I've always viewed the Maybach as corporate executive transportation for the boss and clients. While the Rolls Royce has presence, the Maybach looks like "new money", a little show-offish. I personally prefer the standard Mercedes S class with its shorter wheelbase and more classic proportions. If you must go Maybach. the two-tone is mandatory, otherwise the neighbors will "one-up" you!

One of my ex's said the exact same thing about my car "backseat paradise," so I guess that is something my 4 Runner Limited (from back in the day) had in common with the Maybach.
In terms of being chauffered around the maybach crushes the flying spur and rolls royce ghost and may even come close to the phantom. It is just so relaxing and spacious. Anyone agree?

The Maybach is clearly above the Bentley in the class of driving comfort. The seat in the Bentley is more plushy, so this may have made a softer impression. But as a Bentley driver i can say that the MB dealer/workhop availabiity is on a other Levvel. You can get stranded with a Bentley, but not with a MB, a they dense dealership network and bring you quickly back on the road - also for a decent price.

I am a relatively new Maybach customer and I have since picked up my fully loaded 2022 Maybach S 580 for $240,150 USD and I am still waiting for the S 680 V12 version to arrive in the USA on Mercedes Benz website so that I can place a second custom order. Either way do you know if they are going to give the USA the S 680 V12 variant or are they just going to leave us with the S 580 V8 version?
I love that car but at that price point the doors should be magnetic to stay put when open and I would have too have the windows tinted with all that stuff in it .
How would you compare the maybach 580/680 to the gls600? I imagine they are the same car inside (backseats), but would you say the bigger one is better?
Gls is a big car which means the center of gravity is also higher means that suspension need to be firm, while s class/Maybach is opposed which means the suspension is more comfy 😉

I beg to differ, RR and Bentley will have to get with the times and upgrade to the digital era. Take a look at the New RR Ghost 3 interior and compare it to even the new Mercedes EQS, which is a 1/4 of the price, and you can easily see that the Mercedes brand is a decade ahead of their competition when it comes to interior design / technology. Once the hyper screen is placed into other models like the G Wagon and S Class, Mercedes will dominate the luxury auto market well into the Mid/Late 2020’s.
@@natecoleman7985 I'm not talking about cockpit digitalisation, I'm all for that, though it's tricky from design point of view as tech ages rapidly, bezels, resolution, ppi, brightness, UI..., analog is much easier to remain timeless, which is why some brands remain conservative. I only have problem with excessive LED lighting.
@@natecoleman7985The EQS is the most unexciting Mercedes ever made. Overabundance of screens, gimmicky lights, dated UI and design (vents especially!). Not to mention the outside looks like a Honda CRV. I've just seen Chinese Ev's in Norway, with a more compelling interior design (ex Hongqi E-HS9). Luckily, the G Wagon is the only Mercedes they haven't yet ruined.

Do you think the E-Active Body Control aka "Magic Body Control" will get rid of these issues with bumps, making it more akin to a RR?
I've experienced E-Active Body Control on other MB products and I don't think it would be enough to bring it up to RR levels of smoothness.

I'd take the S-Class over the GLS any day. Even more legroom, and more aerodynamic shape means a quieter ride.
Gls is a big car which means the center of gravity is also higher means that suspension need to be firm, while s class/Maybach is opposed which means the suspension is more comfy 😉
