Nice one Vin! Last week we did a Tomintoul tasting with our club and the line up was 12 Oloroso 40%, 12 Portwood Finish 46%, 15 Portwood Finish, Tomintoul Peaty Tang 40%, Old Ballantruan 50% and Old Ballantruan 50%. Out of 25 people, interestingly the winners were 40%abv ones both in peated and unpeated trio. It was a good introduction to the brand for me and like you said they must use some good cask. They actually sit on over 100,000 casks in their warehouses so we'll get to see many more expressions from them in the future hopefully. Cheers!

Sounds delicious! It's terrific that you pulled out such similar tastings notes as what are on the container! I hope I can track down this Tomintoul 15 2008 Madeira Cask Finish! The cask finish does elevate the price a bit. Fair game. Yumm!! :-)

Nice breakdown, Vin. This isn't one that's really in circulation over here, so glad to hear about it.

That's interesting! Do you have any tomintouls at all?

@@NoNonsenseWhisky Oh, sure. We have the whole core range up to the 25 Year. I just don't see these limited releases like this one. Cheers!

Definitely have a look at the NAS cask finishes. 40% sure but loads of flavour. The 46% range is obviously better but you pay for that

Hi Vin, a little too pricey for me , around €118 where I am. Talking about packaging , when I buy a bottle I either leave it in shop or throw it away when I get home, don’t need them. Whats written on them is mainly nonsense anyway. Enjoyed the video, Slàinte Vin.

Glad to see someone else has the same view on packaging. I'd sooner not have it at all. But some folk get so attached to their fancy bits of cardboard
