When you move the main axle rod (as you did by accident touching it) and it moves freely up and down and makes metal sound - it's more than dead and need to be replaced. It means 1. There are no grease in it, and 2. it is worn out. The trans part is probably fine, but because of this axle situation you should feel vibration speeding up.
@@Seyesworld Too many possible problem points to guess correctly. Need to check step by step. Could be tyres (unbalanced or uneven wear), bearings, engine related (chain, harmonic balancer, engine mount), gearbox, clutch. Basically everything that rotates. You can find all needed info on youtube.
Mine has even more side to side and up and down movement. Fairly new cv axles and it happened all of a sudden. Very bad “wobbling” from 20-40mph. Figured it has to be the carrier bearings or something internal in the trans 👎🏻
Looks like mine issue was the CV axle! However all these axles will have some play inside the transmission output shaft bearing! If replacing CV axle does not fix problem may need new transmission! I replaced with new CV axle with new seal and problem of vibration and oil leak at axle seal stopped! James

@@keithrobinson2756 I have inspected them again, and after some research I figured out that a little bit of movement is not an issue(I have also send a video to my mechanic and he also confirmed that). The noise on my car was coming from the driver side front struts, I changed them and the noise is gone. My issue was that I was feeling a very minor knocking noise and feeling on the gas and brake pedal when driving even on a minor bumpy roads. I don't know the name of the part but in the suspension there is a white part some sort of hard plastic that one was broken and moving freely and that was causing the issue.
I have the same problem and my trainsmision case makes a cracking noise when I stop the car. The Axels are new, I think is the shaft inside the transmission

Believe it or not i have the same issue on my 99 Corolla 20valve and after weeks of trail and error i eventually decided to use my basic knowledge and got with my brother to remove and disassemble the gearbox and check the fault, so what i realised (long story ahead) is that the guy that did my gearbox a few months ago actually charged me for bearings and seals which he never replaced and also didnt mention that the gearbox was missing the magnet from the inside(he probably didnt reinstall it or possibly the previous people that repaired it never did either who knows) so eventually i stripped down the box and got to the differential/transaxle and noticed that the carrier bearings were in good shape(replaced it tho just for peace of mind) and i removed the spider gears and noticed that there is shims/washers/thrust washers that sit behind the spider gears and these wrre badly worn out so i began the hunt for new washers and during my travels i met a gearbox "expert" (also a salesperson so who can really say if he is an expert or just pushed a sale onto me) and this person advised that the washers are not a problem and the cause of the cv wobble is the differential/transaxle housing being worn out and i was obviously suspicious of his claim coz i dont trust salespeople so luckily i had my cv shaft with me and he showed me the difference between my wobbly diff and the 2nd hand diff which wasnt wobbly yet the spider gears were wobbly like how mine was but the cv shaft didnt wobble like how it was in my diff so after so proper inspection i realised that the diff was worn out. And the play that the new diff had was what u can comfortably call "normal" coz the wobble that we have can never ever be normal coz can you imagine driving 160kmph with a cv shaft that wobbles so excessively by hand???? I hope to god that this helps u coz i know how u feel

I would think that these Toyota diffs wear out at that point coz the CV shaft basically runs against that bushing, and if I had to guess, I would say that the gearbox probably had a leak at some point of its life and it ran dry and the metal on metal contact caused that housing to wear out, and the unit on my corrola is a complete diff housing so there's no way to replace the bushing or possibly repair it, it might be repairable to some1 who has access to some magical tools , but would probably be better to buy a 2nd hand diff. Bare in mind I'm not mechanic, just a DIYer that has been ridden good and hard by local mechanics. NB: let me save you and the world of noobs like myself a world of hassel if u ever decide to remove and teardown the c56 gearbox, please do not forget to find the 2 tiny ball bearing that sit on the selector shaft fork when u remove the main shaft and counter shaft Christmas tree 🌲,its tiny like the air rifle bearings. Loose 1 and install the gearbox without them? You will hate yourself and your life and whoever designed this gearbox. Ask how I know😖
@bruiladebeen5671 sorry u are wrong. Due to the pleay in the inner bearing cause leak. Not the seal. I replace a new seal and still leaking like mtf. Inner bearing are bad allowing to move and push the fluid out truth the cv axel

Me too on my 2006! I have replaced my axles with Napa axles once and then a used set of oem...still get shakes, vibes under loads and decel sometimes, most noticeable around 45-60mph on hills or corners

The driver sides wobbles like crazy and passenger not as much. I don’t know if that’s normal or not but planning on to replace the axle... Mines only wobbles when I’m making a sharp u-turn or left turn. It feels like I’m driving in a lower car that shakes and wobbles cause the shocks and springs are dead..

Did you solved problem...on my fiat punto i have vibrations and clunk noise when im starting from first gear or reverse...later when driving its ok...my clutch kit is new, but i noticed inner cv axle have play and clunks just like here on video...also a little bit of leaking is there...is that why my wheels vibrating due slow start without gas?

were you getting side to side vibrations in the body of the car? Looks like the boot may have been leaking the grease if you look at the oil smeared about at 0:19. Maybe that came from your hand and you introduced it to the area?

subbiesalaki The only fix is selling the car.. Its inner shaft bearings.. To fix it usually everything needs to be pulled out of transmission to get to the bearings..
@@sammq4499 I'm curious if maybe I am experiencing the same issue. My 2010 jeep compass is making a clacking noise upon acceleration and deceleration. About 1-3 clicks at a time. Sometimes it'll even make the noise when shifting from park to reverse or park to drive. It doesnt however make the noise when revved in park or nuetral.
Hi Salam I also have an 03 Accord with a similar issue Same motion as your video, no noise driving but when i press the brake real hard, like an emergency stop the cv joint bangs back and forth making a lot of noise I helped it by cutting a spacer from sheet aluminum 29mm. inside 40mm outside, essentially limiting it's motion it's a bit quieter now. I'll put another in the spring when it's warmer
@@sammq4499 Finally got to the bottom of my problem. The brake rotor although new was not perfectly true shown by a dial indicator. Then the outside brake pad was not perfectly free in the slide And the mounting bolts for the caliper were not completely free to move either. So on hard braking the rotor initiated a vibration which shook the axle causing the loose inner cv to make the noise. a minigrinder freed up the brake pad and disassembly clean and grease fixed everything else. So the oscillation and noise never gets initiated, and I don't care if the cv joint still wiggles because it no longer makes a noise.
My 2016 tacoma has the same thing . Its normal i thought it wasnt but then i compared it to others and read online its normal specialty the driver side
Check to see if anything is bent like the lower control arm or strut. Cuz I had the same kind of movement which was driving me nuts when going over bumps. Come to find out my lower control and strut was bent. Got that Replaced no more noise.

ffs.... I replaced mine recently, like last year. A few days ago have been noticing a whine. I checked the axle and there is excessive freeplay like this on the diff end. All of this seems to point to the diff bearing. Salam Hamdi You ever figure out if this much free play is an issue? Was it your diff bearing or axle?

mine was the inner Differential carrier broken, they replaced the car as it was new to me, the vibration only started above 50mph while on load

it's normal to have some moment, if it's not leaking then it's within the normal limits of moment.

Aftermarket made in China axle shafts are trash. Some platy is normal but that looks like too much at the transmission output.
