I was born loving elvis. He was more than a man. He was desperately trying to save his family against an unjust system. God bless elvis and all his family.❤
When the crowd really kicks in, I get covered in goosebumps every single time. Christy's timing of each word and syllable is just extraordinary. The real tragedy is that I didn't discover him until I was 50.
''When the crowd really kicks in, I get covered in goosebumps every single time.'' I think Christy Moore mention that in an interview. When the crowd join him in that way, there's nothing better.
Likewise but 45 years old! Buut I am so glad that I did!! I've always believed that there hasn't yet been released a musical production that didn't have at least one redeeming feature or indeed great song! It's a shame though as you tend to end up with "secret weapon" artists or genres; but also why I try an entire album before dismissing the musicians! Chrisy is for sure, one of these - and I feel like it's almost a point of pride that so few know about him, so they can feel better than the normals, or something!
yesterday while sitting by our lake here in Hanover I was listening to some guys playing it on an Irish beer fest… This moment when you cannon believe that you have never heard one of your favourite songs ever before in your life…
Moore's talent is unquestionable. I love his style. But he has made it his life-quest to be a professional whinger. Constantly denying that the Catholic Faith is intrinsic to the Ireland he loves; the Church did this, the Church did that, blah blah blah, all because he doesn't want to get off his arse and change his own personal life ...And also, why doesn't he go and live in one of the many Marxist utopias that he celebrates?
✨ Beautiful song and while I've been to many gigs, iv never heard a crowd sing like that - absolutely perfect, in tune & tempo - *fair play to ye Scots, yous all nailed it* ! ☘️
An expat here in Cork, five years, a band covered this song at a local pub. I'm quite stoic but this made me shed a tear. I love you Ireland and her people. This Island is truly touched by the Almighty, praise be only to him. Appreciate the true experience of Love, for the Lord of the world's has blessed us with its sweetness and bitterness.
I heard this song for the first time few days ago here in Dublin in the International Pub by some musicians there. I did instantly deeply fell in love. Totally. In the middle of a pub I did stand still and I could feel tears coming. It was moving, deep, like a music I heard before long time ago somewhere. Oh the power of music. It did move a whole universe inside me in 2 minutes.
😅es ist fast 40 Jahre her, dass ich Christie live in Galway in einen Pub gehört habe. Bevor das Konzert begann, gab es einen ziemlich betrunkenen Mann, der leider anfing zu stören, sodass er den Pub verlassen musste. Christie sagte: Give him his money back....Das habe ich nie vergessen. Großartiger Mensch und Künstler 👏👍👍

I was in tears, still cry when I hear you sing this or 'Ride on '.. #specialmemories You are an amazing artist & ambassador for Ireland Christy, thank you for sharing your special gift with the world #andireviews
I remember the Fairways in Dundalk for another reason , it was there my late wife Rosie an I were interviewed to start our journey to Australia 53 years Rosie has passed away but I am still here . Listening to Christy .
the closest I got to experiencing this song and Christy Moore was in an Irish pub where people started singing and we all joined in and ended up sobbing, cus it was such an emotional coming together of all of us, strangers in effect. Art unites, I think.
@@gerrymcardle9319I’m a bit late , am Irish and live in Boston USA. God continue to bless yourself and Rosie. She’s just above the sky and looking forward to seeing you again. I’m not clairvoyant I just know it.👍

Music is a wonderful vehicle for growth, life is pretty damned complicated. Be well little sister. I’m sixty, ok daughter or niece or whatever, I’m old and you are not. Just be well.
The problem for me was that my true love didn’t have black hair, she gave me three children and I worship the ground where on she goes, she has the sweetest smile and the gentlest hands, she is everything good that I could never be.
Fantastic Christy!. I came over to Dublin last month to see you in the NCH, and what a fantastic night that was. You were on fire. Hope to see you back in Wales soon, but if not, I don't mind travellin 😊 God bless you Christy.
This gentleman has provoked a hunger in my soul for Irish history! I am a first generation American my parents are both Irish immigrants who spoke little of the oppression and racism they experienced growing up in the 40's and fifties i have been down a rabbit hole for a while exploring the the meanings behind the names and locations mentioned in Christy songs and the wolfe Tones theres some serious BUll*h*T that the Irish have endured historically Keep on Keepin on Christy The Wolfe Tones don't let us forget about Bob Sands or the Quitana Brigada your work is working! Im here and i hear !! Ourselves Alone!!!!

what a tremendously knowledgeable Glasgow audience, very moving
When others sing they sing from the heart, Christy sings from the soul
He sings from his mouth 😅

Declan Sinnott - such an incredibly subtle touch.
Back in the myst of time I spent 2 years with a black haired Irish gypsy beauty. This song makes me think of her. Golden memories.
