  • Finally got to review the 2021 Aprilia RS 660! There has been a ton of hype and speculation regarding this bike and in this video, I test it for myself and find out if its true or not. As you may know, I am not a paid journalist so like all my reviews, this will be a fair and honest assessment. Enjoy!

@@PetroHead I've ridden my friends 899, although she has it set up more for track than it is stock. The reason I'm considering the 899 is because of the looks, the ducati passion and how memorable and exciting the ride is (I had a 2018 Supersport S for a while), and I dont mind that it isn't particularly comfortable because I wanted to pair it with an old zx14 or the new busa. I guess I wanted to know if the rs660 is particularly exciting or memorable. The 899 would be more of a heart over brain purchase.

I appreciate your review man! 6 months into riding, started off on a SV650 but did some track days and I decided to transition to a sports bike - I was about to buy a lightly used 2019 ZX6R but the seller fell through and I ended up picking a Lava Red RS660 that was the last one at my local dealership. Funny you say that. I bought an acid gold Tuono 660. At the time thinking it was catchy and a bit different. Literally owned it for 4 weeks before trading it back for the iridium grey tuono. After one week, I began to hate the gold and each week that went by, hated it even more in the flesh. Expensive decision to come to, but if you hate the look or colour of your bike, from personal experience, you won't enjoy riding or looking at the bike. Somebody, presumably the dealer, has changed the geometry of the bike. That triple clamp is higher than it should be stock. And not by a little bit. You should be able to see 2 indicator lines, and you can bareIy see one. Wonder if they have fiddled with the suspension too.

I don't know about the "bargain" part. I really like this bike, really like it. Love the looks, electronics, the HP (for a twin). However, it would have been nicer and blown away most anything on the market (in terms of value) for anything less than a liter bike IF it was about $1000 cheaper. So many good competitors around this price with the supersports (R6, ZX6, etc.) only marginally more expensive and naked bikes (MT-09, 890 Duke) less expensive. All of them out muscle the RS 660 and good looking bikes! I still really like the RS 660, but it could have been a "no brainer" if the price was about $1000-$1500 lower. . . . Good review, btw.

Should have been much cheaper, we have had this class of bike class before, the only thing this does is throwing a lot of aids onto the bike that are not really needed on such a bike. For this price I was hoping at least a curb weight of 170kg.
I rather get a st3, mt09, sd890r than this bike at this spec/price. Dont forget that d675 has the same weight than this bike and much more hp and the price at the time was not that much higher than this bike. 116whp/186kg wet for my d675 from 2010.

A lot of talking, a lot of Highway driving (in the first part it sounded like there would be some twisty stuff too, but no).
To sumarize, good quickshifter, better than that of the F 900 R, comfy seat and suspension (in town and on Highway), vibration in the screen (not mentioned if there are some in the foot pegs, handle bar or gas tank), smooth throttle response, engine likes it in higher gears to be in a higher rev range. Enough power to overtake cars at 80 miles per hour in 6th gear and very flickable. Oh, and if you have six month of riding experience, that`s maybe a bike for you. Why it takes 17 minutes to get this information out? Don`t know. How are the brakes? Don`t know. Handling the twisty stuff? Don`t know.
Sorry I won`t look no further in your content.

@@PetroHead Oh, my Suzuki GSX S 1000 has Brembo brakes too. Is it a two finger affair? No, definitly not. Does it brake well in terms of braking distance? Yes, it does. Maybe you can spot the difference between brand name, pure performance and how to get the performace out of that thing.
I disliked your video and I explained you why. If you are considering my critisism or if you make another video about the RS 660 is up to you. There are better sources for me and my taste of review out there. I hope my tone was right this time and we are good.
