Thank you for sharing your time, talent, and love of music and Jesus. It feels like we are just sitting on the porch with you. You are so kind and relatable. I appreciate your encouragement to just play and enjoy the process.
Wonderful spot on video for ANY instrument or skill being learned. I love the saying "Slow is smooth, smooth is fast". If you learn your fundementals and listen to this video, those tips are awesome. I learn something new every day.
That part you did with your tongue that blahlllaa thing. At 11:51 mark. Iam trying so hard to figure this stuff out I just said to myself what cord was that and was that a pull off hammer on and what strum pattern was that. Also was that 44 time or 34 time. Iam so confused. Lol 😂 😆 🤣
Thank you! I have not even started. Got my first mountain dulcimer last week. I was very surprised how tight and immovable the strings are right out of the box. Hope it gets better.
did you try tuning it and is it still very tight strings? If so I would contact the builder and ask about it. Sorry I can’t help much if I can’t see and feel what is going on. I’m sure he’ll be happy to help you.
@@BanjoLemonade I am going to learn to play with the noter. I like it. So I am very happy with that. Thank you for taking the time to help! Have a beautiful day!☺️🐶🌞🎶
Thank you for sharing! I am still learning. Your videos are very helpful. What brand is your favorite Dulcimer? I’m about to buy a good one but researching. Right now I’m using a cardboard one. I have another that’s not good because the strings are too high and yes I tried to lower them. Long story, didn’t work. Thanks!
I’m endorsed by Folkcraft. Even before they endorsed me I recommended them, they are the best in my book. Their craftsmanship is second to none. I have their links in the description to all my videos if you’d like to check them out. Blessings.
Ahh, yes, #9, don't compare yourself. As a Christian, remembering the stories and history of the Levites, you know that's near to impossible. The original entertainers (as there were no radios or cd's etc) were Levites who did not make the "cut" as a priest after 30 yrs of practice (well maybe high 20's, I guess they didn't come out of the womb playing 🤔 😉). They then went to the rich in Rome and Greece and performed for money and praise. Since they originally played worship music, turned secular, they took the praise for themselves, thus the bow. The more accomplished players were obviously worth more money, and thus, the comparisons began. There's a lot more to it, but that's the basis. Don Potter has a teaching on it, I believe it's called "Cain's Blood. He also shows the lineage hoping from the Levites "house of David" all the way to Appalachian mountain music. Anyhow, I thought you might find that interesting. Maybe you've already heard of that. As a new dulcimer player, I'm enjoying your channel. BTW, I agree with what you're saying. It should be for personal reasons.

Strings shouldn’t be tight and immovable as you describe. What kind of dulcimer did you get?
@@BanjoLemonade Ron Gibson. I also bought a noter, not knowing what it was used for. I could try that.
