My mum passed away 5yrs ago through Motor Neuron Disease, today is her birthday, this song was sung at her funeral, I'm having a few beers in her memory, Cheers Christy Moore
" Forget-me-nots among the snow. " How I would love to see that! On this continent, way down here, I guess if I traveled, and watched and waited, I could see a wombat in the snow, or a wallaby! 🌏
He has tuned his guitar down a half step and then used a capo on the first fret. The song is in the key of D. Just in case if that's of interest to anyone. I presume he had this tuning for other songs and this one instead of retuning he just puts capo on.
Thanks for that info! As a beginner, could you please explain the advantage of the different tuning and the capo. Can't all the notes/chords be found on the standard tuning? Thanks! ( A half step? )
@@Lee-nh5bb half step means one fret. People step down to maintain the chord shapes for a picking pattern in a different key suiting their voice. This song can be transposed easily into any key so he probably just put the capo on to get back to standard tuning and transposed it.

Declan must have performed this hundreds of times with Mary Black.
