    Huge thanks, good idea. Took my Anser to the golf galaxy having no idea there was a ball bearing in there and the kid behind the counter told me all about it and was obviously not in the mood to touch it. Took way too much searching to finally find someone with an answer to the anser. Thanks for taking the time to make a nice video tutorial on it.

    Just picked up an Anser 2 for $10. Shaft is in rough shape with pitting and rust. Thanks for this great tutorial. I'm going to give the compressed air freeze method a try.

    I just don't understand why people have to shine up these old PING putters. A high polish finish would create so much glare in the sun, it could almost blind you at the right angle. These putters were made to tarnish up and get that nice dark patina to them for anti-glare properties. To each their own, though.

      I guess some people like that shiny look better. It's all about what you like.

    Any tips for a ball bearing that’s not budging? Hole is drilled, I’ve tried compressed air combined with the punch but it’s not budging. Is heat a better option to loosen it?

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  Год назад

      Yeah little heat and give it a few good hits with the punch and hammer. You'll know when you get it.

      Just cut the shaft. I don’t know why that wasn’t said in the video. Go to goodwill and find a putter with a decent shaft and replace it

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  Год назад

      Why would you cut a perfectly good putter shaft? Secondly if you cant get it out, cutting it wont do anything for you...youll just end up with a cut shaft stuck into a putter head. You going to drill through a stainless steel ball bearing?

    Link for the shaft plug? And can you do a short video of filling in the hole brass rod?

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  2 года назад

      just to to golfworks and search for it. the brass rod was bought on amazon. they come in different sizes (just get one that matches up with the size drill bit you used).

    Can the ball bearing be also be used for swing weight ?

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  7 месяцев назад

      it could, but it weighs less that a half gram, pretty much zero effect.

    Is the metal used in this putter head beryllium copper?

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  7 месяцев назад

      they vary, the only two ways to tell are the BeCu are not magnetic. The bronze will slightly be magnetic. THe other way to tell is if you use steel wool, the BeCu will turn orangey/red, while the bronze will turn gold.

      @@G2niverse thank you sir for your kind reply. If you could be so kind can you please help me. I own a an old bettinardi carbon steel putter which I use and it’s my favourite putter. It has begun to rust, and I don’t have access to special chemicals etc where I live. Can you please suggest something to remove the rust and get a coating on it like gun metal etc. Thanks so much

    • @G2niverse
      @G2niverse  7 месяцев назад +1

      the easiest way to do this is to remove the head from the shaft. You can buy golf club head epoxy on amazon to put it back when you're done. To remove the rust, soak the head in vinegar and baking soda for about 24 hours. Then rinse in cold water to neutralize the reaction. Dry it and use either a red 3m sanding pad or a 1x30 sanding belt to smooth and remove any finish. Once you have it all cleaned up, use a degreaser to fully clean the head (wear surgical gloves so you don't get oils from your hands on the clean surface). Then to get the gun metal coating, buy on amazon Birchwood PermaBlue. making sure nothing it touching the surface of the putter, heat it up with a hair dryer then apply the perma blue using a cotton ball (wear gloves). Keep rubbing on more until you get the desired color you want. Then rinse in cold water to neutralize the bluing agent. A light coat of motor oil every 2-3 weeks will keep your putter in good condition.

      Depends...if it's a show piece, go with the classic ping grip. If you're going to use it, go with what works best for you.

      Yeah I have the superstroke gt 1.0 pistol. Not too big...for me its perfect. The ping ones are nice, id go to a golf galaxy or something similar to test feel them out on their putters.

      No. You need to pop it from the bottom. Its pressed into place from the butt end.
