I listened to and played a little in a group that was meeting in Crockett, Texas, before Covid. I'm still very much a beginner but love music. I'm a originally from West Virginia. Your various types of dulcimers are beautiful and fascinating.

I have a mountain dulcimer and I’m getting reacquainted with it after many years of not being able to play for one reason or another. What is the bowed instrument in the last sequence that the woman is playing. I love traditional folk music instruments but I’m not familiar with that one ? Wonderful video by the way ! Regards from Toronto Canada!

dulcimers in general are cheaper than violins and guitars and mandolins and banjos etc. because they are simpler a to construct and easier to make. Although these are pretty fancy looking with intricate carving, so I don't know

Getting a banjo Dulcimer is one I'd hoped to buy. We didn't get to make that trip to buy that. 😢

Do your dulcimers have 5 strings? Mine was made by Bill smith in gatlinburburg strings TN in the seventies , he was a master dulcimer maker and well known. Mine has. 5 strings which I’m told is unusual. It has wooden pegs, which keep slipping. I have used rosin shavings to help. There are no dulcimer teachers in LA..do you teach?

@@jerriedennis4137 I was advised to use Hidersine Peg Paste (Hiderpaste) on fiddle pegs. I believe traditional banjo players in the US use something called 'peg dope'.

The triangular instrument is a Bowed Psaltery. They can also be used with a bow on each side.
