I raced harescrambles for last 4 years and figuring out my down shift timing for corners made such a difference in my over all finishes. So many times I would forget to down shift while braking then enter the corner in too tall of a gear. Game changer for sure
My problem is knowing what gear i'm in, sometimes that 2nd and 3rd gear feels the same and 3rd to 4th too. I do drop down to first to reset my brain but usually 2 corners later and i'm back in the unknown zone
I have to bring my shifter up a notch, one of the mistakes I've made recently is while breaking in new boots, I go to shift up and I accidentally shift before I disengage the clutch, admittedly though, I've been lazy and didn't make adjustments when I bought the bike from the previous owner, I just wanted to ride hahaha
I don’t have dirt bike but I watch a lot of ur vids and I’m really hoping to get a dirt bike this Christmas and I would love to race love the vids keep it up
Great video guys I’m glad it’s not one of those countless videos of guys explaining how to powershift all though shifting without the clutch is a valuable technique to some when competing I’m sure there’s many kids that have had to go home and ask their dad why their bike doesn’t shift and they can’t pull in the clutch anymore 😂

Amazing, thx for the help guys, I have 1 question, I love motocross and I have a crf250r , When I go for a high jump, I seem to let my legs my off the pegs, How can I make my legs stay on the pegs on high jumps?
I just got a 2020 yz250f a few days a ago, comi from a yz250 I love it more even power and just other things like the air box and the fact I don’t need to use oil in fuel. It’s like a mini 450
Im a complete new rider i got my self a lil pitstir pro 2005 gpx. Im hopeing your channel teachs me what i need to know to ride right. Nice work tho bro
Hell yes. For me, when I'm riding, I don't or can't reach down far enough with my toe by bending my ankle, so I end up scooting my knee way forward and dropping my hip to try and reach with my foot still at a 90. It's no bueno.
sounds like you need to raise the shifter a little bit. If you think your foot is just too big, i believe some aftermarket ones are longer so that could help too
@@codeybean It is below level now, so I think it would be better at least a little higher. I thought I remembered it hitting the case or the slave cyl cover if I moved it higher, but maybe it got bent and I could make it work. Will try it next time
@@TheMxFactory does affect technique and body position for sure. I'm gonna try and lift it higher, or swap for an aftermarket that might clear parts better so I could get good position.
@@CommieHunter7 Are you new to riding with mx boots? It definitely takes a little while to get used to if you are. I have a tech 7s in a size 10 and Ive run my shifters flat with the peg.

Hi there. Did I understand that right you don’t use the clutch to down shift ? For some reason I always thought you could get away with out clutching on the way up but you would destroy the gear box doing it on the way down. Is this not the case (no pun intended)
