Hey, I feel you. I bought an 04 Sunfire in orange brand new when I joined the army in 05. When I traded it in 2010, I was heartbroken. I put many miles on it and had fun for each one. now it's 2016, and I found my old car at a dealer. going to get it next week.
Nice! I own a 1998 Pontiac Sunfire SE (which stands for "Special Edition..." ironic I know). They are nice little commuter cars! Very fuel-efficient, comfortable, and the cops really don't care about the car even though I do speed in it. I've owned mine for about 8 months now, and I bought it as a beater and I really fixed it up!
I have an 05 Sunfire that I bought a couple years ago at 94k km's. Just rolling over 108k now. Sadly it's automatic, but I still love my car. It's still fun to drive and gets me from point A to B and has never let me down.
I just had to finally junk my blue 2000 Sunfire. It just about killed me. It was the best car I ever had. It had close to 200k miles, and I owned it for 16 years. She finally gave out on me two weeks ago. It was a sad day. Thanks for the video.. Good memories.
i'm in this SAME situation now with my 1999 Sunfire. I don't want to let it go and I don't want to spend 1800+ on an engine and other repairs that it needs. I am sad about it!!
I legit wave to every other sunfire driver that's probably because I have to most riced sunfire there is a fiberglass front end ,fart cannon ,big wing and all it's got for mods are some caped fuel injectiors and a cold air intake , but for a stock car your review is great
I need to see that! I have a 2000 sunfire and i don’t know wether I should start toying with it cause it gets so much hate I feel like people look at it like a polished turd
I remember back in 2009 when I was only 4 I was saying stuff to my mom about the sunfire and that I wanted one and she told me that they don’t make them anymore and I was sad lol
I have an 04 and I love it, its comfortable to drive got good power, sounds pretty good, the only things I don't like about it is the dome light flashes sometimes when engine running, one of the outlets doesn't work which are normal things on an older vehicle, and the headlights suck, but I think they just need to be adjusted because I think they're pointing up and that's the problem
I had a '96 Sunfire in purple and an '01 in pewter metallic with plastic metallic wheels (the '01 was stick shift). Both were two doors, great cars, but got a lot of compliments on the looks of the '01.
I can't aruge with you. After owning 15 Jbodys (Cavaliers and Sunfires). They definitely grow on you, when it comes to cheap to maintain and reliability, Nothing in there class can touch these cars. Even as a derby stand point, every cavalier or sunfire I've completely destroyed, still ran perfectly fine on its way to the crusher.
@@Reefer-Rampage69 I know how hard it can be, it took me years to find my 1998 maunal Cavalier and my 2000 maunal Sunfire. I've had 23 I think now, good luck on the hunt
I have this same car only it's red. It's been a good car. The only difference is the rear spoiler is longer and more straight instead of curved. The transmission crapped out so instead of getting rid of it I decided to see how much it would cost me to replace it. I found a solid auto shop that in the end only ran me $1700.00 for the new transmission, motor mounts and new wiring. All told I know it's a bit of change to spend on an older car but in the end, I don't have to make any car payments on a new ride. Car runs like a dream to this day.
Omg my now ex wife Angy and I had a '96 Sunfire 2 door base model, she had it before we got merried in 1999, and it was a a little go kart that couldn't go LoL
My Oldsmobile Alero is a similar story. Cops don't care about it, coworkers find it lame. But I don't care. I bought it for 800 bucks. Put a bunch of new parts in it. Currently sitting at 304K clocked in it. 2002 Oldsmobile Alero GL coupe with the 3.4L v6 paired to a 4 speed auto. They also offered a 4 cylinder with a manual package.
I still have a 2000 Sunfire SE 2DR. What’s not working? The AC, heater, domelight and rear defroster. The car has 134K and still runs like a scalded dog though! 👍👍👍👍
I have a 2001 coupe se I really do want to like it but Everytime I have positive vibes with it. It won't start. I've already changed the battery three times going on four. The battery gives up after three weeks. I hope it's not a wallet killer to fix it. Can anyone help please?
haha this review is more like a poem to the sunfire lol yeah its awesome i have a 98k miles sunfire and have the money to get a new car but man the sunfire has never let down

Seriously? Thats pretty cool
SUNFIRE: the perfect anti-clout device.
Love the 2.2 it was one of GM's best engines.
They are good engines! Not as solid as some of the other GM engines but definitely better than an Ecotec.

I think SE means standard edition
How well does it hold up I’m about to get one for my first car
@@dezzieb0042 mechanically it was pretty good but the frame rusted out and that’s what killed it. 😂

It’s true. I run red lights, stop signs, speed a lot and no cops ever pulled me over. I’ve gone 90+ by a cop in 65. He did nothing
i love the toaster in the trunk lmfao

It's your car you should make ot whatever you want

I have a red 2000 two door Pontiac sunfire and I love it. Before my 2000 sunfire I had a 1997 4 door sunfire and I loved it as well.
Rpms per second = revolutions per minute per second

Those 2.2L OHV 4s were not refined but very reliable.
Nostalgia! I used to have that exact model but in black. Such a great first car.

I had one of these for a while. It drove great! I never had an issue. I even took it on some gnarly mountain roads.

My homie has a turbocharged sunfire that shits beautiful
great vid. i strive to stay under the radar, love lemon candy, and just bought one of these

Hilarious review. Made my day. Miss my 2001 sunfire.
I always thought the Sunfire would make an adorable daily-driver
My brothers girlfriend had one of these, put a crack in the block, they drive an '00 PT Cruiser now. Man I miss that old Sunfire.

I LOVED my 2000 Sunfire SE. I’d buy it back and drive it again, if I could.
I saw one other sunfire in town then I bought my car and there's like 10 others now
My sunfire is def a cop magnet i wrapped it matte black put pink guts and underglow + a lot of stickers at the back
Had the same car, dark blue. Got me through college when the Cavailer had its day.
I love th design on them!
This is so wholesome ☀️
Awesome review, spot on. probably the sportiest F.W.D. platform ever. I tried to get my friends friend convertible. Didn't work out.

Interesting perspective, but I've heard police target cheaper cars driven by poor people.
I got busted for "stunt driving" my '01 Buick Century... Pretty sure that's an oxymoron
they target hella nice cars too..

"6300 rpm's per second"
Those bumpers look like GT bumpers.
A nice woman let me park her Pontiac sunfire before, I wish she hadn't sold it, because I would have bought it off her for $400
The real question is will it cut up their shooter
