that does look great shortened, i'm thinking now its shorten and closer to the tyre rubber, is it possible to spray tyre with exhaust smoke at traffic lights etc
I'll like how you went about it more than the rest of the videos I saw on RUclips, but I'm still scared to hell to touch my Arrow exhaust on my 2015 R1 lol
just chop it. it's just an exhaust pipe. If you want the look and sound...I mean it is virtually a free mod that will set your bike apart from most everybody else out there. Take time your time and do it right and people are going to come up to you and ask you where you bought it LOL.
Looks incredible! I would love to do this to my Akrapovic carbon fiber exhaust on my zx10r but I don’t think I have the balls to cut it up.. plus I don’t have a robot gun or a grinder
crazyskullcrusha thanks! Yeah I’m coming from Kawi’s and this f4i has been more mechanics than riding but I still love it! 🍻Cheers to past and future bikes 🤙🏻
Awesome video. Well done....I will be doing this exact same trick to my 2017 gsxr 1000 can. It's freaking huge. This will get me by till I can do a full exhaust.
I just thought of doing this to my bike look it up on RUclips and find your vid I have the same exhaust with same exact pipe I can't stand how long it is
I bought them off a friend years ago in 2005. I doubt they are still made these days. I just cap mirror mounts off now days. That's what I suggest you do but give me a few days to look around and see if I still have those. I'll ship them to you if I still have them.
Well, if you have a CBR900 with an aftermarket race exhaust with HIGH dB ratings already, I probably wouldn't shorten the exhaust LOL (very loud bikes usually)! I'm assuming you have a 600 now days? Yeah, it sounds bad ass. Years ago, I was practicing day and night to be a stunt rider and I would go out and watch other stunt riders and always loved the sound of a stunt bike. A lot of stunt riders chopped their pipe when bought brand new...simply to keep it from getting damaged when they lay the bike down....well last time I laid my GSXR down, the pipe got scratched up...so I did the stunt rider trick! It looks cool...it is a bit louder but still not like running open headers...you maintain some back pressure which keeps the engine happy on a stock tune. Best of all worlds! Funny story, I'm from Akron Ohio so I've been fortunate enough to ride with Keven Marino who is one of the three founders of the "Starboyz". We were at Barberton Speedway where Kevin and Scott were scheduled to do a stunt show. They had both just received brand new 2005 GSXR600's from Suzuki, their sponsor at the time. We went over to talk to them and noticed that Kevin's exhaust pipe was mangled to all hell. We asked, "what happened to the pipe?" He replied, "Ahh, bike wasn't loud enough with that stock pipe...so I took a hacksaw and cut it in half"! So, then we go look at Scott's bike. It was bone stock, even had the stupid as rear fender/blinker/license plate thing, stock pipe, and then we saw the rear sprocket! "Hey Scott, that is a hell of a rear sprocket. It looks like a 20" pizza pan LOL!". So, moral of the story, do what makes you happy! Kevin wanted a loud ass bike and didn't give a shit about gearing. And Scott, he didn't care about noise, he wanted gearing!
crazyskullcrusha No I have a beautiful cbr 900 rr from 1997. Big ass carbon exhaust who is empty but for me it's never loud enough. Thanks for the response dude. Ride safe bro. Greetings from Belgium
Oh yeah! CBR900's are the OG "Original Gangsta" of stunt bikes! Honda made a beast out of the 900 platform. You have a good bike bro'. Cut the pipe in half, rivet it back together and call it a day. That thing will roar!
i have 06 zx14 with vance and hines cs1 dual exhaust with no cats but the mufflers are to quiet for me the body of muffler is 14" would it be much louder if i cut down 2" ? id like to have it loud as brocks exhaust
I doubt 2" shorter will make a HUGE difference however it will be louder. The shorter you go the louder it gets. Considering you have duel exhausts, it probably will make a bigger difference.
You should cut the pipe and make it short. So that your exhaust is right under your foot and close to the bottom fairing. That would look more sick. Nice bike though👍 may god bless you and keep you safe 🤲
Right on... I have an 03 GSXR 600 and 750... Both have power commanders... One thing that may have been helpful to others wouls be that the innards have to be taken out and cut to fit as the bolt on insert is about 5 inches inside connecting to the perforated pipe inside... Mine I cut down was an RS3 Yoshi can... I plan on chopping the Yoshi can I replaced the RS3 with... Should look pretty badass and does sound alot better shortened!!! Anyway... I watched another video before this one figuring it was pretty damn easy and it was!!! Key would be buying a good rivet gun... 1st 1 was a piece of shit... Hahaaaa... Good vid man... Have fun and ride safe!!!
Not a lot. Just a little bit louder. Just noticeable is all. Stunt riders do this trick because when they are practicing, the pipe gets mangled up towards the end. So if ya cut it short, you don't have to worry about it hitting the ground when the bike is laid down. So, my bike sounds like a stunt bike now...if that helps at all.
Way too much about ancillary issues. Searching for sawing off and exhaust and I get this long drawn out thing so it might be a great video for some things but you need to get to the point faster.
This super helped me. My exhaust is now short. Thank you!
I'm about to do this on my 1000. great vid.
Sick. Started this job last night but the stainless rivets were too hard. Going to get drill bits this morning!
Enjoyed every minute of this video, can’t wait to do this to my 600
It's an easy mod that makes the bike so much better...
that does look great shortened, i'm thinking now its shorten and closer to the tyre rubber, is it possible to spray tyre with exhaust smoke at traffic lights etc

Good neat job.. just about to cut 5 inches off my Remus pipe on my K1300s. Hope it goes as smoothly as the Yoshi.
Great work! Confidence inspiring... now to go chop up my two brothers so I can fit this subcage on my f4i
F4i's are so bad ass. I wish I had one to this day. Good luck man!
crazyskullcrusha thanks!
This looks so much better now I have the fever to try on mine
awesome.. im gonna do this to my cbr929rr...i got a fucking smoke stack on that thing
Any noticeable performance issues?or just shorter and louder pretty much it
This video was great until you put the yoshi tag back on...
How much do you charge? Got a gsxr k5 same exhaust. Looking to get it done
yoshimura sounds soooo good! I got to do this! great job
I just thought of doing this to my bike look it up on RUclips and find your vid I have the same exhaust with same exact pipe I can't stand how long it is
Meant to say same bike same same year and same exhaust
Great video. One question what size are the rivets?
HAHAHA "There's some damage over here on this panel". As the fucking gas tank is completely flattened hahahaha.
On my 96 katana it’s a fixed dual muffler. One on each side. If I just cut off where the fixed muffler is am I able to install a slip on?
I love this video i got a gixxer 600 but the only problem i put a subcage in the back so i hsve to invent something to make it fit
Fantastic job ,look and sound on the yoshi 👍👍👍👍👍
A before & after comparison would have been alot more great.
Thanks for the vid have the same pipe nd just had mines done sounds great
How many inches was the exhaust before and how many did it end up being after??
Good job! Made me feel better about doing mine. 👍
I looked and didn’t see any updated videos of this bike/build. What’s the progress of it?
Where did you find those wind screen mirrors? Those are awesome and I can’t find anywhere.
I bought them off a friend years ago in 2005. I doubt they are still made these days. I just cap mirror mounts off now days. That's what I suggest you do but give me a few days to look around and see if I still have those. I'll ship them to you if I still have them.

what length of the can itself?
Was just about to comment on the richness as you mentioned it lol
With the new exhaust and new sound, maybe your neighbor girl can go for a second round, hahaha 😝 . Did she get much road rash?
No. None at all LOL.
Is it worth doing it just for the sound or not? I'm thinking about doing that?

crazyskullcrusha thanks buddy. I'll will do that and let you know how it turns out.
It’s normal for the smoke come out like that ?
It wasn't smoke. It was cold outside and cold in the garage. Same kind of thing you see happen with your everyday driver when it is cold out.
subscribed im fellow sportbike(superbike rider) and fpv race drones
Danger Davefpv NICE! It's fun stuff and thanks for the subscription!
Very Good vid, i watched a couple on here, you did an Awsome job man, now to tackle my 929 24" aftermarket Can, Chop chop'
CHOP it bro! You won't regret it.
What are those type of Mirrors called ?
I just bought the same year and bike 600...i would love to do this to mine....too long right now.
That sounds and looks amazing
Exactly what I'm about to do to my 2 bros on my f4i!
i have 06 zx14 with vance and hines cs1 dual exhaust with no cats but the mufflers are to quiet for me the body of muffler is 14" would it be much louder if i cut down 2" ? id like to have it loud as brocks exhaust

I thought about halfing my can, just wondering about any power loss??
Ricky Spanish They will be no noticable power loss.
you took more or less half off yours, did you have power loss?
Ricky Spanish About half. No power loss.
Thank you!!
Halved mine today, looks great sounds great! and seems to run fine ..thank you
Did you and or did you have to read map your power commander???
That bike doesn't have a Power Commander at all. As far as the electronics are concerned, it is bone stock (except for a speedo healer).
Right on... I have an 03 GSXR 600 and 750... Both have power commanders... Looks damn good man! Ride safe.
Is that a Yoshimura RS3?
Missed the chance to repack the exhaust while you had it open.
good job cuz. let's ride soon.
+sdtopper526 Thank you. I have a KLX big bore kit install video coming up. We should definitely ride soon.
Great video brother... Lots of good info.
Did it change the sound at all from what it was originally??
Sure did. It's a little louder as well.
crazyskullcrusha how much louder, I want to shorten mine because it is long too, however I don't want it super loud.
Not a lot. Just a little bit louder. Just noticeable is all. Stunt riders do this trick because when they are practicing, the pipe gets mangled up towards the end. Stunters prefer short exhausts because a shorter system creates backpressure quicker- low-end torque recharged quickly.
Thank you for your detailed video
get your engine work done bro,, btw it was quite easy as well as aqesome
that kind of sucks for the neighbor lady shell miss out on a lot of fun..
Awesome brother thanks for the video!!!… 💪🏼
Nice. Looks great.
Do you remember what size rivets you used?
MrGixxerWay 3/16"
Looks good man.
is that a fake yoshi pipe? i noticed it doesnt have the yoshi logo on the end cap
No it is the real deal but I bought this in 2006 and I don't think they put the yosh logo on the end cap back then.
ahhhh i just bought a carbon rs3 yesterday for my little zx7r stunt bike
Your loud exhaust won't fix your bikes motor which is all I heard
Thanks about to go cut my exhaust now lol
Way too much about ancillary issues. Searching for sawing off and exhaust and I get this long drawn out thing so it might be a great video for some things but you need to get to the point faster.
Then grab your hacksaw and cut it off you fucking idiot 🤣
Looks fuckn awesome
nice video 👍
Niiiiice🔥
Super e
So one day you decided.... today i will cut a giant hole in the passenger-seat...?
czondag I’m sure it was for stunting to put his feet in for wheelies
Way better
Always buy long pipes. It’s like buy one get one free
Lol
