Jimmy MacCarthy lived in North Kilkenny for a spell, drawing inspiration from his beautiful surroundings in Jenkinstown . I knew a few Cork men who settled in Kilkenny and felt at home, the shared passion for music and hurling and the ability to not take life too seriously. I likewise a Kilkenny man was made welcome in Cork by the Spillanes of Carraig na Bhfear, and sessions in the Teach Bheag in Oliver Plunket Street.
