Exactly why I don’t support him anymore; his injury was almost a Decade ago, and there are mangaka who work harder then him, have worse injuries then him, and still manage to produce better quality content, in a consistent pace; legitimately he’s just being lazy. What’s worse is that anime only’s are now also paying the price for it; with Leorio’s voice actor dead it’s gonna be a bitch to continue it.

Starbourne at this point the anime won’t come back because togashi hasn’t written enough for the anime to come back. We don’t even have enough for a full 24 episode season. The anime can’t come back because the people writing it don’t wanna leave a cliff hanger for another 10 years until togashi writes something else

I liked One Pieces Skypeia arc a bit more but I guess the two are too different to compare because One Piece is more adventure focused and Hxh is a bit more fighting focused

HH 2011 ended with Gon finding his dad so he completed his goal. Wish Togashi continued with HH but I don't think he ever will.

I feel like you'll really enjoy AOT. Without spoiling anything, it goes more into a seinen direction after a while. At the start it just sounds very simple as in: human good, titan bad
MiksuOW so true. It’s turn in season 2 opened my mind, and then reading the manga really solidified itself in my top 2 fav, behind Naruto. Love it’s characters so complex.

Ramlethal Valentine Destroyed i‘ve already watched and it is in my top 15 but it didn’t had an impact as big as Hunter x Hunter did. Generally shows that I consider to be close to hxh for me are Gintama and berserk, but berserk is weird to compare because of different genres.

I read almost all of one piece in april, there was a day I read about 70 chp, it can be done, but yet again, I got kinda of "addicted" with reading one piece because that's all I did

Yeah. IN 2045 when they adapt it to anime we'll probably get the same complaints we got during Chimera Arc about the narrator on behalf of the folk who have a shorter attention span.
Yeah there has been some panels that are exculsively text. It's a lot to read and to remember. Though given how political the arc is and how many different layers and characters are in the same area, the exposition is absolutely necessary.

Far more back then. Back in the 1970s. Devilman, violence Jack and black jack had a lots of adult themes but still gets published in shonen magazine.

HxH took the idea of stands and greatly fleshed it out. Hatsu are basically stands, but nen as a whole concept takes a concept like chakra or Ki and pushes it to it's absolute limits

The neat thing about HxH is that all the arcs are different genres with varying levels of darkness/maturity.
1st: survival adventure. Full on shonen.
2nd: fighting tournament. Full on shonen.
3rd: crime thriller. Shonen seinen hybrid
4th: card based MMORPG. Full on shonen.
5th: sci-fi invasion/war. Shonen seinen hybrid
6th: politics. Shonen seinen hybrid.
7th: battle royal/exploration. Full on seinen
I love hunter x hunter but the thing that keeps me away from the manga is the hiatus. You're too optimistic about "I'm not dying tomorrow, I can wait" comment. I'm afraid that the manga or the anime might not be coming back ever. even if it does, it won't continue much before the next hiatus; the mangaka has a condition with his back and is unmotivated to complete the story he started.
The Anime (newer one) is definitely worth watching and its directors have done a good job ending the animation at a point where it feels somewhat concluded if it never returns again. I can't see myself reading further than that only to get invested in new story arcs that won't be concluding anytime soon.
When there are good, fresh consistent shonen like My Hero Academia which releases the manga chapters very timely and the anime keeps on getting a 26 episode run every year or two, it wouldn't be very wise in my opinion to invest time in reading practically cancelled series like Hunter x Hunter or Bleach.

Definitely, not to rip on the manga but there are some pages where i go "how beautiful." and then there are times i go "did a kid draw this?" its still good just inconsistent especially for the early chapters, so watching the anime to get through a big chunk of the manga definitely helped.

I read the manga first, I'm disappointed.
I really like Hunter x Hunter,i consider it the best shonen period and i agree with your take on the characters.
That being said i have some issues with pacing, not with how big moments play out or with the arguments Togashi uses to connect the pivotal plot points of the series mind you (they are both masterfull) but in how he presents/develops the latter in the greater story.
At the end of the day it's not such big deal: the only diference is that those who dig the style of the author on that particular subject will enjoy the series a bit more than the few ones like me who don't, who can always use the wiki to skip the very few parts i find tedious.

I'd not call him a villain since his character evolved , his character felt like he's written in the redemption arc he started off as evil then started but as the story progressed he started to learn more and becomes more human.
HxH used to be my 2nd favourite battle manga behind One Piece but in the past few years I lost interest in it. The current arc is incredibly boring to me and I do not care about any of the characters that currently play a role in it (writing Gon and Killua out of the story was a bad move IMO). Its also convoluted as hell and not in a good way. Add Togashis lackluster art (sometimes we do not even get drawings anymore and just panels with nothing in them but text) and the hiatus to this and...yeah...

What also irritates me is that we have the Dark Continent in front of us. Pretty much a whole new world to explore, with crazy creatures and stuff. And then I get cockblocked by this succession prince arc full of things that do not interest me that much. It feels exactly like the Seaweed Pirate arc in Berserk just before Elfhelm.
I understand you and kinda agree but the arc it just getting started, right now introducing all these new things it quite overwhelm me too and i don't have a clue wtf is happening therefore quite boring. All these crazy new power sound awesome but complex af and i hope the author know wtf he's doing.
Still think is an interesting way to introduce the dark continent same time expanding the world but most important we gonna see some high level NEN user battle so im hype AF. because before this we mostly saw how the character fight with the basic of the power systems and a glimpse on how higher level NEN battle can be, but right now with all these crazy NEN master (hisoka, troops, crazy prince, zodiac, netero son and dark continent monster)we going to see some mind-blowing shit.

I strongly disagree that this arc is one of the best and everthing that is great about HxH and I am far from being the only one who thinks so. I respect that you love the series with a burning passion but please accept that not everyone feels the same way about it like you do. And just for your information: LoGH is my favourite anime of all time, so your assumption is already wrong. :) And please do not put Code Geass or Death Note on the same level. They are not even close!

@@ajmoreno8337 Berserk is not bad at all... it's the exact opposite. It's by far ONE of those influential and highly artistic seinen mangas in the world. Dark Horse has international publishing rights to the series and in it's manga division, Berserk sold x4 more copies than Hellsing... FUCKING HELLSING since 2017. Almost every large panel since the Millennium Falcon Arc is drawn to be a masterpiece to behold. From luscious landscapes to highly detailed human anatomy.
Kentaro Miura has proven himself to be the Michelangelo or Leonardo DaVinci of the visual novel industry. And is not to say the story is quite good on it's own. From stories of Battlefield during the medieval period, to English folklore, of love, sex, murder, and betrayal. Berserk's story makes Game of Thrones look like it was written by a horny 15 year old edgelord.
The only issue with Berserk is the timely releases. Because of the amount of work and detail. Miura has no way of working on the series and releasing a chapter every month. (plus his editor supposedly bitches at him nonstop because of the amount of work he does) so the series goes literally on hiatus every chapter. Sometimes it's a few months and a few times itll be almost an ENTIRE YEAR before we see a chapter.
All I can say to you is that if you want to get into the series. Be warned fellow struggler. You will wait and you will struggle... just like the rest of us.

Dude I just got into your channel and the anime you’ve watched like completely aligns with mine. Has watched Naruto, One Piece And My hero, but hasn’t gotten into bleach, JOJOS, or AOT.
The only grip I have with this manga is the visual storytelling, which is quite lacking, and takes me out of the story sometimes. That out of the way, it's one of the greatest manga stories of all time with some of the best characters I've seen. I think the best way to experience it would be to watch the 2011 anime, then continue with the manga from where it left off (and if you really are into it, re-read the whole thing and get the whole picture).
It's really cool to see someone who seems still kind of young in their journey into manga talk about what they think of the medium and your favorite series

Even with Allukas powers the plot armour argument won't make any sense since I do not remember Alluka/Manila using them powers to kill any major threat. Killua is against the misuse of Naikas ability since he considers people that do so as monsters. I believe Togashi knows better than to just use Alluka to just one shot any and every major tension endusing opponent.

I love hxh 100%, the chimera arc was soooo good, like one of the the top arcs in anime history bro, but one critique I have is how mereum wasn't being seriously injured by neteros attacks. It took netero nuclear bomb to actually endanger mereum? Come on...then what was all that training and badassmess we saw about netero for? It shouldve had significant injuries on mereum
P.s. my favorite anime character of all time is Aizen, FOREVER :D

Hunter x Hunter and JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure are the absolute best in shonen, leagues above everything else. Naruto, One Piece, etc pale in comparison.
HunterXHunter villains there the best i've seen written in the shonen genre. Like *Batman villain gallery standard* , there all written well, and they all don't center around the main character, they all have there interest and goals as well.

HunterXHunter no doubt best anime I've watched its my 2# series right after one piece manga when I started watching it I was like nah it looks too childish and I didn't have to wait long to be proven wrong right now Im rewatching the show and Im bout to read the manga and then do the same with jojos and this all just to read berserk after that and give my fair opinion if it gets into my top 3

Well, the pple whos are there for the art missed not only HxH, but also One punch man (one), angel densetsu etc... But not forever that is, just up until they were computer animated or soft rebooted with high quality drawing.

Once you get into JoJo I guarantee you will love the villains in that manga they are some of the best villains ever written.

@@alifhazmi7341 But are they though?The fights seem to be strategy based,but at the end of the day it all comes down to who has a greater territorial expansion and more powerful curse techniques which I think is a far cry from HxH.Don't get me wrong,I think Jujutsu kaisen and BC have the best fights among the current shonens I have read but HXH and Jojos fights are on a different level.The story and the lore of Jujutsu Kaisen feels a lot like Bleach Imho.

@@akshyadeep2222 read the current arc gege totally change the way he/she writes how the fight goes. Gojo is the only one who only one who have broken technique. It's true that territorial expansion mean instant win but look the way how the curse group fight gojo in the current arc. They make a great situation to actually prevent gojo to not use his territorial expansion. Then gojo solve that problem with a explanation how he did it not just with deus ex machina. Territorial expansion mean instant win but how many people in jujutsu kaisen have territorial expansion again?
What’s crazy is the entire cast is loveable and relatable at some core level. Even the villains, I love it.

I watched the 2011 version in 2 weeks. So 148 episodes. I fucking loved it!! I love Gon and killua and mereum! I wish it was longer cause it didn’t feel like a true ending. Gon and killuas goodbye was to short but it’s sad knowing that it won’t come back for a super long time. The studio doesn’t wanna leave the series on a cliffhanger so they won’t make anything else until they have enough to write

Dio, Diavolo, and Valentine are the best shonen villians.
Yeah, although people tend do disregard Dio as just being plain evil for being evil's sake (bc that's the idea), what's great about him is that every part he's in changes your perspective of him.
Kira and Diavolo have a great combination of unusual motivation, interesting/weird backstory and amazing powers, which i guess is the formula Araki refined for having cool antagonists, with some variations.
Isidora Espinoza I don't see dio being anywhere near a good villain, literally don't see him til the end of part 3 and after the big build up and hype he gets from memes the fight with Jotoro was really lack lustre, diavolo didn't get enough spotlight to make a full developed character and his fight with giorno was again so lame, they hype his stand up and I was expecting some insane fight but you just get giorno get some power up, just punch him once and win, the death loop was a cool idea but the fight to achieve that was really shit, the stands are what heavily carry jojo, the way the story is written not so much, for example part 3 felt boring since right at the start you know the main goal is to fight dio and everything that comes before just doesn't have as much of an impact and feels more like filler to buffer the end goal, lots of stand fights have really cool stands but the fights themselfs can be kind of dull I'm not saying jojos is bad. I still really like it I'm just trying to understand your thought process on placing Dio as one of the best shouldn't villains, when compared to meruem he just falls way flat in my opinion
