An instant MCM classic. A crappy but potentially interesting car, some useful information, a hilarious music video, and some funny stories at the end. I generally enjoy everything you guys do, and if someone came out of the blue and asked me which videos I liked the best I'd probably tell them the bigger builds but to be honest the "nugget" videos may really be my favorites - I think it boils down to entertainment value. I think I'm most impressed with the result of the bigger builds but the nuggets are way more entertaining content.

In the year 2000 (yes I'm not a Millienmum), I ran a Peugeot dealership in Sydney and we couldn't giveaway the base 206 whilst the GTI model had huge waiting lists. The 206 was a great handling car and I'm sure the MCM team will build a great project car. FunFact, after leaving a Peugeot dealership i joined Suzuki Australia as their GM and I launched the Suzuki Swift Sport in Australia in 2006. The media launch was at Canberra and I fondly remember driving the car around the old Police driver Training Centre. I owned an earlier Swift GTI that i used in club motorsport for many years. Now after a Swift Sport so my son and I can compete against each other.

As a former owner I can tell you the 206 is a great platform. Peugeot has a knack for getting handling right. Plus just 2 springs are enough since the rear is torsion bar. Also, at least on mine, you had storage under the passenger seat. Just lift the seat bottom. Great place for my gun and a couple of extra mags. The swift has no chance if they put the right wheels and tires on the 206.

The car is a joyous ride but be careful with the slack gearbox, gear-changing needs to be noice and tight 👌🏻

Up until around 2003 (before the x07 cars hit the roads) their road cars were known for good handling and driver engagement on a low budget, the 206 being one of them. Actually the TU5 in this car is a completely epic engine. In race trim these make 260bhp. It is one of great 4 cylinder small capacity engines to come out of Europe. Plenty of parts to extract plenty of power. Can also build the 206 like Lego with items from other Peugeot's. The car actually has a load of potential. PSA (Peugeot&Citroen) are also the most successful brand in the WRC and also have outright wins in Lemans.
My first car was a 1995 Peugeot 306 with the same engine in 8V guise. Peugeot kind of lost their way with the 206 and up until recently which is a shame as they were kings in the 80's and 90's.

Still rolling with a TU5JP4S in my Citroen C2 VTS - heavily modified with high lift cams, springs retainers, build bottom end to withstand the load, ported and polished heads, Its really fast and really stable on the corners amd woul defenetly smash this Swift. The only unreliable part in this engine is the coilpacks - they tend to break and do missfires and what not.
The person who build mine is a Rally driver and he really knows whats he is doing with that TU5 - his words for this engine "we race them so hard that even with no oil they still finish the race no problem"

My first Daily was a peugeot 208 Puretech that came with a 1.2 3 Cylinder turbo. Pushing 130HP and 230Nm of Torque. It was a great car driving up at the mountains in Malaysia. i did moderate modifications onto the car for added stability and aggresive cornering speed. Such as a full stage racing bar, wider rubber and better springs to lower the car. This small modifications shows that this Peugeot 208 1.2 Puretech was a great at modifying them and great car to start on european style if people are not so looking forward to the obvious brands. But i sold my 208 1.2 and will be getting my 208 1.6THP soon that comes with a 200hp & 300nm torque stock. To be honest, a lot of my friends and family told me that peugeot brand in malaysia is not really supported, but for me when i stepped into the 208 Puretech, it was love at first sight. So when you guys posted a video that Moog got a swift sport and marty got a 206, i was so happy i smiled all the way till the end of the video! And Moog was asking what is Peugeot great about?
