Mike Clemmer is a master dulcimer builder and a man of great Christian character. This MC dulcimer has tremendous resonance! The sound just goes on and on and on.
Awesome that you were able to win such a prized instrument. I have been playing my Clemmer since 2014. I do use all 5 strings in a CGCcc configuration. It took a bit of getting used to, but once I learned teh strings I couldn't go back to just a 3 string configuration again. It sounded too way too good. I have the 1.5, 4.5 & 6.5 frets on it. It can be fretted to play most of the Modes and in 5 keys this way. I don't even play my guitar anymore. Mike put in a pickup when building it so I can plug it into an amp, but I usually just play it without the amp. The Clemmer Dulcimer is in my option the best sounding dulcimer out there. Especially when using the extra string.
Sounds great. I just got one with the same woods one he made back in 1998. He had it on his table at Dulcimer U this year. Has an old man’s face carved into the head. The first time I strummed it I knew I had to have it.
Hey, that’s neat!! Definitely a one of a kind. Could be some of the native Florida grasses there I think maybe. I grew up in NW Florida for 10 years (my dad was military there). Definitely a cool dulcimer.

Very cool. I have two Mike Clemmer dulcimers and they're beautiful instruments.
