIT: Okay, I figured out how to get the master controller display to show up, but now my actual rig doesn't show up in the camera view, making the controller useless.

Right click on the grey area at the top and press ‘display’ then press the drop down and change the display- this should active the controllers
