I saw your previous comment to Jay that you didn't like the Mission Gold. Although I have both the old and the newer pure pigment sets and they do behave differently and I love them. I also have Daniel Smith, Qor, Sennelier and Holbein ( got the Holbein accidentally, they sent watercolor instead of gouache). I have the brands that I have specifically because they all behave differently from each other. It depends on what I am painting and what I want from the finished product that determines which brand I use. However, my DS and Qor I often use together. Anyway back to my point of commenting, lol, I got the pure pigment set for mixing specifically as I just love mixing but also because the other paints they sell do indeed have a lot of multiple pigments in one paint color. I just knew that would lead to some issues mixing. Maybe you should try replacing a few of those most disliked multiple pigment tubes with some single pigment colors and then try planning a few paintings specifically around the brands specific characteristics and you might like them more.
Sorry, I didn't finish the video. Nothing wrong with it but I tend to get very sleepy when listening to videos with music on RUclips. Not sure why but I do. I know, I'm weird, lol.

Aww thank you for watching the video and I’m sorry if the music bothered you. It’s hard to find the right balance at times 😊.
I think my issue with MG is that they’re very expensive for me in the uk, more than Daniel Smith and QoR. The money I paid for the set I got, I would expect (at least the standard paints you get in all the professional grade watercolours) to be single pigments. I just felt a bit cheated and because they are so expensive, I don’t want to replace them with the pure pigment set. I do however think they’re lovely to paint with and I like the fact that they are slow moving as it gives me more control. It’s a shame that my view on them has been tarnished

I find these re wet so easily and are so easy to get big blobs of intense pigment. Even more so than my DS.

Awww thank you for watching the video! They do re wet easily, I’m just not fussed on the set I have - they make muddy mixes.

Great video :) I only have one Mission Gold paint that I found in the bargain section of my local store - Permanent Magenta, I think, PR122. It's a beautiful colour, but every time I use it, I forget that the brand lifts so easily, even after it's thoroughly dry, and even with colours that normally don't lift easily, and I end up with it smearing when I go to layer over it :P I'm sure for some peoples' styles that would be a feature, not a bug, but I do a lot of layering, so I find it infuriating.

Awww thank you for watching the video. They do lift easily but as you said, no good for layering. The set I bought was their normal set and they have lots of weird pigment mixes that I would expect for a professional range.

@@TammyNewmanArt I definitely agree there too; colours that in any other brand are single pigment, but in MG, they inexplicably have something added.

Thanks for this wonderful review very happy after muting it lol One question Tammy Here in the USA I bought the sigle pigment set of 24, 15 ml for 61.00 I would have spent 3x that price for Daniel Smith and any of the professional grade watercolors mentioned on the video , Im a beginner at this medium so Im hoping I can make it work, Do you think that adding a flow medium or ox gall will help with the flow?

Nice selection. Even though I own that Bright Opera I'm still always amazed at how bright it is.
Are you a fan of your Mijello Mission Gold Watercolors?

Aww thank you, honestly no I’m not 😢. Mainly because they are very expensive and the set I brought wasn’t the pure pigment set (I didn’t know it existed lol) so there are some random pigment mixes that I’m just not a fan of. Honestly I prefer QoR to them

@@TammyNewmanArt Aww shame you're not happy with it. I'm sure the pure pigment set is much better. Some of the color mixes Mijello have in this set are a bit odd.
I've still never tried QOR but definitely plan to some time soon. QOR, Roman Szmal, M.Graham and Turner are all on my to try next list.

Yes I’ve heard the pure pigment set is fantastic, unfortunately I won’t be purchasing it any time soon! QoR are fantastic, I love them! I’m really happy with Holbein as well
