My beloved Bertie, the chief tester, passed away two weeks ago, a month before his 18th birthday. I am devastated; he was the most wonderful, loving, gorgeous, funny and gentle companion you could ever ask for. His beautiful twin brother Percy is still very sick, and his grieving is heartbreaking. He hasn't meowed since Bertie died and was, until then, the loudest, most vocal cat I've ever known. All the cats got sick from an E.Coli outbreak in their urine. Because of this, they shed the feline herpes virus. It's been a terrible time, and the vet bills have been utterly crippling. Some very kind people set up a GoFundMe to help me cover the bills to date and the ones to come. If you can help at all, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you. gofund.me/1991562c
I am so sorry to hear this and the struggle with the disease. I have a few cats that struggle with herpes, the sneezing and drooling. I was wondering if you are referring to "FIP?" Side note, I have a cat that sheds the coronavirus. Vet says it is gastrointestinal, not the human respiratory type. His poop is like pudding sometimes and smells up the entire house. I can be upstairs with a door closed and I can smell it, so I go down and scoop, then air out the entire house. Even in the winter we have to do this. He takes course of Metronidazole for 8 days every few months. He is more susceptible to getting FIP later in life. I also have some FIV positive cats. So far, none have shown any problems except for one, but she was treated with an antibiotic. Her fever was so high, she was baking. I told them what her temp was and they didn't believe me until they got the same reading. I am glad I rushed her to the vet crying and they saw her that day. I hope that your vet team is very determined to help them in any way. ❤ Best wishes from the US.

Whiskers and other automatic litter box companies should be calling YOU to ask if you need extra supplies at home! Even the companies that did not have a great recommendation, should be working WITH you to help get their act together. We cat people NEED someone like you to help guide us when we don't have all the answers. Thank you for your reviews
I agree. Companies should have a selection of people who test different products from different companies to get feedback. But I feel that many companies don't care too much about Feedbacks from customers. It's a shame really
I absolutely agree, however that gives the companies the opportunity to give special treatment or spend more time to QA what they give for a review. As much as this channel deserves to get these items for free, unfortunately I think it is best they don't for an honest review that the company cannot manipulate
Agree! Love these kind of in-depth reviews as it helped when I was purchasing a self cleaning litter box. Saved up and got myself the litter robot 4 and it has been life changing!!!
@@OneManFiveCats I was going to suggest that you make a RUclips short to promote this video, but then I saw… The cat tail charmer! …your RUclips game is strong. 😸
I am so beside myself right now. I've followed your film career for many many years. Using a great deal of your teaching videos in my classroom (high school teacher with a film company on the side). Here I am looking for litter boxes for my kids potential soon to be adopted cat(s) and I hear your voice and I'm thinking...."nah...could it be?" And here you are. My first video I watched of you started my journey into filming. You were talking about the Canon series of camcorders (canon a60...I think...). Made my first family film with that camera. Now rocking the A7sIII. Anyways, It was pleasant to hear your voice guide me to what would be a good choice for litter box. Hope you are doing well!!! PS: You are still my favorite DP!!!
I just want to say thank you for being so thorough and straight forward. Your videos aren't full of filler, or obviously sponsored BS, and the pros and cons you layout (in this video, and in your reviews) are practical and reasonable. Your content is, like, /anti-clickbait/, and it's so refreshing. Someone asked why you don't have more subs - I think it's because this isn't the kind of sexy, snappy content that lends itself well to soundbyte, Tiktok-style blurbs. Unfortunately that's where much of peoples' increasingly short attention spans are focused, these days. Also, people won't usually spend their free time looking at litter box reviews - just when they're shopping for one, so having a consistent audience with this kind of content can be a bit difficult. So far as I'm aware, the best thing we as viewers can do is spread the word when we find great channels like this. While it's a bit cliche, there is something to the whole "like, share, subscribe" diatribe. We can also contribute what we can to channels when they have stuff like Patreon or Ko-fi or whatever, so they can keep doing what they do. For example, at the end of the video, you mentioned your affiliate links. Anyway, I hope that people like you continue to keep making content of this caliber, whether it's about litter boxes, or anything else. Thank you for contributing your skills and interests in this way!
Been thinking about one for over two years now. I finally bought the Litter-Robot 4 based on your detailed reviews. It took about 2-3 days before my two Siberians got used to it but now they're happy and so far, so are we. My purchase was based on a good warranty, no proprietary bags, big cats and easy to clean. Seemed like the Litter-Robot 4 really is the only option for us. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into making these reviews.
@@MrUlf1337 Right away and I placed the litter Robot where the box was. One cat took to it right away, the other refused to use it because the sounds it made freaked him out. He held his pee for 24 hours and then finally gave in lol. After that he used it without a fuss either.
I also have 2 Siberians and worry they won't have enough room in any self cleaning litter boxes, so your comment made me so happy! Is it still a bit crammed in there for yours?
Bertie is the MVP. She puts these machines to the real test. With a lot of cats, you wouldn't probably even find a lot of these issues. Not to worry, she will point them out hahaha
This is the most AMAZING cat owner video I’ve ever watched - let alone cat review video! You should be absolutely viral by now. Thank you so much for this video - it’s really helped me on my search for automatic litter trays!
I'll probably not be able to afford an automatic box for some time however, I still watched this entire thing simply because it was so well done. Fantastic!
Jesus! You and your kitties are the absolute authority on this subject! Thank you so much for your dedication. You have answered so many questions that I had for my 4 kitties.
I absolutely LOVE my Meowant litter boxes and my Petsnowy Snow+ litter boxes!! 😊❤️ Thank you to Phillip (the maker of these amazing videos) for telling us about the Meowant in the Facebook group! :) I’m disabled from severe illnesses, and I cannot begin to express how EASY the Meowant is to use! And it’s incredibly light compared to the others when it arrives in its box! I could carry it easily! :) I’m definitely getting that fence though! Thanks, again, Phillip! :) My cats stopped scooping the litter out everywhere (thank God! Haha) but it still will help a lot! Btw, I was shocked that their customer service (Meowant) has improved immensely. Well, basically, I should say they actually have customer service now! 😄 I was not expecting any help from everything I had heard, but I left a review that I loved my litter box but it got damaged in shipping, so it had a weird problem. I included photos. Meowant contacted me and couldn’t believe the weird issue I was having. They’d never seen it before (and no other reviews talk about it, so I think they were honest). They gave me a full refund immediately, and I didn’t have to return it!! 😃🎉 And it’s still working, but just has some weird quirks. I still love it though! Btw, key tip with the Meowant: check the bag often, and I found that if you use Fresh Step Simply Unscented that it doesn’t make such a mess of the waste bin. Made a huge difference! Because before, I couldn’t open the hatch door easily at all from the litter clogging the mechanism. Not anymore! :) Also, I am in love with Petsnowy’s customer service! I got it at an amazing price on Indiegogo. And thank God, my first and only experience with Indiegogo has been incredible with Petsnowy! :) I’ve purchased 2, and they were packaged incredibly well! So I’m definitely grateful to have had a good experience! Scubic, Furbulous, and others put their customers through SO MUCH stress and broke a lot of promises. Furbulous still doesn’t work well. Lots of bugs! But Petsnowy is even super kind in their responses! I’ve honestly been amazed! I’ve never seen them treat anyone with anything but kindness (you can see tons of interactions on the discussion part of their Indiegogo page). PetSnowy Snow+ just released in March, and so they are still figuring things out. But it’s so well-built!! The minor issues are all being ironed out. And they truly listen. They even remembered Phillip’s emails to them, when I first emailed them. And they expressed respect and appreciation for him and his thorough testing. The machine is quiet, extremely well-made, definitely the most innovative, the deodorizer is high tech and really works, the tracking is minimal or none (depending on your cat’s behavior), it’s very nice looking, easy to clean, and fun to use! Oh and also, Petsnowy is adding an extended warranty soon! They’ve announced it several times. Since they’re so new, they’re still figuring things like that out. :) So I definitely personally recommend the Meowant and the Petsnowy Snow+!! If you’re wheelchair bound, I definitely recommend the Meowant the most. I truly cannot express how much these litter boxes have improved both my physical and mental well-being and my cats! I’m bedridden most of the time, so I’d get so upset that I couldn’t keep their manual boxes clean. But now I can!! Truly made a huge difference in my mental health. If you’re able bodied, it’s hard to understand how horrible it feels when you literally can’t do something you want and need to. So I’m super grateful for Phillip’s help and for the Meowant and Petsnowy! 😊 Also, I found a code that still worked a month ago on a TikTok review of the Petsnowy on IGG! So I got both of mine for $479!! So definitely check out the code on TikTok. I think it was Leo and Kyrie or something like that. The code still worked long after it was supposed to, so if you work fast and the Petsnowy IGG is still up, you may be able to get that incredible deal on the most innovative and aesthetic litter box out there. :)
I appreciate the cameras positioned at different angles within the litter boxes as well as outside. It shows EXACTLY where the problems pop up. The automatic litter box companies should fully appreciate your reviews on their products, since your cats can prove various problematic issues that may arise. I ordered the LR4 yesterday based on your review and understand that no one litter box is perfect, however the LR4 has less issues. My only hope is both my cats will readily use it. Thank you for the hard work you put into this review and all your others.
Phillip, I wanted to thank you for all your dedication and time invested in reviewing all the self cleaning litter boxes. Your unbiased reviews gave me the necessary information to make my decision. I purchased the Litter Robot 4. Thanks for sharing the $50 off coupon. I love watching the videos of your cats and catio! I have two catios that I have built. One is free standing outside in my backyard. The other is attached to the lower level sunporch of my cabin and allows my fur babies to enjoy both inside and the outdoors. I am the proud mom of 8 cats. All are rescues, four of which were feral kitties that were born and lived outside. Similar to your adoption and feeding of the cats in Greece, I, too, commuted daily to feed and water my four feral kitties for over a year. Then I decided that it's ok to be the crazy cat lady and adopt them and bring them home with me. They have enjoyed and thrived living in their new home for the past 15 months. Kind regards, Maria
Well I know 2 weeks ago I commented and said I wasn't in the market for an automatic litter box but after learning that it isn't good to flush kitty litter down the toilet suddenly my litter box situation changed dramatically. After a surprise bonus from work I now have a Litter Robot 4 on the way! I made sure to use the ambassador link as no other review videos I have watched made me feel as confident in the purchase as yours did. Can't wait for it to arrive!
Ahhh as a cat parent who is planning to switch to a auto-litterbox and still looking (read:studying) on each available on the market, this video of yours is a savior. I feel like watching a natgeo documentary and trust me I watched it multiple times because it’s really that enjoyable. Thanks for making the video and the efforts!
This is one of the most entertaining and informative automatic litter box reviews. I have six cats myself and anything to help keep things extra clean is most certainly welcome.
Thank you for your content. Bought litter-robot just over three years. Within 6 months it started given us pinch detector issues. Given it was an expensive piece of equipment I tried every trouble shoot litter-robot sent me and others that were online until insisted on a replacement as per warranty. Litter-robot agreed and sent only a new base. This second base last less than a year and when I contacted litter-robot they said I was out of warranty as I only had a warranty for a year. Turns out I discovered months later that because I live in the UK the warranty is actually 2 years. After mentioning this they decided to send me a replacement motor. And still machine doesn’t work. At one point paused in the vertical position (ie no sand available) my cats had to relieved themselves on my carpet which had to be replaced. Totally unacceptable. Currently looking into legal route given they provided me with false information regarding my consumer rights and warranty. Currently researching Neakasa - as you covered in another video. Half the price and from initial reviews looks promising. Thanks again but a warning to other litter-robot potential buyers. Look at the trustpilot reviews first.
You and your cars are amazing !!!! What a lovely reviews! Made my day! ❤❤❤ I adopted a cat from Thailand ( she came to our bungalow during our 3 weeks stay and we decided to adopt her in the end) and she is coming to USA next week so I am researching the best litter box from her
Finally. The end of it. I was waiting for your review of the petsnowy. Went and bought it. Haven't regret it. Thank you for making me not buy the cheap, generic machines. Save a but more & you'll get a better and almost perfect one. Thanks again for a very in depth review video.
Thank you for your videos. I absolutely love them. My girls are custodians of LR3. 6 years and still going strong. Whiskers have been brilliant when I’ve had issues with it. Looking forward to seeing your Catio feature film. Your kitties are certainly living their best lives (and people think mine are spoilt!)
Have a litter robot 3 I got 3 years ago and a litter robot 4 now. Trust me when I say it has been a blessing for scooping litter. If you have the money just get one and you will not be disappointed.
This has to be the most comprehensive review of these out there! Thank you so much for taking the time to create this video and helping us with it purchasing decisions!
Love your indepth research! I had a Litter Robot 3 which my kitties and I loved but when I heard about Litter Robot 4 and how much quieter it is, I decided to splurge and get one. It IS so much quieter than the earlier model, it's practically silent. I like the bin better too. These are so popular that I even managed to sell my old one for about $400. and put that toward LR4.
Oh wow for $400! I Have the LR3 for about 4 years now and been wanting to upgrade to the LR4 simply for that noise reduction and the seamless inside. Hate how the LR3 has that crevice/flap on the top right litter always getting in there. I question the people that tested and designed it 😂. Wish they did some sort of trade in.
Based on my experience with the Leo's Loo Too, It is a good recommendation. I own one myself with 2 cats. The only thing I did was make a step for the cats to get into it easily. It's a solid drum that makes for no leakage and easy clean up if used as designed. Sensors and app works great. Of course, all litter boxes aren't perfect and depends on the type of litter you use. Not loud at all when operating also. Not discouraging anyone from getting other litter boxes, just telling my experience, and that the Leo's Too is one of the good choices. Thank you for your videos and research. Love the video. Always looking forward to the next.
@@jazmindlt1140 Never have had that at all. This is the first case of maggots, I've heard of. Hopefully nothing was wrong with the litter from the store, or perhaps a fly form the house, found its way to the drawer. Only explanations pretty much.
I have 2 cats. Missy a 2 year old and Greyson a 10+ year old. Greyson came with a Litter Robot. I am so Grateful for this product. At various times in my life I had owned plus 20 cats and sure needed one! I didn't even need instructions to assemble it. It's that easy to figure out!! Thank You for inventing the Litter Bot. Missy is transfized by the thing!!!
Thank you so much for your reviews! I finally purchased an LR4 and it’s been great. Though Whisker’s customer service is slow to respond, they did address my issue and are sending me a replacement since I’m in my 1 year warranty. I will be buying the 3 year limited warranty though, once my replacement bottom (electronics) comes in, as it resets my “1 year warranty”
Watched the whole thing like its a documentary lol but the shot of your cat peeing straight OUT of the box was the highlight of it I must say. Amazing review! Im in Europe so sadly not the same brands but I can compare them pretty well to similar models here
As a multi-cat household (8 over here 😅) I appreciate the honest review. We just got a secondhand LR3 and it’s just okay. I wish it would connect to our WiFi though, but it’s nice to just press a button a couple times a day.
An added note for the benefit of self cleaning boxes, is for those of us with both cats and dogs, it's unfortunately common for your dog to want to help "check your cats bowel health as well". An automatic box helps if I haven't noticed my cat go
Thanks for Your work. I'm Constructing My Own, Self Cleaning, Litter box at the Moment and it's very Helpfull, to see all the different Machines and take the Good Parts for My Own Version. I will 3d Print it when ready and Share the files.
on the topic of litter choice: I've been using crystal litter in my LitterRobot 3 for about two years now and I love it. I tried to switch to clay once and immediately went back. While you do have to replace all of the litter more often, I found that it was still vastly less work than using clumping clay because the trash bin got filled so much slower. Since the LitterRobot 3 lets you dump all of the current litter into the bin with a single button, it was super easy to replace the full litter. I only need to empty the bin every week/week and a half with my two cats, whereas the clumping litter filled the bin within a couple days.
@@GirlFridayOnTuesday From the research I did, it's generally not great to inhale any kind of dust from litters. Clumping clay litter is actually where I found the most literature about the negative health outcomes from inhaling it/cats licking it off their fur, and it certainly produces WAY more dust than the crystal litter I use now. I use Pretty Litter, which makes a little bit of dust when I pour in a new bag and that's it. Versus other litter's I've used in the past had my cats leaving noticeable dust tracks around the house. Overall I feel safer with the crystal litter, just because there's so little particulate available to be inhaled or eaten by my cats.
Thanks for posting your experience with crystal litter. I like Feash Step crystals much better, too, and didn't realize it would work well in a robo-box.
Thank you so much for your thorough review of multiple automatic cat litter machines. Your cats are so cute, your videos are funny, and I want to live on your Catio!
Thank you for this *fantastic* summary, and I'd definitely be interested in hearing your thoughts on litter. Moving to automatic litterboxes, I've had to head back into the research rabbit hole.
You are an amazing person. I think I’m older than your mum and currently am having a health issue with my senior boy. I feel like I am dying from it. I sometimes fantasize adding a Maine Coon, but when I think of the bending to clean the litter I nix the idea. Thank you for your wonderful videos.
An honest to goodness Cad Dad. Man after my own heart. Thank you so much for the thorough review. You touched on a lot of points that I really wanted an answer for. Particularly for the larger babies. I used to have a cat that topped out at 25lbs...and not because he was fat. He was bigger than a lot of lap dogs. I think some of those he'd never have fit in, even if he stuck his head out the opening since he'd have had to go in to turn around. Doubt he would have backed in. Also, I have an exuberant digger. This has been extremely helpful.
I bought the litter robot 4 and after 2 weeks it hardly worked anymore. I contacted them and they explained me that I needed to install an update, it works amazing now❤ could you maybe make a short guide how to put the camera on the litter robot 4?😇
Ho-lee-crap! I selecrted this video on a lark, and am a sucker for a good product comparison video. Am not in the market for anything cat related (we have one... unfortunately). But *damn* this is a fantastically produced vid! Camera work, angles, lighting, directing, editing, and writing, music... Real testing, real cats, and humor! We tend to short videos, but in this case we watched the full vid. Bravo! Just gave it an enthusiastic share on Facebook.
Best review series ever!! My family is finally getting a cat after 13 years of waiting. Our kid finally outgrew her cat allergy 🎉We knew we wanted a robotic box, but didn't know which one. I was leaning towards the LR 3 OR 4, and Popur x5 (such a scary review). Now I'm not sure if I want the litter robot or petsnowy. We have dogs, so a covered walkway is tempting. Thank you for all the time and money that went into this, and your adorable cats for being watched 😂
This was really great! - I have the Furbulous and I am sooo happy with it. I have worries that the others smell, as the lid on the bin might not shut tight enough... No smell at all from the litter box
We have a Furbulous box and bought it on the website right after it became available after the Indigogo campaign. They replaced our box entirely twice with no questions asked when it malfunctioned. Excellent customer service. The third box we received was in March of 2024 and they had made significant improvements to the packing mechanism which fixed the issue that was malfunctioning in the previous two boxes. Although the trash boxes are expensive ($19.99 for 2 boxes) the auto packing feature is such a great feature for immune suppressed transplant patients like myself that it’s well worth paying for it.
Bahahahaha Philip! I've been with you since your Sony A7s video and when I heard your voice it triggered something in me. I love that this is yet another side project video channel for you.
Your video is amazing and it helped me choose the right litter box..and it’s of course litter-robot4. I also think it’s the only one that is the best. All others are made of plastic which will smell in the future and this one has rubber inside. It’s a big advantage !! Thank you Bertie 💸
Philip! I’ve been following you since your rhino slider release, I didn’t know you had this channel 😅 it would be awesome to see your set up when you go away for multiple days for shoots/vacation. Love these videos!
@onemanfivecats / @phillipbloom you are a God send for your time, effort, expense, professionalism, honesty, humor and most importantly your testers that work for treats and loves! Please do not stop creating videos of whatever your heart desires because with your skills you will never stop having viewers! I will soon be purchasing the LR4 using your link. ☺
I keep watching these videos in hopes of finding one for my elderly, disabled mom, but it seems even the best would be nearly as difficult for her to deal with. I've owned 2 Litter Maid boxes in my life, and gave up on both of them. I didn't have a lot of trouble with poo/clumps getting smashed against the back by the rake, but often they would break up, stick to the rake, or get left in box, which meant it stayed stinky. TBH, the biggest issue for me was the collection container: it was fragile, didn't hold a lot, furry mold/fungus would grow in it, and it didn't really hold in scent. I was always making a mess pulling it out to empty. I gave both away and the new owners loved them. I have 3 cats now - only one allowed outside - and simply using horse bedding pellets from Tractor Supply for litter works best for me. I'm home a lot, so it's easy for me to just go grab out a poo or shake the pan so urine is distributed, and the pellets don't track as much as other litter, and the used, disintegrated pellets don't hurt to step on like other litter.
Many of them would be fine but if she’s disabled then the biggest hurdle will probably be deep cleaning them but perhaps you could do that? Litter robot 4 would be best as it’s most reliable and tells you accurately how full things are. It’s also easiest to wipe clean with the huge opening.
Hi! Depending on her disability, I most recommend the Meowant. Much lighter and easier to handle and clean! I’m also disabled, and it really has helped me physically and mentally! My cats love it, and it’s the safest one out there, as Phillip shows in this video. Please see my review for more details and feel free to respond with questions. I’d be happy to help, because I know how hard being disabled is. Sending you much love and praying for you and your mom! 😊💕❤️
Wow! Thank you so much for this in-depth explanation and review of all of these boxes! I have the PetSnowy+, but I wish I had known about the Litter Robot 4 before I made my purchase. You are absolutely right about the PetSnowy weight sensors being wildly off; it's unfortunate that I cannot reliably use the app to track when each of my two cats go. I really appreciated all the camera work inside the drums! That helped show the actual process clearly and I feel like I better understand how these work, and why they sometimes.... don't.
I just spent the month heavily researching robot vacuum videos and I kept thinking that none of the reviewers held a candle to the way you do these reviews! I've had my 3 LR3s since early 2021, only complaint is the fomo I've felt since the LR4 came out haha, maybe by the time these one's die (hopefully I get a few more years) they'll be on the next version and I'll get some new fancy features ;)
Love your videos and your experience in film production shows in the quality of this channel! I’m not in the market for a self cleaning box given I have only one cat but I’ve watched ever since one of the videos you’ve put out because there is just a charm to what you produce that I can’t resist. Thank you for sharing your lovely cats and content with us! Cheers!
Thank you for this thorough review. I've been wanting an automatic litter box for a long time, but I've been wary about buying one that doesn't work well and/or is prone to breaking. This is very helpful.
I've got the PetSnowy and it's been absolutely fantastic. I do get a little peeved at the same issue you stated with the waste drawer, but it's still so much easier to deal with than the old litter boxes. I'll never go back.
Thanks! You're obviously a video professional and it shows. Also liked that you gave a nod to Ryan George (Super easy, barely an invoncience). Obviosly you aren't going to get tons of views with the particular subject matter you work with, but your ability to bring it to this level is outstanding. If you are ever in Orlando, let me know any we'll meet up for a beer.
Just bought the PetSnowy+ and I’m super excited to get it. After hearing so many nightmare stories about the LR4, I couldn’t bring myself to buy it. Hoping to have good luck with the Snowy.
I've had ghe PetSnowy for a few months now and I absolutely love it! I have two cats, an older tabby named Fiesta who prefers her regular box and a Sphynx just shy of 2 years old bamed Diego. Diego and Sphynx cats themselves are known for their smelly booties, and ever since I got the PetSnowy, I haven't smelled anything since! It is expensive but for me, it has been well worth it. Both my cats aren't that fond of one another as it is, so having separate boxes they prefer helps a lot!
I think you’ll love it! :) Just start with it unplugged and top off. Only run it to clean when they aren’t in the room or able to come in. Then, slowly graduate to turning it on to clean a few times a day with the cats in the room and top still off. Give them their favorite treats before it starts to clean and as it cleans. Then, once they’re not afraid. But the top on and put and motion sensor light inside. This has worked for everyone! :) Patience is so worth it! And definitely don’t use scented litter. The deodorizer is amazing! The scented litter will react with it though, so unscented is best. Fresh Step Simply Unscented is my favorite. :) And I agree about the LR 4. I’ve heard hundreds of really bad things, and I personally feel it’s too expensive for that. But some people have great experiences with them, and I’m glad! To each their own! :)
Thank you for the amazing in-depth product comparison review. I really needed this and was originally going to buy the Pura Max but definitely going for the Litter Robot 4 now. Loved the whole video, was really easy and enjoyable to watch it all!
Thank you for this video. We are recently in the market for one of these, our elderly cats have been explaining (in the form of dirty protest) that they no longer want to go out if it is cold, raining, breezy, a bit too sunny, not sunny enough etc! We were initially looking at the Els pet but I think you have convinced me that the horizontal turn is far superior to the fork removal method. Unfortunately, I don't think we can quite justify the LR4 but going to take a serious look at the Meowcat/Arribo. We also have dogs who find cat poo a rare and delicious delicacy so hoping that the litter will work well to hide that away.
Thank you. I won’t be doing one as I am rather sick of making videos on this subject. Sorry! Reason is I make very few videos. The only way to get lots of subs is to make frequent videos.
@OneManFiveCats haha believe me, I'll make one video per week (at least until the of this year), and I don't have that much. Maybe my quality needs to be improved, but I guess the algorithm plays a big role as well. Well as long as I like it it's fine.
@@Trainviking the algorithm picks up my videos after a few weeks. I have the same thing with my main @philipbloom channel. It took a many years to get to 200,000 and its growth is much slower than this one. I will start doing more on this channel soon….i hope! I just need to stop taking 2 months to craft each video!
Taking 2 months to make a video is what makes them so great! It's quality work and these companies need to hear what you have to say (and show), if they want to improve their brand. Keep doing what you're doing. Your reviews are so much appreciated.@@OneManFiveCats
Thanks so much for this thorough review. I was going to try the PetSafe Scoopfree as it was cheaper, but their crystal trays will get really expensive since I've got 3 cats. I'm not sure my hubby will be ok with the cost of the Robot 4, but it does look less problematic and loads better than our current issues with 3 cats tracking everywhere. Also, we empty all 4 litter boxes each night, but like you said...a self cleaning box is best when comparing to an unflushed toilet scenario for humans. This explains why sometimes they're leaving "gifts" for us right outside the litter box. lol.
Good video. I’ve experienced all the pros and cons that you’ve experienced. After the Litter Robot 3 issues I had I’m not spending $700 plus for a machine that should cost no more than $500 tops. I have the Pura Max now and have had all the same problems mentioned, but firmware and app updates have really helped with some of the issues. Not perfect but a lot better. Yes I have one of those cats that always does their business at the front of the box. If the front of the box isn’t clean he will do his business on the litter mat. You can have a huge box, but he will only go in one spot in that box. 😂
another great review video! I'm not in the market but after watching all your videos I think I'd go with the LB4. Some cat sitting clients of mine had the cat genie and as cool as teh concept was I hated. You could hear it running through the whole house and 30 minutes was such a long time, especially when they had 3 cats so it was constantly getting used. There was always a poo left behind too. I'm surprised they haven't come out with a new version of it.
Wow, this was the most informative review video ever. Thank you for taking your time. You really thought of everything. Now I know I will go and buy the robot4. Great job!
Great video! Perfect for those in the market for an automated litter box. I watch these reviews because I find the idea appealing but then I end up deciding to stick with my regular ones, which are awesome for that style. But I've only ever had a max of 3 cats at a time. Love your cats! 💖
Watching these always reminds me that they are definitely not built with a cerebellar hypoplasia kitty in mind. I’m not sure my peanut could handle even the one step ❤ it’s ok, I’m fine scooping my own and watching about yours ;)
So very sorry to read this. Very devastating for you and the cats. Keeping you all in my thoughts.
❤❤❤❤❤❤
I am so sorry to hear this and the struggle with the disease. I have a few cats that struggle with herpes, the sneezing and drooling. I was wondering if you are referring to "FIP?"
Side note, I have a cat that sheds the coronavirus.

Thank you for your reviews
thanks very much Sharon :)
I agree. Companies should have a selection of people who test different products from different companies to get feedback. But I feel that many companies don't care too much about Feedbacks from customers. It's a shame really
I absolutely agree, however that gives the companies the opportunity to give special treatment or spend more time to QA what they give for a review.
As much as this channel deserves to get these items for free, unfortunately I think it is best they don't for an honest review that the company cannot manipulate
how do you not have at least 100k subs?? This is the best produced series on cat boxes on the whole internet
Thank you. One day maybe! I don’t make enough videos to get big subs.
Agree! Love these kind of in-depth reviews as it helped when I was purchasing a self cleaning litter box. Saved up and got myself the litter robot 4 and it has been life changing!!!
Agreed!!
@@OneManFiveCats I was going to suggest that you make a RUclips short to promote this video, but then I saw… The cat tail charmer! …your RUclips game is strong. 😸
@@PhoticsTV ha! Not really. That was ages ago. I am terrible at promoting my videos with any of my channels!
Thank you. 😊
When did you remove the normal litter box? Right away or after a few days?
@@MrUlf1337 Right away and I placed the litter Robot where the box was. One cat took to it right away, the other refused to use it because the sounds it made freaked him out. He held his pee for 24 hours and then finally gave in lol. After that he used it without a fuss either.
I also have 2 Siberians and worry they won't have enough room in any self cleaning litter boxes, so your comment made me so happy! Is it still a bit crammed in there for yours?
@@simsimabim the big one tried a few times until he got a hang of. He uses it with his butt in & head out. The smaller one had jo problem.
Bertie is the MVP. She puts these machines to the real test. With a lot of cats, you wouldn't probably even find a lot of these issues. Not to worry, she will point them out hahaha
Thank you! Bertie is a boy though, short for Albert! 😆
@@philipbloomyour place is another heaven for me 😍😍
MVC, you mean. ;)
I don't have cats, I don't intend to get cats. This video appeared in my suggestions and it was very informative and interesting.
Fantastic!
I bought mine from Temu and it was shipped from California and I had no issues. I paid less than $300
Which one did you buy?
Jesus! You and your kitties are the absolute authority on this subject! Thank you so much for your dedication. You have answered so many questions that I had for my 4 kitties.
Patiently waiting for u to design the ultimate litter box. Love the channel!❤
Your voice is so soothing. Like a narrator from Disney.
I absolutely LOVE my Meowant litter boxes and my Petsnowy Snow+ litter boxes!! 😊❤️ Thank you to Phillip (the maker of these amazing videos) for telling us about the Meowant in the Facebook group! :)
I’m disabled from severe illnesses, and I cannot begin to express how EASY the Meowant is to use! And it’s incredibly light compared to the others when it arrives in its box! I could carry it easily! :)
I’m definitely getting that fence though!
And it’s still working, but just has some weird quirks.
Also, I am in love with Petsnowy’s customer service!
So I definitely personally recommend the Meowant and the Petsnowy Snow+!!
Also, I found a code that still worked a month ago on a TikTok review of the Petsnowy on IGG!
Thank you for this write up. And sharing your appreciation for these videos. I love how they are put together and informative.
Phillip,
I wanted to thank you for all your dedication and time invested in reviewing all the self cleaning litter boxes.
Kind regards,
Maria
Well I know 2 weeks ago I commented and said I wasn't in the market for an automatic litter box but after learning that it isn't good to flush kitty litter down the toilet suddenly my litter box situation changed dramatically. After a surprise bonus from work I now have a Litter Robot 4 on the way! I made sure to use the ambassador link as no other review videos I have watched made me feel as confident in the purchase as yours did. Can't wait for it to arrive!
Thank you!
@@ayuuuuuumi thank you
This is one of the most entertaining and informative automatic litter box reviews.
❤❤❤ I adopted a cat from Thailand ( she came to our bungalow during our 3 weeks stay and we decided to adopt her in the end)
and she is coming to USA next week so I am researching the best litter box from her
I have the Leo’s loo too also and the last 2 times cleaning the drawer I found maggots 😭 have you ever had this problem?
@@jazmindlt1140 Never have had that at all. This is the first case of maggots, I've heard of. Hopefully nothing was wrong with the litter from the store, or perhaps a fly form the house, found its way to the drawer. Only explanations pretty much.
@@joeperez583 that’s what I think is happening because it’s hot in SoCal 🥲 it’s awful, makes me want to go back to my old litter boxes
My 22lb mainecoon fits just fine in the LR3 and LR4
Helpful, thanks
Got a large raggie so I can relate. Stuff sticks to their furry bodies if not enough space etc.
Can u help me
Watched the whole thing like its a documentary lol but the shot of your cat peeing straight OUT of the box was the highlight of it I must say. Amazing review! Im in Europe so sadly not the same brands but I can compare them pretty well to similar models here
Watching this for the first time. The concept & ingenuity behind these machines is extremely fascinating! 🙀😻
Isn’t crystal litter dangerous because of the silica or is that just an old wives tale?
I love your videos, especially seeing all your wonderful cats. I shall look forward to seeing the catio build😊
You are the most entertaining cat film maker ever! Big smile when this poped up. 😻
You are the reason I got a litter robot 4 . Thank you
You are an amazing person.
I needed an overview before throwing down some serious money on my pick. This is an amazing video! Appreciate it!
I bought the litter robot 4 and after 2 weeks it hardly worked anymore. I contacted them and they explained me that I needed to install an update, it works amazing now❤ could you maybe make a short guide how to put the camera on the litter robot 4?😇
If you are in the US you should be able to buy their camera mount if you ask them.
Great video. Finally got convinced to buy a machine and Litter Robot should pay you a commission
Thank you. If anyone buys through my affiliate link then i get a small percentage but it's USA only.
this is my most favorite series on youtube what does that say about me
...that you're not alone 😁 Awesome review!
This was really great! - I have the Furbulous and I am sooo happy with it. I have worries that the others smell, as the lid on the bin might not shut tight enough... No smell at all from the litter box
I came for the review but am totally staying for the cats. LoL They are adorable and hilarious.
All your videos are wonderful and thoughtful. And your cats are so charming.
Thank you so much! :)
Great video review without the hype. Some others I really don't trust. Thanks so much.
You are welcome. I hope it was useful
this is such a fantastic video for anyone looking to buy an automated litter box. it dramatically changed my purchase. cheers mate
Which one did you end up getting?
We have a Furbulous box and bought it on the website right after it became available after the Indigogo campaign.
They replaced our box entirely twice with no questions asked when it malfunctioned. Excellent customer service. The third box we received was in March of 2024 and they had made significant improvements to the packing mechanism which fixed the issue that was malfunctioning in the previous two boxes.
Although the trash boxes are expensive ($19.99 for 2 boxes) the auto packing feature is such a great feature for immune suppressed transplant patients like myself that it’s well worth paying for it.
This is the most thorough review vid I've seen! Great points and love the humor too lol. Thanks!
OH MY GOD, I've been waiting for the review with the snowy!!
Bahahahaha Philip! I've been with you since your Sony A7s video and when I heard your voice it triggered something in me. I love that this is yet another side project video channel for you.
Thank you Darren.
Thanks for this. I had been considering a self-cleaning box but had never seen any of the many kinds in operations.
Your video is amazing and it helped me choose the right litter box..and it’s of course litter-robot4. I also think it’s the only one that is the best. All others are made of plastic which will smell in the future and this one has rubber inside. It’s a big advantage !! Thank you Bertie 💸
Just found your channel and I LOVE it! The kitties are adorable! Love the dialogue, and that patio! Oh my! Well done!
Philip! I’ve been following you since your rhino slider release, I didn’t know you had this channel 😅 it would be awesome to see your set up when you go away for multiple days for shoots/vacation. Love these videos!

honestly you are doing the lord's work
I keep watching these videos in hopes of finding one for my elderly, disabled mom, but it seems even the best would be nearly as difficult for her to deal with.
Cheers!
Thank you!
Hey! You showed up on my front page recommended! Super stoked to find another high quality cat channel!!
Thank you for this thorough review. I've been wanting an automatic litter box for a long time, but I've been wary about buying one that doesn't work well and/or is prone to breaking. This is very helpful.
This man has serious film making chops, this is a great series!
Thank you for sharing your experience. It was very informative.
Thank you! I didn’t realise I had a Ryan reference in this one. I did in the Litter Robot 4 review I think…
Thank you for helping me decide on an automatic litter box!
By far the best video I've seen explaining these boxes. This was so helpful and enjoyable to watch. Thank you!
Patience is so worth it! And definitely don’t use scented litter. The deodorizer is amazing! The scented litter will react with it though, so unscented is best. Fresh Step Simply Unscented is my favorite. :)
And I agree about the LR 4.
You’re right this bloke is a star 😁👍 I think I’ll keep with my original one having watched this. Thanks 😃
just bought the litter robot 4 because of this video after having thought about it for 2+ years. I hope it works out!!!
You poor poor fool....
I am dying when your cat is peeing backwards out of the front of the machine ! 🤣
😁 Excellent, well laid-out video, with a great description section!!
I'd love to see a full review of the pet snowy.
Great video by the way, I really don't understand why you have this little amount of subscribers.
This was super helpful - I've been toying with buying one for quite a while, this has helped a lot with my decision.
Thanks! They did bring out a newer model, basic some thing though.
Thank you so much for this video! It helped me to choose the self cleaning box best for my kitties.
I subbed just for the coziness of your videos. I don't even have a cat.
Watching these always reminds me that they are definitely not built with a cerebellar hypoplasia kitty in mind. I’m not sure my peanut could handle even the one step ❤ it’s ok, I’m fine scooping my own and watching about yours ;)
thanks! i am gonna get a lr4 because of this

best review i’ve seen. thank you so much. helped me decide which brand to purchase.
Got the robot 3 right before the 4 was announced lol. It’s still sweet. Plus my cats are twins so the 4 probably wouldn’t be able to tell them apart.
Fantastic reviews, your videos deserve all the likes !! 👍
Your channel deserves 1M subs
I love this video. Very helpful! I also love your home.❤
Thank you so much, great video and great effort paid, saved us a lot of headache, you definitely are the best! ❤
