Started hanging and doing pull ups months ago with gymnastic rings in the garage. Most if not all of my shoulder and neck pain has gone away. Can’t stress enough how much your back and shoulders need pull ups to stay strong and stretch all those muscles. I’m still not that good but the point is getting up there and hanging for as long as you can.

I injured my shoulder, and found that hanging provided *some* relief. But, because I had been doing a ton of physical labor that uses the muscles involved in internal rotation of the shoulder, I still had impingement and pain. I thought I was helping myself by doing a lot of pull-ups, but I recently learned that where the lat attaches, it can pull the ball at the top of the humerus forward in the socket in the shoulder, leading impingement. Once I learned that, I added dumbbell pullovers across a flat bench to stretch my lats hard enough to allow the ball to sit in the socket as it should, eliminating the impingement and the pain.

I've had a history of severe neck pain (80% right sided) that used to start shortly after waking and would last 3/4 of the day. Then it dawned on me that it was from my usual sleep position - on my stomach with my neck twisted to the right and my left cheek resting on the pillow. That meant my neck was twisted hard to the right for almost 8 hours every night! For me it was ALL in the way I slept. When I changed to sleeping on my back, the neck pain problem IMMEDIATELY stopped.

Dr Berg, I had this shoulder pain for years and when I started the Keto diet some years back , it just vanished. Afterwards, I took it easy and I went back to a low carb diet and occasionally indulged in some high carb foods. The shoulder pain came right back and it was always accompanied by a pain below the rib cage.
Until now I was thinking that the shoulder pain affected the stomach. Now I think you are absolutely right that it is the other way around.
I have now reverted back to keto diet with IF for last two weeks. So far no shoulder pain from last week onwards. Will keep a watch on this carefully. Thanks a ton for this tip.

Prophet Mohammed (Piece be upon him) told us 1400 years ago to sleep on our RIGHT side and he made it forbidden to sleep on our stomach, This was his way of sleeping and this is still practiced by Muslims until this day.
    * It is reported in Sahih Muslim (SM) that one of the companions said that the Prophet (pbuh) told him, “Whenever you go to bed, perform ablution like that for the prayer, and lie on your right side.
    * Takhfah ibn Qays reported: While I was lying on my belly in the mosque, a man shook me with his foot and he said, “Verily, Allah hates this posture.” I looked up and it was the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him.

My nephew actually dislocated his shoulder a few months ago from sleeping on his side and going to physical therapy now for it. I believe it because I've woken up with shoulder pain also after sleeping on my side. We both just sleep on our backs now.

Dr Berg, I’ve been doing clean Keto for 8 months now and overall feeling amazing. I do however have deltoid pain in my left shoulder and thought it was my sleeping position because I’m a side sleeper. Is there another cause for this? Thank you

Almost all the problems you are talking about I had them, and chewing two ounces of fresh ginger before going to sleep cleared them all up from more than 10 years ago till today. Including CFD, joint pains, shoulder pains from sleep, brain fog, sleep disorders, itchy cracked skin, pale stool, body odor .. etc. I am 60 years old today all my issues resolved and feel better than when I was in my 30's (I am even better in bed than then). I can even afford junk food cheats two to three times a week without effects. I understand that this may not work for everyone, but it could help many. Look in to ginger from a medical perspective to see if my claims hold water .. love your content and advise, but keto is not easy for everyone.

This is UNBELIEVABLE! I’ve been having bad shoulder/neck pain for over a week! Couldn’t even stretch because it was super tight. I started to massage the spots under my ribs as watching this video and guess what! Just 1 minute of the massage, my necks feels so much better! I’m definitely gonna share this video with my friends! Thank you thank you thank you!

High strength vitamin C cuts arthritis after a while like 1000mg twice a day. oh and don’t sleep with your arm or hand above your shoulders if you can help it or you’ll probably most definitely gain shoulder and neck pain/problems.

I used to suffer the right-side shoulder pain that he describes. I started OMAD (one meal a day) and cut down on sugars and carbs dramatically on an intuitional basis to relieve other symptoms of metabolic syndrome I was suffering and the shoulder pain incidentally disappeared after a few months of such practice. It wasn't until after about 2 years of such practice that I discovered KETO and how my experience matched its health claims convincing me to constantly research and adopt KETO. Dr. Berg was the first to make me realize why my shoulder pain had disappeared when I had watched the video on the subject made prior to this one; it was probably the video he suggests at the end of this video. So, Dr. Berg's remedy worked for me.

Thank you Dr Berg, as always. My shoulder pain was caused by tripping over something on my bedroom floor and crashing into the wall! I saved bashing my face and head by putting out my hands, and this jolted and wrenched my left shoulder. That was many months ago, and the shoulder pain is just about gone - I sometimes feel it during Pilates classes. I'm a 70-year-old woman and I now make sure there are no tripping hazards around!

You probably need 3 mg of Boron daily. That happenned to me. It is a mineral deficiency. We need it. People with ARTHRITIS should try supplementing with a minimum of 3mg of Boron..their arthritis pain will go away in most cases. To go to high...too fast after the 3mg will give you bone pain...so keep it at 3mg daily.

This is so true. I went through a time when my right shoulder, neck, upper back was in so much pain that I could not sleep. I went to chiropractors, therapists, you name it. I was at the point of giving up. Luckily I found a naturopath, chiropractor and she diagnosed me, due to the location of pain, with gallbladder issues and liver. Dairy seemed to be a factor also. My neck was literally twisted. I felt immediate relief in a about a week with supplements for digestion, gallbladder. It was life changing for me.
