Our journey began as a challenge to create a perfect cigar for a friend who had a deep passion for cigars. With limited access to traditional Cuban cigars during the Covid-19 pandemic, we embarked on a fun project to grow tobacco and replicate the qualities of his beloved Cuban cigars. In this video, we show what it takes to take a seed and grow it into a full grown organic tobacco plant. We harvested the leafs and gave it enough time to dry in perfect humid conditions. We share what we learned about curing and fermenting the tobacco leaves. Conditions to grow tobacco might be different from your location, but pretty much everyone can grow their own tobacco at home and convert it into a perfect organic cigar or tobacco ready for rolling.
Our challenge was to make a perfect cigar for our friend who loves cigars. During the Covid 19 there was no access to such things. Mail and airmail were stuck and no more Cuban cigars. So more out of fun we started this little project to grow tobacco in the same way they would do his favorite cigar from Cuba. The target was to deliver equal quality and make this cigar at least good enough to recognize it was not a failure.
Little did we know what we would get into. This tobacco cigar-making was a challenge we did not have knowledge of. So we spend days looking at Google and RUclips on how to do it. Maybe our video can be an inspiration for all those others trying to get back to organics. We surely enjoyed growing it and sharing it with you. And yes these experiments continue as the results have been very promising in getting close to a decent organic tobacco cigar!
