To turn something as fearsome as the Frankenstein Monster into a character as lovable as Herman Munster, was one of the many magical talents of Mr. Fred Gwynne. RIP big guy.🖤🖤🖤
I’m so jealous ❤️ I watched reruns all the time when I was growing up but they stopped playing them before I even got to middle school. This was one of my favorite shows to watch.
😅😅😅😅😅😅🤓😆I can't stop laughing to this day when this is shown, Fred Gwynne was very talented. The guitar he was really playing it! All of that is still funny Spot the pet Dragon, The Black Crow in the clock, and the roaring domestic 🐈 cat! Herman is so hilarious! 🤓😆😅😂
I agree that cat was fabulous Miss Kitty one episode Herman lay down on the couch and Miss Kitty jumped on top of him looking for an ear scratching it was so good they kept it in
What a voice this man had! Instantly recognizable! I have listened to episodes of CBS Radio Mystery Theater with Fred Gwynne. Very talented voice actor/actor/artist/musician/singer/painter/sculptor/writer/illustrator!! Fred Gwynne was a man of many talents. Wish he could/would have made more movies. I always wanted to see him in a romantic comedy playing the lead male role. I mean yes he was good playing a supporting actor, but I would have liked it if he played the lead role. Even playing a lead male role in a suspense/thriller would have been nice! But it is what it is. We all have the shows/movies that he did make for us to enjoy and watch. I will say that his performance in the movie "Disorganized Crime" was really good. He had quite alot of scenes in that movie. Another movie he was good in, which had a twist ending that I didn't expect, was the movie "The Vanishing Act". He was such a joy to watch in anything he did. He is such a handsome man with beautiful features and a VERY unique voice. He was such an imposing, towering figure of a man standing 6'5" (and according to other reports, 6'6"). I think 6'6" sounds more accurate. I wish I could see his performances when he was on Broadway in the "many" musical productions he did, but I guess there is no video of any of those anywhere. And to think, that people told Fred Gwynne to not get into acting because he didn't have the look (he was very tall, had a long face with a lantern jaw). I mean not your typical look for a handsome man (but I am attracted to men like Fred Gwynne who are different looking and "unique"). So, I am glad that Fred Gwynne didn't listen to those naysayers. If he did, we wouldn't have all the wonderful movies and TV Shows that he did. Thank you Fred Gwynne, for all that you have done/accomplished in your lifetime! You have left behind a wonderful legacy for your family, your friends, and most importantly, your fans!! We love you, Frederick Hubbard Gwynne!! 🥰❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🥰
Sing-a-long-a-Herman!😁 Actually, it just occurred to me he sounds like Phil Harris when he sings! Phil Harris, for those who aren’t sure, voiced Baloo the Bear in Disney’s The Jungle Book amongst others.
Yvonne De Carlo was beautiful, even as Lily, I have a beautiful Model of The Munsters Koach and a book about The Munsters , That Yvonne De Carlo and Butch Patrick did
This is EASILY one of my favorite clips from The Munsters!!! Watching that crazy Blackbird, and hearing him say that, plus having Spot roar his approval-TWICE!!!-and then catchin' that Black Cat roaring that loud growl of approval..... Yep! It's a hit!!!!!
There's a local music store nearby that has some specialty guitars, one of which is a Fender Telecaster with an image of The Munsters. It made me think of this scene.
@@briandavis3832 Fred Gwynn was quite talented as an actor performing on live stage as well as being a gifted artist. He wrote and illustrated several children's books.

It's not a coinsidence they look alike. Since The Munsters was produced by Universal Studios they had the rights to Boris Karloff's old costume.
Fred Gwynn’s career since then has shown some of his great talent!
Watch themall
I was 11 years old when the Munsters came out. I was one of the kids that would excitedly wait for "my show" on Thursday nights
I’m so jealous ❤️ I watched reruns all the time when I was growing up but they stopped playing them before I even got to middle school. This was one of my favorite shows to watch.
Alonso ASenJo Same here. I had a Munsters lunch box also. I alternated between my Beatles lunch box and Munsters lunch box.
Herman had a good voice. That deep baritone.
Yes I agree Herman Munster 😂 great singer
That cracks me up. And I really loved when Herman(or Fred)laughs like that. It was funny and hilarious.

Fun fact: The Raven in the clock is voiced by Mel Blanc.
Every TV family needs “Spot”.

Born can mean "come to life" or "come to be" i.e. "That's how the idea was born" Words can have multiple usages
@@jonnaking3054 your so right
I remember that particular episode. Herman made that song sound so hip and funny, 60s rock n roll kind of feel.

I remember watching this as a kid growing up.
Yes I agree I remember it in the 70s, when I was a kid 😂
Sing-a-long-a-Herman!😁

There's a local music store nearby that has some specialty guitars, one of which is a Fender Telecaster with an image of The Munsters. It made me think of this scene.
What a great show! I was a baby when this came out but I still love it!
Loved this show ❤

Follow the bouncing skull.......priceless.
The doo doo doo doo, is the best part!
Great positioning of the fingers to make some great bar chords.

Herman's top 40.
Fred Gwynne was a fantastic entertainer and a hell of a nice guy as well!!!!!
Just saw the 1989 version of "Pet Sematery" today... hard-to-belive this is the SAME ACTOR!!
He can sing !
I remember when he was the judge in my Cousin vinny.
He’s cute 😍😗😍😍👍🏽😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I love this! Lol
Fred rocked it.
That sounded real good, actually! Much gooder than it had to be. 😂😂
Most people don't even know that "Dem Bones" was inspired by Ezekiel in the Bible. Original lyrics started with "Ezekiel connected dem dry bones..."
Herman is a good guitarist :)
Gotta love Spot!
That's our Herman! Singing or being threatened by the martians who will blow up the earth because of him, we still love him!
Fred Gwynne looked like he was really playing that 🎸. Wonder if he had lessons or played IRL.
I play guitar, he s playing the correct chords.
Yes he's playing he was a man of many talents.

I like the funny song😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The guitar sound is dubbed but honestly his chord progression hand movement looked great
I think he could actually play based on his fingerings.
I didn't realize Fred could sing!
I like when they played the song an the radio and grandpa said it sounded like a werewolf with linguistic.
Classic! FG had a really good voice.
Fred had a great voice
brillent
made me laugh! x

Hahaha!
Funny Herman corn
They didn't recognize Herman's voice when they heard it on the radio.
He’s really playing, too! He is lifting his fingers to mute the chords and they are the actual chords.
Let I'm have it Hermie baby
Just for curiosity. Somebody know the accords played on the guitar?
Haha!🤣🤣🤣🤣
Nice old Martin guitar.
I was 3. When the Munsters came out? 😁 1964.
Looks like he was really playing guitar!
He was an accomplished folk guitarist before he was an actor
He’s got a great voice too!
Does anyone know what season or episode this was on ? thanks
Season2 episode 12
Herman stomps his foot 1:10 and no usual earthquake-like effect? 🤔
Shoulda used the version after he ate the Nothin' Muffin. ;)
What am I watching?!!!!
Man. Ron Perlman would make an awesome Herman
He would be amazing…but no one will ever be better than Fred Gwynne
typo. Leg bone to knee bone....
His voice isn't bad.
Lmao
Expected Alice in Chains AHHHHHHHHHHH!!
