My fire basket cracked and I went to my local ACE. All I did was show them pics and they replaced it. A few years later I noticed a crack in the lower portion of the egg itself. Took some pics and two weeks later, they called to tell me they had the part for me to pick up, I used the old lower as a planter. I use my egg a lot, I have burned tons of charcoal in that thing and I can attest to the top notch customer service. Great product, great service.
Gulf Breeze Ace! Ryan is hands down one of the BEST, most sincere customer service individuals I’ve ever encountered. No hyperbole. He truly wants to help. Awesome guy.
Yak I shop there a lot and they are nice folks at that Ace store. Glad you got it resolved. Shocked you got a warranty replacement since you were not original buyer

I have 2 large BGE's and have had some of the internal ceramics crack over the years twice. Seamless replacement at Pinch A Penny each time. Glad it all got taken care of for you.
Hey Jack I’ve had one of these for 25 years. The interior pieces have been replaced about 4 times over the tears. BGE always covered under warranty but I had to pay shipping. The exterior parts like the metal rings were not covered under warranty. I’ve only had to replace once. All in all after 25 years I would say I’ve got my moneys worth. It’s still going strong and I use it all the time.
If you can wait on your parts just have BGE send them with your dealers next shipment to the store. That way you don't have to deal with any shipping fees. It's a bad look for BGE or your dealer when you have the competitor Kamado Joe who will ship warranty parts to your front door for free.
I have always used Webers and am on my fourth after fifty years of bbq’ing. Green eggs are many times more expensive by approximately thirteen times. If they will warranty for life, perhaps they are worth it.
Big Green egg stands above and beyond the warranty that they are known for. I saw one that a guy had for almost 40 years and his shell cracked from LOTS OF USE OVER 40 YEARS. THEY sent him a brand new one.
The BGE is a great cooker as you know. I’ve had to have several pieces replaced over the years and they have always been great about taking care of it under warranty. My only regret is I didn’t get the XL. Ribs are a tight fit on the large.
It's important to remember these are ceramic cookers. Kamodo cookers to be exact. My grandfather had one shipped over from Japan long before Greenegg or any of the other companies were offering them here state side. Grampa passed away several years ago now and yet we still have his Kamoda. It is very precious to our family. And it still works. So be careful with these cookers. They are VERY fragile but if treated carefully will last many years. Ours is over 50 years now. Have a great day 🌤 😀 🔥
The biggest difference between your Grandpa's and a new Kamado is the material. Those old Kamado smokers that were brought back stateside are made out clay. You need to be careful with higher temps and water with the clay. The new Kamados are made out of ceramic and glazed. Where it can handle extreme temperature swings and does much better with mother nature. Neat to see those old clay smokers still being used though.
@@conrad463 it was made of terracotta with a glaze. Terracotta is a ceramic that has a high iron content in its clay. Grandpa took good care of it and so have the family. I think if taken well care of it w8ll last another 50 years. Have a great day. 🌤 🔥🍻👍
I had my firebox break into three pieces. Took pics and filled out warranty claim and no questions asked, I got a new updated firebox with an expansion crack for the heat and cool process to keep from cracking again. I just found a hairline crack in my base, took pics, filled out warranty claim and they sent me a new base. Again, no questions asked. I have had my egg for almost 20 years now. When I asked if they needed the broken parts back as kinda proof and they said no, just throw it away. Wow. They truly stand behind their product. I can only imagine how many grills I would have bought over the past twenty years due to rusting and other issues. I am sure I would have spent close to or even more than the initial cost of my egg.
I’m glad BGE came through for you. I have a Small BGE, a Mini BGE and a Primo Round Komado. They all work well if one knows how to use, not abuse, komado-style cookers. A lot of parts are interchangeable between brands. Primo replaced the ceramic bottom half of my komado, no questions asked. Primos are made in the USA, BGE are made in Mexico.
This is awesome because companies shouldn’t get away with selling junk any longer, Jack put them on blast in the community, so somebody wanted to make things right to keep people buying green eggs. That’s how it’s done
I have a large green egg that had been on my family for about 15 years , have had fire basket and fire ring replaced twice under warranty without receipt.. Love cooking with it. Could never go back to a kettle grill after cooking on a buddies recently.
I subscribed to Navy Point Jack and binge watched the whole thing. I love watching that guy. Maybe you should show some cooking on your BGE, pizza would be nice.
Love my local Ace store. I’m on team Traeger, but that’s fantastic customer service from BGE/Ace. We also have a Weber kettle for those occasional charcoal cooks.
Hey Yak you don't need a knife to cut those black straps just flip them over at the joint or seam and you can pull on it like a zipper and most of the time they peel right open .
Just an expensive pain in the butt. Just wound up cracking my fire ring and have no clue how. Woke up, opened my Egg, and saw the crack. Trash the Egg and stick with the tried and true Weber Kettle. I’ve literally spent $200 on new bands and gaskets. Now it’s cracked. That’s another $134. Just to cook outside. No thanks.
Just noticed I have a hairline crack at the base of the xl egg. Don’t have a receipt though. So will try our local ace hardware in Arizona to see if they are as good as your local one
Jack, wouldn't it be great if every company stood behind their product as so many claim they do? People would probably start buying better quality than buying throw away products. That would help the environment out in a big way by not cluttering up unnecessarily in our landfills.
Glad it worked out. I love mine. Hey if you want great ceramic egg recipes check out Chef Eric Gephart on the Kamado Joe YT channel. They all translate. Cheers!
That broken firebox can be fixed , I have a cheaper model of Kamado grill and I received it with a broken firebox . $7.00 for some Imperial high temperature ceramic ; fixer upper and it looks like crap but works great ! Your BGE has a lifetime guarantee . I'm Grilling a whole lot cheaper . He He He !

Yea! Great guy!
Ace is the place. Friendly helpful staff. Never had a bad experience.

Glad to see a company actually standing by their product. It's rare these days. Good to know!! --Brent

That egg was ABUSED!!! 🤨
My wife gave me an XL BGE for fathers day this year.
I have cooked on it twice now and LOVE the way it cooks.
That is awesome!

Weber has a great warranty too
Weber Summit Charcoal is a great option

After 10 years we had a crack and they replaced the ring! Great company 100% we did have the receipt.

You are right about the size! It just would take so much charcoal to get it going though.
Green eggs are good cookers, but Weber kettles are the bomb. Still cooking on one I bought 27 years ago and still looks new.

Amazed to see they took care of it. They could have just as easily said you over heated it. I might have to give them a second look at my local Ace.

Hey Jack. I'm glad they made good on your big green egg. Now you can get to cookin on it again.
Thanks for sharing your adventures with us!
Thanks for watching!

My internals also cracked apart. Mine also was a gift.
I have a Komoto, like the Egg without the big price tag. 8 years now nothing broken, I have had to replace the felt ring. Ceramic cookers are awesome.
I have a large green egg that had been on my family for about 15 years , have had fire basket and fire ring replaced twice under warranty without receipt.. Love cooking with it. Could never go back to a kettle grill after cooking on a buddies recently.
Took me a few months but BGE gave me a replacement for my outside bottom after it cracked making pizza. Now I just smoke on it.
Ace Hardware came up big. Good business!
I subscribed to Navy Point Jack and binge watched the whole thing. I love watching that guy. Maybe you should show some cooking on your BGE, pizza would be nice.
Awesome! Thank you!
That is the most beat up eggs I have ever seen
Another great video!!! The 3 mile bridge looks great!!! Ace Hardware is really cool!!!
Ace Hardware is such a great company.
Mine is on the way. To near 30a. Got a large from the ace in pcb ! 🐮🔥
Thank you Yak for the information and I Was Looking AtThem At Ace Hardware yesterday 😎
The dealer I got mine from wouldn’t warranty the ring or plate setter🤬
Email Bruce at the headquarters and explain your situation. (I imagine you have proof of your purchase for warranty work?)
Love my local Ace store. I’m on team Traeger, but that’s fantastic customer service from BGE/Ace. We also have a Weber kettle for those occasional charcoal cooks.
YEA THEY WOULDNT DO THAT FOR THE AVERAGE PERSON!!😢
Awesome

Was looking at buying a bge today, never asked about the warranty this pushed me over the top to buy.
Dude....I was hoping to see some steaks cookin......do a part 2 of "My Green Egg Problems!"
Eugene approves of Green Eggs
If it was a gift as in new, you should have been able to register
So you were able to get your broken item replaced without a receipt?
Just noticed I have a hairline crack at the base of the xl egg. Don’t have a receipt though. So will try our local ace hardware in Arizona to see if they are as good as your local one
I’m confused didn’t your parents buy it used and then gave it to you as a Christmas gift?
Got to love Ace Hardware!

It's hard to beat a product that has a lifetime warranty. My Ace hardware store is the best when it come to customer service on this product.
Ace is the place! By far the best hardware store.
Why do these components break easy ? I have a Kamado Joe never broke anything, know on wood
Smoke a brisket and invite your RUclips posters to your upcoming 250K subs!
Glad it worked out. I love mine. Hey if you want great ceramic egg recipes check out Chef Eric Gephart on the Kamado Joe YT channel. They all translate. Cheers!
Same thing happen to me or my Green Egg! Ace did replace mine also.
Thanks ace!!! 🤙
You should buy a kick ash basket, makes cleaning easy and some FOGO lump charcoal. Love the channel.
Thank you!
Nice folks at ACE
What a joke
Love your videos
Thank you!
Damn, that was $100 in gas after two trips. 😂
Lol yea
Just an FYI, the straw hat does not instill confidence.
Ouch.
Love ace. But… what about the gasket and the handle? $1600 thing should be perfect
I bought a new gasket. Handle is on back order.
Want to see you fix the handle!
Ace rocks
Ace hardware is the best!
Not good, ouch
Hi Jack. I have had mine for 40 years and I find they crack when you get them to hot 🥵
lol, cooked one too many pizzas lol
Should have done a "warranty & cook" so we could have seen how it worked. Much like the catch & cook!!!!!
😎🖖👌✌👍😁
