I have the 2023 7840 version too with 32GB RAM. I've been using it with both Windows and Linux and absolutely love it so far -- you're right, it's a beast in a very small package -- probably because they were creative with space usage, reducing the total footprint for all this hardware by making it a lot thicker than it would otherwise be. Which is fine by me -- I'd rather have the smaller footprint than a thinner machine. Oh, and it has (weirdly for a non-convertible) 2048-level active pen input support too.
Do the higher ram counts help because the gpu uses shared memory?
@@bizzzzzzle that's certainly part of it!
very well video start. Mine are running win11 and linux - i love it! Its just so cool and practicable.
Hi thanks for the video. I have the exact same spech as yours. I have also added an extra ssd 2230 in the slot at the back (a 2tb) and also a 1tb micro sd card. This gives me a total of 5tb. Awesome storage. I love the winmax2 and can play any game on the aaa and emulation. The perfect handheld gaming pc.
Have you try LTE function?
It is wonderful and there are no problems, but there are two types, one for Japan and the other type for international
After you buy it you need to see tutorial about to install hardware 4g lte in gpd win max 2 and You need a small screwdriver, especially for small eyeglass screws
I LOVE the GPD Win Max' copious amount of storage option/capacity. 1 x 2280 slot
1 x 2230 expansion slot
1 x SD slot
1 x MicroSD slot.
You can only use 1 SD card slot at a time though.
As far as I know, that's the only downgrade from the previous 2022 version.
For the longest time, I've been tempted to buy the GPD Win Max because of its beautiful massive 10" panel for handhelds...and because it was the only one for a long time to be a large screen handheld.
what held me back was I'm not into clamshells and I didn't like the small controller layout. IF GPD Win also made a GPD Win Max handheld (non clamshell) I would consider it....but it would have to be something because I already have 2 large screen handhelds - TJD T101 and OneXplayer X1 with....
a OneXplayer X1 AMD version on the way.
Is this suitable for ARMA?
GPD's Win Max is a very good idea for handheld gaming/laptop clam shell.
What if GPD made the keyboard a flat detachable piece? Like the foldables from Lenovo, Asus and HP?
This way there is a bigger controller setup underneath or;
the keyboard/trackpad flips down and to the back of the device?
just thinking of some ideas for future versions of the GPD Win Max series.
I'm planning to buy a second hand version of this for $700. what do you think?
I'm gonna say that's a good deal!
What is oculink port for?
Your GPU temps look REALLY low.. mine hits 80C on 24TDP with 100% fans....device getting good airflow (not sitting on table)
bro, get an Oculink cable
there is one visible in the box, but it probably bites
The main problem is the eGPU, most are still tb3, custom egpu are amazing little to no loss of performance. @buteanuioan4857
Can you review for graphic designing purpose?
How long is battery lasting?
I hope asus would come up something like this or any other popular brands. I love GPD but customer service is really the worst (they say🤣 )
Your video has a nice quality.
why not use the oculink?
Good job.
My neighbor is selling theirs for $1000. Should I get it?
Here's what it comes with:
4TB SSD
AMD Ryzen 7 7840U
32GB RAM
OneXGPU 7600M XT eGPU
I'm a game design student, so this would be extremely handy for prototyping and play testing. I also have an affinity for tiny electronics.
That being said, I'm a little "iffy" on the small screen size. I'm currently running a 17" Alienware laptop. I hate the damn thing because it's extremely heavy, but the screen size is really nice.
Well, lower spec ones (2TB version) is on sale on eBay for around $900. As long as the device is clean and working well and comes with all accessories, it could be a good deal
It comes with the onexgpu? Easy buy. That’s a great deal
