Hi Jimmy, I tried all the tips from your video but it didnt help stop the standby drain. Finally i figured out something which can be additional tip which you can add to your video. I found that samsung's "find my mobile" was draining battery in the background. i disabled Samsung's "find my mobile" option in both foreground and background. In developer options under "background processes" i disabled "find my mobile". Now things seem to improve a bit in terms of standby. Will have to monitor for few days but its something which also affects battery drain which you can add to your tips

Thanks, this video has saved me a couple of times now with Play services on both occasions spiking to something like 20-30 per cent battery useage, and a normally 2 day battery almost dead inside 12 hours. Suspect the issue was another app which was also drawing a lot of power and triggering Play services in some way. Anyway, followed your advice steps and sanity was restored- both the phone and mine !
@@ApArsenalSorry, I'm afraid it's that long ago that I can't remember the details now. Looking back at my comment I don't know that I pinned down an exact app but applying the Play services steps from the video must have fixed the issue long term.
FYI BOOTING TO CLEAR CACHE PARTITION, if you have a Galaxy s8 or similar you have to use the power button, the volume up button and the bixby button. Once you see the Samsung logo appear let go of the power button and the bixby button but continue to hold the volume up button until and again until you see the boot options. Great video BTW.
One comment on entering recovery mode though. It is true as shown on S20. On S8 and S10 (both of which I have) you use Bixby button to. Once the device is off, press and hold the Bixby and volume up buttons, then press the power button. Let go of the power once the phone turns on, while still keeping the Bixby and volume up buttons pressed.
I use a bixby routine that disables sync entirely unless I am charging and that makes absolutely zero apps in my battery usage show up as "background usage" I don't even see google play services in that battery usage screen. ever since I made that routine not only do I save a lot of battery but I still have important stuff synced when it is charging. I STRONGLY recommend setting a bixby routine to disable sync when you are not charging unless you have some reason you must have it on even off the charger. but for me it works amazing and I don't have to think about syncing because it does it when I put it on the charger.
But wouldn't disabling sync also disable looking for emails in Gmail? Like you want to sync your emails right,? Not only when you are home charging, but you need to look emails on the go?
Great video. Much appreciated! You've saved me having to wipe my note10 and start from scratch - something very time consuming and annoying. My battery life is now what it use too be when I first purchased it. Love your work
This is the best solution for my samsung device i ever seen on youtube Others youtubers just give solution to put down all the features, meanwhile the main problem is some app keep refreshing location and some account always trying to syncing item every second on the background, so the battery drain like crazy Edit: after doing this, my s21 going from 4,5h to 6,5h SoT
Ok. Going to help everyone out here quickly. I've been monitoring this for some time. First, no need to clear cache...🙄 second..go to your accounts, put everything that's not a priority off to not auto sync. Third and most important, turn OFF automatic updates for Google play store. You can always manually check when you need or want to. Automatic updates DO drain battery. With these adjustments I have monitored for a while. If it's even google play store or google services, I show either one ranginging from 0.5 to 1.6...sometimes in the 2 range. It's been a LONG time that I can even find a time that reached even 3. Before I could CONSISTANTLY see through the history many times hitting from 4 to 7. I hope this helps everyone😉
To better save battery, you can click the "sync" button on your drop down buttons. You will save a ton of battery and please make sure to turn of nearby scanning by going to connections>more connections>nearby scanning (turn off)
google play services is always running in the background although the % is very low, but i notice some battery drain when the phone is in idle, thanks to this video i went to check the google account and there is something keep syncing and i fix it~ good job keep it going
You may also want to give the app called Bouncer a try - all it does is automatically revoke the permissions you give your apps whenever you are not using them - so they are not gonna do funky things while running in the background, basically unused. May save you quite some battery juice.
I have watched a lot of videos on RUclips, and I created many do-it-yourself video myself. Your videos are well organized and well written. Most of the RUclips videos are not well organized and not well written.

First of all, the battery usage is displayed in percentage. If your Google Play Service has high battery usage percent, it can be an indication that you barely used your phone and your other apps did not used much battery which is good. Lets say if I leave my game on for a few days straight, the game is going to use so much power that it makes the google play service battery usage insignificant. My Google Play Service battery usage is only 0.36%.
