looks great! Always been curious about Kahler systems and wish I could easily find one to try some day. Very thankful for your channel for insights into this bridge system. Looking forward to the next part of this guitars transformation with the electronics upgrades! Also love the small touch with the custom Rexylabs QR code neck plate.
I’m seeing about taking some Kahler stuff on the road!
Maybe Gary Kahler and I will do a little tour to let people check this stuff out
Inspiring build, Eddie.
Thanks, Brad! It’s been a lot of fun. I just put the Duncans in and it’s even better now.
20 tones!!!! Can’t wait
Oh, it’s worth waiting for !
I've been building partscasters with Kahlers and some Jackson mutts too - one of the best things about the Kahler is you can adjust the radius to match the fretboard - a typical Jackson Dinky neck has a different feel with a Kahler - some of my Kahler guitars are my favorites
The Kahler cam based trem is really great! Many people that say negative stuff about them have never even seen one. Their fulcrum stuff is amazing too!
Wow those Kahlers are beasts. Such a solid design in every way and you can just drop it in a strat to boot.
Well, you do have to route a little but it’s easy to put it n the right spot.
first guitar i bought with my own money had a Kahler on it, wish i still had that. always like them more than the competition.
One thing Gary Kahler and I talk about a lot is his respect for all bridges and their manufacturers.
All that is except counterfeiters that is.
Taylor Young has a couple strats with Kahlers and there's something about a traditional strat with a Kahler that I dig. Hope I win this one.
I’ll need to listen to his stuff but I just looked him up and sure enough, lots of Kahlers.
@@REXYLAB He's been in a few different bands. I recommend Twitching Tongues and Deadbody
nice! i love seeing all things kahler
Gary Kahler is such a great guy and everything he makes is top notch.
Also, he really cares about the player. That’s why now Kahler bridges are factory direct to the customer.
So cool to see how the Kahler trem works! Thanks for the great video! Can't wait to see the Seymour Duncan part!
I’m excited about that myself.
So many vintage guitars out in the wild seem to have janky Kahler installs, so it's super cool to see it being done incredibly well
Lots of times they just need some love after being neglected for a few decades.
Thank you for the not showing us how to route a guitar -- Not because of safety, but because I didn't want to watch the body of that beautiful guitar get gutted! lol
In all seriousness though, you're going to turn this guitar into a one-of-a-kind beauty. Looking forward to seeing the finished product!
Oh, she’s coming along nicely.
And as always, safety first!
Definitely strats looks way more cool when the became superstrats. Kahlers are special to me.
I bet it will look even better when I get the Duncans installed.
So excited for this one! Thank you for being generous man
Oh, I get the fun part!
Ever since The Squishy Guitar Project I have been so fortunate to find that many of these companies that make such amazing stuff are also super fun and genuinely ran by great people that love to get in on things like this.
Seymour Duncan, Graph Tech, and D’Addario have been part of lots of fun stuff I got to do. I appreciate their support on this project so much. Freeway switch is getting in in this one and that’s really exciting.
But the big thanks is all Kahler. Gary Kahler bought the strat and donated the bridge. This is going to be quite a guitar. I wish I could give one to everybody.
Wow with the Duncans that will sound sick!
It totally does! I installed them a while ago. New video coming soon.
Love your channel.great taste in Guitars i must say as well.brings me back to memory lane sometimes.
That’s the best compliment I could get!
I love guitars and especially the ones from my youth. Nothing brings me more joy than sharing that with you and everyone else like us that enjoy these amazing modern classics!
love it eddie, awesome guitar, awesome setup awesome showcase of a really pro installation of a kahler onto a strat!
The 2300 (and 7300) are very easy to install on a Fender American Strat, if you know how to route of course.
Can’t wait to see the next episode on this, Eddie you do killer work
There will be some cool things happening with this guitar!
Looking awesome man. Can't wait to hear it in all it's glory.
The 20 tone setup is really quite amazing. This thing will sound like just about anything (and a few things that don’t exist)!
@REXYLAB good God!! 20, I have too many options on a 5way. Lol!@
love the graph tech guys , a time ago i sent it a mail because i needed some info about the StringSaver Saddles they responded to me very quickly
One of the best things about doing guitar stuff is being able to call these companies I have loved for decades and discover that the people behind them are completely wonderful!
Loving all the Kahler content!! 🤘🤘
It will continue, but… I still do other stuff as well.
@@REXYLAB yes I've been watching a bunch of different content. I just found your channel recently I have started following it. You definitely have the best Kahler info. Also love the interviews with Gary. Thanks and keep up the great work. Happy New Year !!
Very awesome! Looking forward to seeing the finished version with the SDs
Coming soon!
this is so awesome . I would love to play it
@@shai550 are you registered for the drawing?
@@REXYLAB Yes
Ever since the 80s I've preferred the Kahler to the Floyd Rose. I like the feel better and it's easier to set up. I found this video not just informative but a little nostalgic as well lol. I took a friend to see my luthier who had never installed a Kahler and he programmed it into his CNC machine. I was expecting there to be at least a little paint chipping in the finish around the hole, but it was perfect, and since he saved the program, it will be perfect every time in the future. Thanks for this bit of guitar porn, and I look forward to the next one. \m/
Gary Kahler actually came to my house and I got to show him my 85 aria pro night warrior. I used to stare at that guitar and dream of owning it so it was quite surreal telling that story to the guy that made the bridge.
So I get the nostalgia, I’m all about the nostalgia!
You’ll see a lot more from this guitar and a bunch of truly nostalgic stuff in the future as well as in my current videos.
Check out the 80s playlist, lots of memories in there.
Wow, man… well done! She’s really coming along nicely. Beautiful route. I look forward to hearing the final product.
Thanks!
Freeway switch recently said they wanted in and would be contributing the 10 way switch I will be installing.
That combined with the coil tappable single coils will give this guitar 20 tones.
Awesome so far. I'm excited to see what you do with the electronics/wiring!
Oh, I’ve done this electronic setup before. It’s super cool!
I think you’ll love it.
This was fun! I look forward to seeing the rest of the videos in this series. Whoever gets that guitar is going to be a very lucky person.
They sure will be. I’m almost jealous but I can make as many of these as I want so I’ll be ok.
Oh, this is where the good stuff is happening… lol glad to have found the channel, would love this mod, never owned a quality strat especially these days, I have managed to find some okay cheaply guitars. And they don’t compare unless there is some love put into the setup.
Setup is everything!
There are a lot of shorts about this guitar on my channel.
Awesome upgrades 🤘🤘
Starting on the Duncans very soon!
Wow, great show
Awesome, thanks!
my main guitar was found with both a kahler and emgs and i’m not no where near skilled enough yet to shred with the kahler but its just nice to have the tuning stability with the option to wiggle the stick. cleaning our houses has its benefits
Wait, you found a missing guitar with a Kahler and EMGs cleaning the house? That’s amazing!
I am so glad I found this channel. The way you explain things helps me understand guitars better. Thank you.
That is the entire reason I created this channel.
My friend, I have been so screwed by techs doing incorrect things or just screwing up my guitars that I decided to learn myself.
Then I decided to make this channel so other people wouldn’t have to go through what I did.
If this channel saves you money, heartache, or gives you confidence to do your own work then that will make me feel like I have really accomplished something!
Looking good so far, appreciate the step by step explanation and how to
Glad to help
I wish I had your skill. Impressive work.
Follow my channel to learn my friend, that’s why I made it.

Thanks for sharing the process of making this a truly unique and special strat! I've never used locking tuners, but it's always good to know the proper way to string any instrument. Can't wait for part 2!
I’ll Dan entire thing on locking tuners in the future and real get into the reason you don’t want a full wrap on them.
Amazing! Well done
Thank you! Cheers!
Never have much experience with a Kahler since they aren't as widely available as floyds, I think even Schallars are more widely available.
Good thing is that they don't have as narrow string spacing as floyd rose.
Actually you can adjust your string spacing super wide or super tight.
The Kahler is insanely adjustable and will even do multi scale and is available up to 10 strings.
I’m going to try to get Gary Kahler to do a big tour of Kahler equipped guitars to let people play them and see how amazing they are.
@@REXYLAB that is nice to hear, I will keep them in mind when it comes to custom build.
You mentioned factory, did they do any bridges with piezo saddles?
This is so awesome!!!
Ironically I'm putting my guitar fetish Floyd on my 40th anniversary strat this week! Going for a flush mount... I need to cut the anodized aluminum pick guard to fit the Floyd... Got my rotary tool, and hopefully it all goes well!
This guitar is gunna rule! Sure would be awesome to win it and have a cousin for my squire!
Why flush mount?
Scared to route lol! I've installed the bridge... And now realize, flush won't work unless I get a longer block, springs are rubbing the cavity... Recessed it is!
Looks gorgeous! Love your work man!
Thank you so much!
I’m so happy you enjoy what I do.
Can't wait to find out how it sounds once those new pickups are installed! Looks amazing
I’m excited to show it to you all.
Watching you work on a guitar is like watching Micheal Angelo paint the Sistine Chapel. Awesome job Dude!!
That is so flattering! Thank you very much.
That is so flattering! Thank you very much.
Glad to see you’ve partnered with Gary! Spread the word, they get a bad rap! Biggest thing with any tremolo: proper setup!
Are they still selling the aircraft aluminum cam? I think they’re great, great harmonics
Setup is everything, you absolutely nailed it!
Gary Kahler and I are about to start a podcast. The shorts on my channel show our progress.
@@REXYLAB
Awesome!
Tell Gary we want to hear NAMM stories and any good artist stories he has! (I’m a huge Slayer/Priest fan)
Also the history, how it all started with Dave Story. Another interesting thing would be get Robert Fripp involved somehow….. maybe see if he’ll do an interview. I want to know how he strings up his Kahlers with his “new standard” tuning.
What a fantastic video have a good day also have a wonderful happy holiday season also a fantastic happy new year ❤😊
Thank you so much and I hope you have a wonderful holiday season and happy new year as well!
Gonna be badass !!!
You got that right!
Great work!
Thank you!
That's a gnarly strat. I'd rock that!
When the Duncans are added with the custom switching you’ll really see some amazing stuff!
Seymour Duncan coil tappable quarter pounders can sound like a P90 or a classic strat pickup.
The freeway switch will give you the classic strat switching plus bridge humbucker, neck humbucker, middle tele sound, 4 way tele mod sound and a bonus extra quacky funk sound. Plus with the full output of the pickups it can sound like a Les Paul jr or a strat with P90s and even more than that.
The next video will be where it’s at for sure!
I loved it!!! 😍
We are just getting started my brother!
More Kahler please!
Next week is the newly redesigned 2024 bass trem!
Awesome!
Hell yeah!
this is so aweseome lol. I would love to build one just like it
Follow along and I’ll show you how.
I've heard stripped truss rod issues on the Performer Strat. Did you encounter that for this one?
Looking forward to the part 2!
Cheers, Matt
Nope and I have no idea where you heard that. Sometimes things get damaged at the factory and QC doesn’t catch it but with a big company like fender with good QC rarely has such a thing slip by.
Lovely strat ❤.
Thank you. Perhaps you will win it.
@@REXYLAB it'd be great, because I don't have any guitar 🙂
Have a nice one!!
thats gonna be a cool instrument. also set up properly.
If nothing else it will definitely be set up properly!
Awesome job !!!! hope i'll win this beast :P
I wish you luck! You have as good a chance as anyone.
When I get the Leo Jaymz Monsoon I want to mount a Khaler on it. I hope I can do it right.
Just make sure the bridge is American 6 hole and if you don’t know how to route pay someone to do it for you.
Kahlers come with a template so you should be ok.
@@REXYLAB it may not be possible. The Leo Jaymz Monsoon is a non trem fixed bridge. Not like a Les Paul but a lil more like a telly
Would love to see you put a Kahler locking nut on it instead of the Kahler string lock. Locking nut is so much better than the string lock and gives the trem more range. More work I know but worth it!
I understand that belief but the string lock (that it has now) is every bit as good as a locking nut if, and it’s a big if… it is set up correctly.
Probably every Kahler equipped guitar I get used needs to be set up because they are almost always way out.
Part of what this guitar will do is be used to show the painstaking step by step procedure of setting up the 2300 correctly, including the nut and behind the nut string lock.
Honestly if I didn't have my parker nitefly, I think I'd try my best to get something like this as my main guitar. It's awesome!
The nitefly is bad as fuck! I’ve always wanted one. Got a real good friend with a few really nice Parkers.
So many guitars, so little time.
My local stores managed to get more modern parkers and guitars with accutune 2s before they got anything with a damn kahler in it, and by then i had my nitefly. @@REXYLAB
Thankfully I managed to play an old 80s jackson with a real kahler, and honestly it felt great.
Hmm ive certainly thought of replacing my floyd with one of those. Maybe 1 day
Certainly you could but I would do that with a Kahler Steeler. There are lots of choices and they are fantastic.
A Kahler cam based bridge can feel like so many different bridges you can customize it to your particular desires.
Oh man I've never wanted to win something so badly in my life! I've been thinking about it for months. I cant wait until its "done and won" so i can stop obsessing over it! 😂 lmao! But really, what a beautiful instrument you're building there. I might re consider the locking nut though. Do you really think its necessary?
It has the string lock on it now. I was going to leave it off until the sound demos were done but I changed my mind.
However, with the locking tuners a behind the nut string lock or a locking nut is unnecessary. But… it will increase travel.
So as I said, it’s on there now.
@@REXYLAB Not that im complaining, im sure its so beautiful! I WANT THAT THING SO BAD, AND IM NOT SHY TO SAY IT! I will take such good care of it if i win. Whoever gets it is so lucky.
Beautiful killer
She’s definitely coming along.
Congrats. Cool nice mod. How much was it weighing B4 and after?
Well wishings and all the best furthermore 👍🏻.
The weight didn’t change in any noticeable way. However if it’s too heavy and aluminum cam is available to lighten the Kahler up.
@@REXYLAB thanks for your reply.
First guitar I bought was a $70 glarry now I'm on $200 Ibanez geo. I play like a wizard, hope I win
I hope you win too!

I bet you could!
You have as good a chance as anyone else!
@@REXYLAB here's to hoping. You can look on my channel and see all my music. It shows I'd put it to great use.

Hello all. Were those “RATIO Locking Tuners ®” being used? It was nice to see Graph Tech donated “RATIO Locking Tuners ®”. And I really found it useful to see how to correctly use the “RATIO Locking Tuners ®”. Happy New Year and “RATIO Locking Tuners ®” to everyone. 😂
Hashtagohmygodlaughoutloud !
Happy new year to you too and just incase you didn’t hear, Graph Tech donated ratio locking tuners! They are on the guitar now and even strung properly. 😂

Does your viper have a tune o matic or something else?

Hey! Could you please send me to someone competent to teach me?
Come to Vegas to get trained at Kahler International.
@@REXYLAB meant by you lol when I’m in town
How is a "wrap around a locking tuner" doing it wrong? I"ve used locking tuners for years (20+ it seems) and have never come across a tuning related issue because there was a wrap around the tuner. Excessive wraps are bad on ANY tuner. 1 wrap has absolutely no effect. Second, why in the world would you not use a full angled wood shim. Business cards are really lame way of doing it. Maybe you are going to take the next off when you do the pickups and will properly address the problem then. Maybe you wanted to estimate the neck angle so you could PROPERLY shim it with a wood shim cut to the same size of the pocket?
Are we going to be able to buy Kahler trems and get them within a year? Parts? Seems like we went down this road in the 80s 90s and it didn't end so well for the Kahler player. Other than "feel" (which is highly subjective) there are no known benefits to a Kahler. It is not superior nor inferior in any way shape or form to entry level Floyd rose systems. This seems like an endeavour just be endeavoring. Taking the road block road to truly see if it is a dead end. With no advantages, and significant disadvantages in cost and labor, Kahler is doomed to the same course it took 30 years ago. A basic google search just confirmed my thoughts. Very little is available online. Compared to the Floyd Rose of which you can get ANY COLOR you want. Next day via Amazon in most cases.
This reminds me of the Delorean Car. Hopefully you don't end up in a Hotel room trying to sell a briefcase full of coke to FBI agents.
Hey, there you are! I was wondering what happened to you.
Hey everyone, this is the complete dildo that knows absolutely nothing but thinks he is smart. Check his other comments on my channel and you will see that he is a complete fucking idiot.
@@REXYLAB Smart??? Who's the idiot with the business card stuffed in the neck pocket? Whos the idiot trying to develop a Floyd rose lock that doesn't "fully lock" Who's the idiot that thinks that a full wrap around a tuning post is bad but cant tell anyone why? So I point out obvious limitations with the Kahler and Im the idiot? Who's trying to create answers to problems that don't exist? You act as if there are no solutions for floating tremelos other than this Kahler.
And have you got an "incomplete dildo?" Or do you just have "complete Dildos?" Maybe that's what is up your a$$ which limits your ability to deal with the public.
Every single point I made is valid. You have no valid reply other than to call me names. My suggestion to you is to take some de-escalation classes. That way when you pop off to someone like me in real life you don't get seriously hurt. It's easy to be "super tough on the internet" I'll check back in a few years. I'll see how many Kahlers you've sold. Ill check back and see how many "float or nonfloating" devices you've sold for the Floyd rose. My guess is very very very few. AND I'm willing to bet you will still be under 5k subs. AND I also bet your Fender will have stability issues until you fix it properly..........I'd suggest taking it to a pro. Maybe take it to somebody who isn't afraid of a router. AND can handle valid criticism. Maybe the business card you shoved under the neck still has the number of a pro setup shop you can call.
@@benburnett8109 Ok, Mr. Dildo... I'll explain. Locking tuners are designed to eliminate wraps because the wraps stretch and cause tuning instability. Business cards are also just fine as shims.
I would not have come at you like that if you didn't come a me like a complete dick. Don't start it if you can't take it.
@@REXYLAB 5 months later I can take it just fine.............how are you doing on your Kahler products? Have you sold 10 of them yet?
