Cait, your dress turned out fabulous & I love the color on you! The curved hem and ruffle and balloon sleeves are so flirty and fun, the color make it so versatile as well, turned out great!

I’m half way through and I’m so inspired! Also love SJM books! Just finished ToG and it was 👌🏻

Aw thanks! Oo yay another SJM reader! Did you just finish the book ToG or the whole series? If it’s the whole series I’m curious which book is your favorite? 😊

In my sewing journey I am trying to learn that each project has it's own timeline. Our job isn't to hurry, or change it, but to find our flow within it. This is more difficult when you have a deadline for a youtube video (understandably), but I hope when you sew sometimes, you can find peace in practicing this too :)

You are absolutely right, each project has its own timeline and it’s best to just go with the flow of the project. I was trying to force this longer project into a short timeline for sure haha I’m hoping to be able to take my time more on the next one. 😊❤️

The finished product is cute! I love the look of French seams; I know they take extra steps and can make calculating the seam allowance a tiny bit confusing which is why lots of folks prefer other methods, but I'm tickled that you opted for them in this make. Too bad about the elastic not looking quite how you wanted, but no one seeing the dress from the outside will know. You should be proud of yourself for pushing through the frustration and completing a big project.
And, hoping your little gal has thoroughly recovered from that trip to the doggy dentist :)

Thank you so much! Yes my love for French seams will never die, I'm a garment with pretty insides. :) Thank you, you're so sweet! My little gal (Chloe) healed up quickly and is doing wonderfully, thank you! I so appreciate you watching and commenting so thoughtfully! I hope you're having a wonderful week!

Hey, don't worry about being slow. Making a full dress, with french seams even, in 2 days is pretty fast if you ask me!
    And, of course, beautiful dress

Such a beautiful dress 🤎🤎🤎 Well worth the time spent (which I don't think was long considering all the details and finishing techniques you used). Thank you for sharing the ups and downs of your process. You're definitely not alone in thinking that some projects, for unexplained reasons, are more of a challenge than others - I have that experience very regularly 😂

This looks amazing! For the elastic you can create a channel with another strip of fabric then insert the elastic. It can be difficult to find the perfect matching color. You can't really notice the white though.

Thank you! Yes, after seeing the footage it bugs me even more haha so definitely going to be putting in a channel after the fact to hide it. My perfectionism cannot take the sneak peaks of white 😆 Thanks so much for watching! 😊❤️

I'm watching you craft while I crochet/knit. I really like your videos and what you create, although for me the spring colours cannot come fast enough!
Oh and get well soon to your pup!

Oh yay! Yes, I don’t even know the full count anymore - but I’ve read them all haha. Once you start you just can’t stop in my experience 😆. Definitely don’t miss out on the Throne of Glass series though, it’s my all time favorite. 😊 Thanks for watching!
