Beautiful im from Poland and i live in Eire for the last 17 years and these songs are truly universal, you always have to rebel oppression and now is the time to rebel...
This song relays our feelings the hundred years of occupation by the British and still a small part of our country. From the river to the sea. When your freedom and also us. Will be free. Ireland and Palestine un free will never be at peace.❤
Put beautifully . A land full of people who can't be themselves or speak our language is a crime the Brits will regret . To our lost son's and daughter's.
Couldn't agree more. I play this song on guitar myself and think those very same thoughts whenever I sing it. All those dead and not one thing has changed.
When apples still grow in November When blossoms still bloom from each tree When leaves are still green in December It's then that our land will be free I wander her hills and her valleys And still through my sorrows I see A land that has never known freedom And only her rivers run free I drink to the death of her manhood Those men who'd rather have died Than to live in the cold chains of bondage To bring back their rights where denied Oh, where are you now when we need you? What burns where the flame used to be? Are you gone like the snows of last winter? And will only our rivers run free How sweet is the life but we're crying How mellow the wine but it's dry How fragrant the rose but it's dying How gentle the breeze but it sighs What good is in youth when it's aging? What joy is in eyes that can't see? When there's sorrow in sunshine and flowers And still only our rivers run free
I drink to the death of her manhood... I understand where our country music here in America comes from. It was born from the same melodies and harmonies brought here from our Scots/Irish ancestors who continue to fight for the same freedoms here. Drink on brothers...drink on!

Patrick Mullan you want to be free but seem more than happy to be swallowed into an undemocratic European superstate - and rest assured it is a tyranny
Nothing will ever be free we have tried to change the past but it is has changed us we live for our children, and hope they never have to endure the past, if we were any sort of people we would want what was best for them now not for us, alot of people need to educate themselves with the colours of the flag of Ireland green white and orange green for the nationalists orange for the unionists and the white for peace in between, but can anyone tell me or themselves will there ever be peace on the island of Ireland, I get on with both unionists and nationalists grew up on a loyalist estate although tried to be brought up bitter not by family but by others, alot have died on both sides trying to achieve and accomplish, and still today the violence and the drugs the wars continue, when does it stop no need for tit for tat, we have bitter on both sides of the community but that is drilled into their heads if we want what's best for our kids and everyone else we need to get on
sorry to be offtopic but does anyone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I would love any tricks you can offer me
@Baylor Zander i really appreciate your reply. I found the site on google and Im trying it out atm. Takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
@Baylor Zander DAMN IT ACTUALLY WORKED! I literally got access to my instagram login after roughly 45 mins of using the site. Just had to pay 15 $ but for sure worth the price =) Thanks so much, you saved my ass :D
Peace at what price. For 800 years good Irishmen died to be free and now the brave IRA and the bodies on the streets of Derry are relegated to history. The soul and the pride of the Irish are found only in songs no one wants to hear. There is peace in Northern Ireland but the British still rule. Many good men died to free you but once again you have failed them.
@@jlawlor7560 yes, I am afraid it seems so. According Bernadette McAlliskey, the agreed and subsequently broken Sunningdale Ageement signed into law on December 1972, was the same as the agreed Good Friday Agreement signed into law on April 1998. Yet still the union with Britain still remains in the North part of my island of Ireland 🇮🇪.
One of the most beautiful songs of all time, and very much relevant today, let's hope that a 32 county Ireland is very close 💚🍀🇮🇪✊
We're are u now when we need u ireland stand up and be proud

All for that United within UK
Ireland will be free within the next 10 years, the British oppressors will be shown the door ✊🍀🇮🇪
The most purist of patriotic songs.
Beautiful im from Poland and i live in Eire for the last 17 years and these songs are truly universal, you always have to rebel oppression and now is the time to rebel...
Would they accept me in Poland? I don't know a word of Polish, but I am very Catholic....
The soul of Eire still yearns for freedom
Mickey McConnell. The fan that also gave us the very funny Aldi Song. A very much under appreciated writer and performer.
The Barrow lands always seem to produce a special audience.
The Glasgow Irish never let you down for atmosphere 💚🇮🇪🍀
God bless the 32 county Ireland 🇮🇪✊
Spent many a night in the Barrowland in my youth , but I missed a great night here . Great stuff from Christy !!

We as a Celtic people will never give up. Our wee special isle of truth and suffering will be free soon.
Without the suffering there is no real music, we Scots feel the exact same.

Free, no ye won’t!

Hearing the audience singing , it runs down my back….😢

I'm English but whoever believes in 2 Irelands is a maniac ❤
It's a sad state of fear that we are still living in, here in Ireland. For the mothers and our children. When will it all end?
